I wish they'd slow down now - word is another set is releasing next month. If they keep up this pace the game is going to be impossible to keep up with and power creep is going to be out of control
@@destroyermaker I do think in this case it's because they wanted the mini set close to release so they could hype it up on Pokemon Day. The next big set is still 3 months out at the very end of April. So I think overall we should be ok.

@@destroyermakerlike said above, it’s because of Pokemon Day, I don’t think they’d want to miss the hype on that date, but both next sets will release in 3 months time, so 1.5 month average as it has been, it’s just that the next one will come in a month but the other will take 2 months.

hah i knew farfetch'd would fit right into darkrai weavile :D, dawn really is such a game changer for maintaining early energy tempo where you'd otherwise have it stuck on a unit you aren't going to use again otherwise
The impression I get is that cyrus is good with aggressive decks against decks that play footsies, and sabrina is better with rampy decks and at breezing past walls. This deck probably wants cyrus, I think? It threatens two-shots from turn 1, but doesn't have many one-shots it can force in the lategame.
26:25 oh random queue. You can play around the potion but you cant play around the opponent somehow finding space for hand scope and red card AND not redrawing the lead If they had Cyrus too I'd flip the nearest table Great content as always!
Thanks for including instructive losses. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, but the Cyrus commentary was interesting and that Garchomp deck was pretty neat regardless
As you say towards the end, for this deck 1 communicator seems enough, can replace second to have both sabrina and cyrus or maybe 8 could see rocky helmet. R9cky helmet on weavalie could allow pokemon that come in after a knockout/retreat to hit them self for when you don't have darkray.
Just curious on this. Spiritomb in general looks pretty meh, but would it not be a decent inclusion here to always enable Weavile to hit for 70. I know if they switch and you have Darkrai on the bench its gonna hit for 20 anyway, but more for consistency reasons. Might be worth playing around with
You know what, I am incredibly happy with myself because I could come up with a list similar to this one without knowing people were already talking about it :D The difference with mine is that I have no dawns yet, and I only own 1 communication
Missed my 1st wonder pick of full art Darkrai but wonder picked a regular Darkrai after. Have both weavile one being a rainbow but no sneasel out of 45 packs
I was pretty bummed that I didn’t open any Darkrai since this archetype seems fun, but with my 2 dialga and 2 Palkia I have plenty to mess around with. I built this dialga/melmetal/skarm list that feels pretty solid and it’s been a ton of fun. This set has been a win for sure
Volkner deck next please! I don't have the cards myself to test it out, but the deck (luxray, electivire) looks really interesting. I'd love to see your opinion on how it feels after some play testing.
It is sad when you can’t find the card for the deck you want to play, but hopefully you pulled enough cards to experiment with other new cards. There’s still so many new combos to play with so beware of tunnel vision.
25:16 , on turn 10 instead of attacking with the duck for 40, probably was optimal to retreat and deal 100 with darkrai and you win the game from there even through handscope redcard or cyrus/sabrina since they dont have any knockout points
Very curious why you went for 2 Leafs here rather than 2 X-Speeds. I could see the need to bench Darkrai turn 1 if it's your first basic, but because this deck thrives on fueling Darkrai as much as possible (along with the very low cost to power Weavile / Farfetch'd), I could see more benefit in actually removing a single energy from Darkrai when it retreats. Also Cyrus feels like a must here for chasing big KO's. Totally understand if you haven't pulled him yet though, many streamers are still missing key cards.
I think one either corrects others every time they pronounce something incorrectly, or doesn't correct others despite them being incorrect. let's say people are able to remember every correct pronunciation once they're exposed to it. there's still too many unfamiliar words out there despite this unrealistically perfect memory, and most people mispronounce unintentionally. So, by telling others they pronounce wrong, you're saying that your hurt feeling of someone unintentionally mispronouncing something you have attachment to is more important than their hurt feeling of being corrected over something that isn't a big deal for the majority population, knowing that people will eventually pronounce something wrong thus it is out of their control. that is why I personally don't correct others anymore - nobody likes being called wrong for something they have no stakes over.
If you are going to correct him at least do it right - Dark-Cry implies two hard consonant sounds. It’s Dark-Rai, pronounced phonetically exactly as spelled
I know the mispronounciation is often a tactic for engagement, but I have to listen to the first two minutes again because I winced each time you said Dark-ray
I assumed this deck would want Giovanni so Farfetch'd and a lucky Sneasel could kill a Manaphy, but it looks like Darkrai has the extra damage covered.
Dawn can be your new Giovanni with Darkrai, yes it's more cards for the combo, but deck slots are so limited- can't play all the supporters.. At least this is an alternative to Giovanni.

Also you can easly apply energy to it thanks to Dawn. EDIT: Okey after playing it I totally get it. 40 dmg early is insane, sometimes 60. And 2 more slots for trainers like 1 comm and sabrina/cyrus. Hey Jeff I know how this is gonna sound and disclaimer I don’t think this deck is going to be meta by any means BUT… I have been running a Venusaur EX exeggcutor EX and Shaymin core with the obvious 6 every stage 2 deck in pokemon should carry and 2 Ericas and it has been WAY more consistent than I ever thought it would be because so much of what appears to be our current meta seems to be chip/bench damage and non attack damage (ie abilities) and not nothing besides charizard one shots venu . Healing potential from venu = Giga drain 30 + Erica 50 + 1 (2) shaymin(s) = 90 (100) HEIALING. Just give a shot I believe you will be pleasantly surprised
Also could see some value in dropping one bulbasaur for probability for egg first draw and adding an extra utility card could be super useful since the ideal set up means your extra egg and extra venu evo lines are dead draws either way
I've seen some builds with one Farfetchd and one Spirtiomb, 2 Cyrus, 1 Sabrina instead of comms card, Xspeed instead of Leaf. What are your thoughts on that?
Spiritomb is not a good card. 10 damage, even with spread damage, is a bad attack, and you’re better off enabling the damaged state more directly onto specific pokemon
How do you feel about a copy of X speed? With Dawn/Oak/Sabrina/Leaf theres a lot of supporters to sit in your hand and Duck/Weevil only needs 1 energy so is basically the same as Leaf sometimes?
@@HooglandiaPocket X Speed for turn one Darkrai still lets you hit for 20 with his ability and gives you more opportunities to use his ability overall. Not to mention it removes a Supporter use, which would have fixed your early Dawn misplay game one.

Not at all. Variance in my lead I want consistent damage from sounds awful.
is cape just better potion right now
I think Cape is better in most decks, but not strictly better. Especially with Cyrus in the format now.
@areyanceJr I would say yes due to the fact that it puts some pokemon out of the thresholds of being one shot rather than waiting for the hit.
Extremely happy with pocket right now, I’m absolutely loving Dialga and Darkrai
I'm liking 1 copy of Sabrina and 1 copy of Cyrus. You can Sabrina when you want to get rid of the active pokemon, then if they retreat next turn into the same card you Sabrinaed... you use Cyrus to finish off the card on the bench.
This. Sabrina can be used defensively to help delay opp a bit too, which they would need leaf or Xspeed to get out from
How can anyone have these cards apart from spending ridiculous amounts of money?
You could have saved Hourglasses before the pack dropped. Otherwise slowly over time.
@ I did. But I would be lucky to pull all these cards from a couple of 10 packs right?
naw this deck needs spiritomb and rocky helmet for fast damage spread out, surprised theres no cyrus either
nvm saw the cyrus, nice
Your title is wrong, should be Darkray not Darkrai.
Didn’t know non ex Darkrai was playable
Dark (rye)
Weave (isle)
Love the content my dude
Dude love your content, but this video was hard to watch cause you mispronounced both their names wrong, I swear it's on purpose 😂
Weavile is vile, similar to bile.
Also how do you read rai and say ray.. bruh
Dar-Cry
Weave is pronounced right. Darkrai is like rye bread and not like ray gun
Brother it's called farming engagement. He explicitly does it so people like you come and boost the algorithm by commenting.
darkcry
I like Pokémon
Appreciate the content but you won't get my sub until you pronounce the damn cards right 🤣
