They only way that the Adeptus Ministorum could possibly think that the Blood Ravens are an Ultramarine successor chapter is if the Blood Ravens sent them Ultramarine geneseed that they "found" when performing a purity check.
They are the friends who put in a good word for Trazyn so he could have his pow wow with Cawl during a certain event for a planet that definitely still stands.
My theory: Blood Ravens are a Grey Knights successor chapter who honours the Pre-Heresy Thousand Sons Legion. One of the Loyalist Thousand Sons became Janus after one of Magnus's shards were implanted in him. So, it's possible the Blood Ravens' gene sire is Janus himself. That might explain as to why there are so many Librarians in the Blood Ravens Chapter and explains their fascination with ancient relics as well as their thirst for knowledge.
I am extremely glad that you made a blood raven lore video I loved the chapter ever since I first played DOW they are the reason why I started liking Warhammer 40k. Thank you very much. Information Is Power!

Dawn of War 2 actually focuses on the 4th company, not the 5th. All the armors in-game are marked with a "IV" on the shoulder, and Davian Thule is/was canonically the captain of the 4th company. The only reason the 5th company gets brought up in some sources is because the guy who wrote the novelization of the games didn't care about any established lore and wrote whatever he wanted.
The game may focus on the 4th company, but the recent Index Astartes article featured in White Dwarf (in addition to the novels) does state that it was the 3rd and 5th companies. Given that the index astartes article was only printed just over a year ago with an official GW publication, this is a clear case of a retcon.
@@40KTheories It's an oversight at best; that article is full of lore inaccuracies and conflicts. It would take several more retcons going all the way back to the Dark Crusade expansion for DoW1 for their claim to maintain any sort of continuity. It produces an unusually large number of Librarians among its ranks as a high proportion of Neophytes develop psychic abilities soon after their implantation with the Blood Ravens’ gene-seed organs" Is this a lie?
I believe they are descendent from Lorgar and the 17th legion. If you think about it, they worship the emperor with religious zeal, I believe Angelos or the librarian from dow1 has the voice line "I bear his word!" They recruit from the AURELIAN sub sector and main recruiting world was called AURELIA and Angelos' home world was called CYRENE (before he had it blown up for heresy) perhaps named in honour Cyrene Velantion the "blessed lady" and Confessor to the commanders of the 17th LEGION? I don't think its to much a stetch and we know that not all astartes turned traitor with horus. Perhaps they are an emalgum of surviving loyalists from the traitors? Maybe why they seem to have traits from several different and contradicting sources?
I actually like that theory! It also explains why the Word Bearers faced the Blood Ravens in the earlier Dawn of War games. It might also explain why all records of their founding were removed.
How they study before a strike is like the Dark Angels in start of the Crusade before reunification with the Lion when knowledge learning the ways of war was learn or discard info to become stronger. I believe they are descendent from Lorgar and the 17th legion. If you think about it, they worship the emperor with religious zeal, I believe Angelos or the librarian from dow1 has the voice line "I bear his word!"
They recruit from the AURELIAN sub sector and main recruiting world was called AURELIA and Angelos' home world was called CYRENE (before he had it blown up for heresy) perhaps named in honour Cyrene Velantion the "blessed lady" and Confessor to the commanders of the 17th LEGION? I don't think its to much a stetch and we know that not all astartes turned traitor with horus. Perhaps they are an emalgum of surviving loyalists from the traitors? Maybe why they seem to have traits from several different and contradicting sources?
I actually like that theory! It also explains why the Word Bearers faced the Blood Ravens in the earlier Dawn of War games. It might also explain why all records of their founding were removed.
How they study before a strike is like the Dark Angels in start of the Crusade before reunification with the Lion when knowledge learning the ways of war was learn or discard info to become stronger. And the gene seed stability and non-existent quirk of it. The dark angels has disowned successors that don't know the parent chapters secrets.
* Blood Ravens on the way *
Chapter Master Jack Sparrow: “Hide the rum.”

Did the Blood Ravens steal the Emperor of Mankind while Bootyrob was busy?
No, but there was supposed to be a timer on the Golden Throne that would count down as the Emperor got better. Care to guess what happened to it?
I knew I recognized Hulkykrow’s voice in the opener.
Who are the Blood Ravens you say, they are the best space marines ever made
I can't believe he went through the entire video without mentioning their kleptomania.
2:15
The chapter made for vidya games has their oldest important figure named vidya?! Perfect
When you mix the Raven Guard with the Blood Angels…. The results are the Blood Ravens.
Please do a video on iron hands
The Klepto-nerd marines! Hippity hoppity where is my property?
**breaths in** *THOSE BLOODY MAGPIES*
The Sons of Medusa, without the cyberdong fascination, is what they are.
There's a lot to like about the Blood Ravens
Ah so many dead ravens...like endless amounts dying is my childhood

Belisarius Cawl knows who the Ravens Primarch is ;) he delivered Primaris Marines to them after all.
Is this a re-upload? I swear I watch this video before 🤔 regardless I love the blood raven due to dawn of war series, my wish is that GW workshop makes them more stories and hopefully more spotlight in movies, novels and of course in tabletop. Thanks for the video.
Ps. Blood Ravens are actually word bearers loyalist! 😉
Nope.
I've done a video in regards to their genetic heritage, but this video is more of a general overview of the chapter rather than theorycrafting.
@@40KTheories ah guess no wonder why it seemed so familiar, one last thing will you do a short video of blood raven theory that they're possibly a word bearer loyalist instead of thousands sons 😁
Baldermort did a Blood Ravens lore video within the last to days so it seems things have merged.
Wasn't it Eldar of Craftworld Ulthwe for the majority of the Aurelia Crusade? It's been a while since I played Chaos Rising though.
Do you think the Potola Palace could be the first foundations of the Imperial Palace? The Dalai Lama reminds me of the Emperor a bit and the Palace is in the Himalayas.
Likely made for the Dawn of War trilogy because they didn't want Ultrasmurfs. | 1:49 - Not as close as the Iron Hands and their successor chapters. | 12:48 - Isn't it "None shall find us wanting", since the chaos taint was purged? | 15:06 - They've certainly had their conflicts with the Sisters of Battle. | 16:05 - Spiky Tits?!...How do we know that they're not a mix of Blood Angels and Raven Guard, they wouldn't be the first to have chimeric gene-seed.
Everyone always asks "Who are the Bloodravens" but never "How are the Bloodravens" 😛
Should ask "Where are the Blood Ravens" if you value your relics
