I think a lot of people would like to see an updated video on this same topic now that more manufacturers have entered into the kids full suspension bike market.
We've got the YT and the Scott, and they're both so, so close. From what I see from the kids, the YT bobs a lot more on the climbs than the Scott, but you can tune the suspension a lot more. Also, we were able to throw a tubeless Maxxis DHF on the front and it's been holding air with no extra rim tape. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the review!
I've started looking for a full suspension bike for my kids 7th. I see the Marin 24" has updated geo for 2023. Longer wheel base, slacker head tube, steeper seat tube, more front travel and more. In Australia the new marin is $2300aus Polygon D24X is $1800, YT Jeffsy is $3200. The marin is looking interesting!
100!! I have a 20 inch norco fs1 for my son now. and those 3 bike (4 actually b/c he likes blue) is the ones i narrowed it down to. I did choose the yt b/c i felt i could get that one sooner than later and I was on fence with the xfusion. Didn't choose the scott b/c i want my son to like his bike and i don't think he would like the green.
Thank you for your reviews! I bought my kid a hardtail on your recommendation, and we are very happy with it. Now it’s time for full suspension. What are your thoughts on 2022 Transition Ripcord for $1900 USD vs Polygon D24X for $1575 or Marin Rift Zone Jr 24 on sale for $1520? Transition and Marin would be from a local shop, and Transition seems to be a good brand.
We would go polygon for the value then spend the difference from ripcord to lighten it up even further. Lighter stem/bar, lighter tires, lighter seat/post.
Sounds reasonable. Much appreciated. Also, does it make sense to size up to a 26 inch? My kid is 9 y.o., 142 cm, 73 lb. If it does, which would you recommend?
@@dimitriypm A small fitting 26 like the RM Reaper would be ideal. just get some smaller cranks from Ail express for 45 bucks. s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DENzP7L
Both really good value. I wouldn’t say the Manitou is superior to the XFusion fork in terms of performance but it is a tad lighter. We have tested multiple forks from each. The xfusion can be adjusted to 140mm pretty easily internally.
I could not decide between these two options forever but I decided to buy the YT. Just paid for it a couple hours ago. Idk if I made the right choice the because the D24X was on sale for only $1400 and today is the last day. I just love the YT spec and suspension. Wish it came with a little dropper but whatever.
@thebikedads Between a used 2022 Maxwell 24 w/dropper for $2200 or a new Jeffsy Primus 24 (and add dropper), which way do you go for NW greens and blues, potentially some bike park time in the future? Movi g up from a Meta 24 HT. I tow a bit, but we earn 95% of our turns.
My son has a 2021 vitus nucleus 26 I believe with 165 crank arms...what size cranks would you recommend and where do I buy? He is 9 yrs old and 4'7 feet.

Have you looked at the KONA Process 24? My son is leaning that way.
Thanks
Too heavy and not a great spec.

How’bout this... what’s the best, cheapest and lightest air fork for a disc 24? In need of a bargain and don’t know what to do. Thanks
Have you ever heard of mtb topbike 24 teens and who makes/made that?
What do you think of the Norko Fluid 4.2 FS? I'm seeing the 2021 for 1499
The Marin is rim size interchangeable, allowing it to be used far longer as the child grows. This is a very important point.
Polygon D24x or YT? I know the long cranks on the YT, but the sweet suspension and the bike looks badass!

145-150mm ideal for most kids on a 26.
