Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti share song writing duties. On their last album each had five songs that were recorded by the band. The songwriting credits includes all four members of Alter Bridge.
Don't know where you're getting that from both creed and alter bridge had very minimal writing or arranging outside the bands members. Part of the split was Scott before the meltdown was so prolific mark didn't feel he was getting enough of his style in. Then while with alterbidge both Myles and Mark had enough material to do projects with other bands.
Creed made music thzt will be listened to 50 years from now.Dont know a single song of alter bridge.I think the difference is Scott Stapps ability to write timeless lyrics.
I love both but I still prefer Creed to Alter Bridge. Myles made Mark a better guitar player and completely reinvented him with Blackbird. But Stapp always brought out the better side of his songwriting. I love the new Alter Bridge album but I always thought Mark's peak songwriting was those first 3 Creed records and One Day Remains. Creed basically established a whole new rubric for Post Grunge that bands like Default, Nickelback, Daughtry and so much more would take in the 2000s
It's a travesty that Alter Bridge aren't bigger. They have an amazing rhythm section in Scott and Brian, and in Mark and Myles they have two of the greatest guitarists and vocalists in the business. Coupled with fantastic songwriting, they should be headlining festival bills, so why are they less popular in the US than they are in Europe? People don't know what they're missing.
I saw them January 25th in Tampa on their opening night of the US leg of their Pawns And Kings tour. Thankfully I bought rhe VIP tickets as soon as they went on sale. Their dates stateside are selling out FAST.. this to me says they are in fact THE hottest band in the WORLD. Just wanted to share my view as I was witness to the show🤘😎🤙
I saw them in Tampa and they only played Alter Bridge songs. I agree the time they spent as Creed was most definitely a pivotal point in Rock History however, each musician found a way through the split to create even better music in their own ways.
They don't. Mark Tremonti has spoken on this in the past. Alter Bridge has always been about forming their own identity away from Creed. Can't do that if they up and decide to play Creed songs. IMO, I think they made the right call by not doing that, especially in their early years when they barely had original material as Alter Bridge and chose to cover artists like Robert Johnson, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin to get by. After 7 albums, you're definitely not hearing them play Creed. And they really shouldn't.
Creed was for the mass audience. Their song writing wasn't mature enough as Alter bridge is at song writing. Myles is definitely better than Scott. And Scott was always a rip off Eddie. Even got hated for copying Eddie. I loved creed songs and I still listen to their songs till this date but Alter Bridge always was always will be better than creed as a band. Myles vocals, lyrics playing take the other 3 on a different level what lacks on creed
Alter Bridge is excellent, but Creed is still better. Myles is a better singer than Scott, but I think Scott's distinct voice better fits the style of music that Creed played. Also, for me, Alter Bridge has moved a little too much to the heavy metal side (especially in their latest albums) compared to Creed.
So, this is far from the full story. You have to include Art of Anarchy, Tremonti, Slash, Frank Sinatra, and Jesus Christ if you want to tell the whole story....
I hope creed never get back together.... I hate stapps vocals.... Tremonti and the rest of the band are better without him.... Alter bridge is so much better.... And Tremonti solo is even better....
They will never be legendary they let go of the one of a kind voice of scott stapp and he was the center piece. People can say alter bridge is Creed because 3 guys from Creed are in it but alter bridge will never be Creed. Their music isn't as good for them to be good like they were they all have to be together in Creed to get that one of a kind sound that they used to work together for. Up until a video a few days ago i didn't even know who alter bridge was I'd never heard of them. BUT I had heard of Creed since I was little and they'd been broke up a while.
They had to since Scott ditched them for his own pursuits. You cant force someone to stay if they want to leave. And youre wrong about 1 thing: they are already legendary
Agreed. Alterbridge are my favourite band. Marks playing and song writing is better than ever. Myles is no slouch on the guitar either! Dang, that voice and carves up the guitar.
Tremonti always struck me as a guy whom took on the image of what he thought a "badass" was. Although an amazing guitarist with an identifiable style. He just always seemed like that uber Christian kid that forces out cuss words in order to seem cooler.
Happy for Scott for turning his life around. Creed will always be one of my favs. Can’t wait to see them next year with 3doors down!

Myles vocals, lyrics playing take the other 3 on a different level what lacks on creed
For me Alter Bridge is the natural evolution of Creed. Imho there's no need for a Creed Reunion. Sorry, that's just how I feel...
I always thought Alter Bridge was the far superior band, or should I say Is Miles Kennedy is far better than Scott Strap.
Fuck no Creed was garbage
too each their own
I like both bands.
And AB last album is FIRE
Scott Stapp is way better to me
So, this is far from the full story. You have to include Art of Anarchy, Tremonti, Slash, Frank Sinatra, and Jesus Christ if you want to tell the whole story....
Creed > Alter Bridge
Creed is lot more better than Alter bridge
Alter-Creed?! hahahahaha!
Seeing creed in August I am SO STOKED 🥹😍❤️🔥
Both bands are great but I prefer Creed over Alter Bridge.
Tremonti always struck me as a guy whom took on the image of what he thought a "badass" was. Although an amazing guitarist with an identifiable style. He just always seemed like that uber Christian kid that forces out cuss words in order to seem cooler.
