Ryan the ride mechanic i think has a better explanation. With how the bumpers on the trains are constructed it doesnt look possible for the trains to be that close without the bumpers being removed on one of the cars, so it seems unlikely that this was unintentional as they would have had to remove the bumper for the trains to be in this position
it might be possible if only one of the bumper was intact. or there could have been damage to the bumpers causing them to break or fail. It doesn't make sense to remove the bumpers but who knows what really happened. as if you look at the car from a flat level they are pretty far away but since the cars are in a vertical angle, the seats are rotated to a point where the bottoms of the seats are pretty close to the end of the bumpers. The ride also has plastic parts on the sides to keep body parts away from the wheel assemblies. they could be what's in contact putting the seats in such a weird position. its very hard to say from this angle. But I find it very hard to believe its intentional. The only way i think it would be is if they are trying to push the car up and over with the other car attached to the lift which is a terrible idea as the chain/lift motor is most likely not meant to handle the weight of 2 cars.

I heard from eltororyan about block zones and he tells that a block zone is a zone that only one train can be in at a time if the block zone ahead is full the other train has to stop on the prior block zone. For example Raptor at Cedar Point has a midcourse brake run so if one of the trains is stuck on the brake run near the end of the ride and a train is coming into the midcourse brake run it would automatically stop and wait for the other train to move into the station. But sometimes censers on a ride can fail and cause a roller coaster train to bump or even push a train just like Superman at Six Flags New England did the red trains was flying through spaghetti bowl section of the ride and when it hit the final brake run it only slowed it down to 20 mph and it hit the blue train that was about to dispatch from the station and pushed it a little bit.

Joker only has two catch cars that allow a train to be on a lift on opposite ends of each other. Another malfunction had to have happened for this to occur. In terms of the Superman accident. There was more wrong than a broken sensor. There was a broken brake hose that made some of the rides brakes not fully engage causing that accident.

It's almost like they purposely did it. They are getting rid of rides and the harley quinn incident. Now this what will break down next and will it injur someone or kill someone. All of the flags parks are going down hill and most of the new rides the put in there parks are bad it's more like quantity over quality. And it looks like they are trying to somewhat start over but to take down rides because it hurt someone because you made it malfunction is just bad.
@Alex-xx8gf I think it’s more along the lines of budget cuts more then international trying to make a ride malfunction. Cedar fair is for sure trying to clean house, that’s no secret. But risking lawsuits/lives verses just closing rides isn’t something that management would do.
I would like to say I work at Six Flags over Georgia. Yes I agree that every park has invested in cheap rides recently. For example Kid Flash. I don’t understand why we got kid flash giving skyline reputation as they haven’t sold a successful ride. As part of management, they wouldn’t ever purposely make a ride malfunction on their own.
Hahaha I wouldn't be surprised but they could send this to one of the smaller cedar fair parks and it would do very well. I hope they don't just burn it into the ground.
If that’s the case then what’s the next ride at Great Adventure to break? Of what’s open I’d say Jersey Devil. It’s been having train issues. And the last ride I got I didn’t feel super safe (granted I’m a former coward when it comes to coasters so take my opinion as you will).

Stupid gen z ride ops. As somebody who has to deal with gen z employees they are TERRIBLE. They will just pull out their phones while helping customers, walk off without telling anybody, they don't know how to speak correctly. They are by far the WORST employees i have ever had to deal with.
wow. i just rode joker on december 1st and it was running well, i was on the purple side and got 4 or 5 backflips throughout the layout. what exactly even happened to it? and i’m hearing harley derailed which i had also ridden dec. 1st. i’m a bit annoyed with the demo of ka, lantern, and the other defuncts that sfgadv has closed 1/3 of the park. i love coasters and thrill rides, so i dont usually aim for stuff like battle of metropolis and such. but with medusa, toro, superman, being closed for season and no ka or green lantern? sort of boring cold day for me. got on nitro once in the morning and twice for sunset, froze my face off, and didnt enjoy much. those were some of the worst rides on nitro ever for me. its running really slow and as coliwood studios has said, they should make some modifications to the brake run and such so it runs faster in the winter. sorry for my long rant- this was my dec 1st experience in a nutshell…. 😅
Haha no need to be sorry. I love hearing peoples experiences! I agree about nitro. Ok surprised the mid course was kicking on at all. The years I’ve gone to Holiday in the Park it had never been on or was just a slight tap. I hope after whatever they have planned for the boardwalk is done that they reopen the boardwalk for holiday. I wonder if Superman had problems due to the cold. Hopefully they also add more than just a coaster to replace the 6 rides leaving.
@ yes! in my opinion lantern was a good ride and was only a headbanger once for me. it ran smooth most times and sad to see it go. as for ka, i’m desperately hoping it was right to make the decision for a new ride in its place. 6 rides for one coaster i dont know how worth it it will be so.. fingers crossed 🤞
@cc.lexiii personally I don’t think it was as people would go to great adventure just for Kingda Ka. That ride is an icon but there’s sadly nothing we can do about it now. Hopefully they. An at least keep the golden kingdom and rehab it in a beautiful themed land
@ totally agree. really sad i discovered my love for coasters only just this 2024 summer. and now it’s gone. devastating… i cried for a while because i was on vacation on the sunday nov 10 when it closed so wouldnt get any last rides. just the launch was incredible. it felt like the most surreal thing ever.
I couldn’t agree more. I was lucky enough to be able to go up for the last two weekends after not being at the park in years. It broke my heart to say goodbye

Low speed collision means a lack of sensors~ (they’re gonna add more where the accident happened undoubtedly) combined with a failed/faulty sensor.
