8:26 This part was so impossible for me. I just could not grasp how to get up to the platforms as Sonic and Amy because the field of view is so small, and you have to time your jump just right, and I always ran out of time. I freaking hated this long gauntlet of a stage.
I love this level. Other than Angel Island, this is the best Sonic Advance level. However, my biggest issue in Sonic Advance is that the insta-shield, well... doesn't really work. It expands Sonic's attack radius, yes, but it does not provide the split-second of invincibility it did in Sonic 3 [saved my life loads of times, passing right through bullets there, surviving spikes until it disappeared [which was pretty much just for show, because when it ran out, I still died/lost rings], etc].
I love this stage so much. That moment at 5:02 and the following at 5:09 tho... Was that because the player held back in the other direction or did it just happen? That is some questionable game design.
That segment right there that you mentioned is one of the worst part of this stage. The fact that spikes don't appear and disappear means you need to time your landing very specific, other wise you die.
Ugh, now I remember why I hated this zone and always skipped to act 2. That spike trap was a dirty trick along with those cheap enemy placements and that countdown instead of counting up. I never really knew what was at the end of this first act because of all I raged at this place with what I mentioned. Is this a ROM, because I don't recall Tails being an AI player 2?

I dropped the game before I could finish it only because of this zone. It has many parts that straight up frustrated me and I game overed many times. And it's not my skill issue, I just simply once got sent by a spring into spikes I couldn't see or a speed pad got me into a bottomless pit or a spring did. This level is just beyond FRUSTRATING. And to add more problems, it was also confusing. I had no idea where to and only some small arrows got me through part of act 2, I died to some random enemy after loosing all rings on spikes that I couldn't see and spanwed at the start of act 1 part 2. Then I dropped the game. This level is a joke.
Also, the name of act 1 is done by Egg Rocket Zone, but in act 2, it says Cosmic Angel Zone. Is it Egg Rocket, or Cosmic Angel, game!?. Make up your mind!.

With all of those spikes, it looks like Dr. Robotnik took level design lessons from Dr. Wily... Lots of good memories here. :D

The only stage in Advance series has a time limit, so you pretty set your running skill quickly to goal as possible

If you entered a button combination in the character selection screen. You can get Tails as an AI.
It's kinda like wing fortress!

You can play this on the PSP via emulation. This game also got ported to the N-Gage and was renamed to "Sonic N". No need to get triggered.
