  • Tom has had 90hrs of driver training, 80 hours with another instructor and final 10 hrs with myself. I conducted a mock test on the 18th March 2024 @ Kingstanding Driving test centre in Birmingham. I have highlighted all his driver faults committed both minor and major throughout this video. Further going into full details at this end of this clip. Please watch till the end to get as much information regarding preventative measures on how to pass you driving test and also drive safe for life. I have attached a copy of his DL25A (driving test report) for your attention.

Due to an editing discrepancy, the timing of the 1st 2 faults are as follows:
8.54mins too close to royal mail van.
9.00mins - driving towards roundabout overspeeding downhill.
    School boy editing error 😂

I thought you wouldn’t have to stop for the pedestrian unless it was a zebra or if they step out into the road? Wouldn’t it get marked as hesitation if he stopped at the junction

Generally speaking, you only have to stop for pedestrians at pedestrian crossings, pelican, puffin, toucan, equestrian, or zebra. Or if a pedestrian was standing at a junction waiting to cross. More so if you're approaching a Give way or stop line as opposed to approach to turn into the road. As it may not be safe to stop on approach to turn left or right due to vehicles rear ending You from behind. Obviously, if a pedestrian steps straight out to cross on your side of the road, you will have to respond with the best course of action, bearing in mind what's behind you before stopping. These pedestrians in this clip just stepped into the road as we were driving past, and it would have been too dangerous to apply brakes fear of rear-end collision. P.s. On a driving test, if you ignore pedestrians waiting to cross at a Give way line, for example, then, this would be marked as a serious fault. Remember, the hierarch of vulnerable road users and pedestrians are on top of this list then followed by bicycles 🚲motorbikes, cars 🚗 vans, and lorries 🚚
