Hello Jhon . My name is Andres , i live in Colombia and in the next month I will be traveling through Los Angeles and San Francisco. I am a fan of gliders and I would like to know the place where you fly them and perhaps meet you in person. Thank you and I am an admirer of your work and what a marvel of gliders. Best regards.
I built a 72" wingspan glider and flew it in the hills behind my house in SoCalif.......Just myself and the birds....quiet.... easy to keep in the air....challenging to keep a 2-channel inverted using wind stalls......hardest part was bringing it down with no damage.....It was the first & last glider I ever built.
My weekly therapy, thank you John and Brendan. Was that recently? I am in the process of building a Junior 60 inspired model that I saw on your channel John, where you flew it off the beach. Please keep the videos coming!
Nice work - masterpiece Questions please 1. You only use the rudder ? No Aileron??? 2. What type of Plastic fuselage do you use? 3. Thec airfoil ribs are standard?
The design of the fuselage does alter how the glider flies. The biggest influence is the length of the fuselage, as a longer tail gives the tail surfaces more authority .
I’m pretty sure you’re going to say the Ocean Breeze is an original design, but by any chance did you build it from plans? It reminds me of a few of my favorite vintage German designs, like the Strolch and the Ikarus. Beautiful designs, in my opinion.
Hello John, your videos are always so beautiful :-) I build a model inspired by your "torpedo" in 3M scale and I have to stiffen the fuselage which is quite "soft" in torsion... In the end, what is the weight you get ? I know you build very light than me :-) Thank you for your answer and continue to make us dream with your magnificent flights on your magnificent slope by the sea!
Thank you. I also found that the fuselage can twist quite easily when it’s just the bare airframe. But once it’s covered, it stiffens right up. I can’t remember the exact weight of this model but I think it came out at about 1.6 kg.
@@SlopeRCGliders Ok, thank you so much John for your answer ! I reinforce the fuselage with triangulations… it's already better. Always so light your constructions.. :-) I think I would be in the 2.4 kg for mine to be able to use it in several flight conditions... near 25 gr / dm2
Thank you. The Outerzone website is a great source of free plans but a lot of the gliders I fly are my own designs. Both the models in this video are my own designs.
@@SlopeRCGliders I guess it was a bit of a stupid question really but at least you didn’t give me a stupid answer. It looks as if your flying both of them 😆 Great videos.
The plans for the red Ocean Breeze are on the Outerzone website. The yellow Torpedo was just a one-off build so unfortunately there aren’t any proper plans.
They look so happy together.
Il modellismo allo stato puro, che non tramonta mai!
Beautiful flay yello end red nice relax
So relaxing! The Torpedo glider is the most beautiful oldtimer you have, I think! Perfect proportions!
Thank you.
Seeing the sunlight through the deep red film really takes me back.. :)
They look like good friends - gotta be better than fishing
Magnificent images of nature exploited by (3😉) talented artists...
Thank you.
torpedo it's wonderlful glider!almost i made it next winter!
They are barely moving, you know theirs very little wind about when their are barely any waves or seagulls about. Fantastic John. 👍
Absolutely gorgeous…stay cool sir!
Beautiful!
Красота! Молодец!
Very nice glider duo... I like the diedrhal wings, the flight is super stable.
Thank you for this moment of magic tent chef!😜👍❤️️🇫🇷
Thank you!
I have always enjoyed the translucent red, honestly any translucent color is very nice! Well done again John!!!
Magic...Woodfield ⭐✈⭐🌞⭐🛩⭐👍⭐⛵⭐😊⭐
Excellent! Great afternoon. 🌞🤠
Most graceful
Nice flying I wish I had a slop like that.
Nice one Johnnie boy, looking to see what's up in the heat ! Nice flying.
Nicely done, thank you! What a wonderful day that must have been, to many more.
Simply majestic!
That torpedo is a stunningly beautiful craft :) and the flying and filmography up to your usual great standards.
Thank you!
Beautiful! Now I’m really green with envy! Lovely job JC&B!
Thanks Alan. Looking forward to another fly next time you are down..
Beautiful planes! Very relaxing to watch them fly, thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
Mesmerising ! You've excelled yourself John...again ! 😃👌
Thank you!
A rare, calm sunny day....We used to have a lot more back in the 1970s....?....🤔😳😏😏🇬🇧

Hi there, unfortunately I'm in England, not the USA.
Hahh you got more wind than North Devon 😍

It was just a couple of days ago. The junior 60 is a great plane.
Nice work - masterpiece
Questions please

2. What type of Plastic fuselage do you use?
3. Thec airfoil ribs are standard?
Hi there. It’s only rudder and elevator. Keeps all simple and light.
It’s covered with Hobbyking film.
The airfoil is standard.
John, you fly so many different beautiful plans. Do you find that the fuselage shape has much influence on flight characteristics?
Thanks

The Ocean Breeze is my own design but I've uploaded the plans to the Outerzone website.
Bendiciones hermosa Celina que Dios te cuidev donde quiera que verwohntt.online encantan tus videos.

Hi watch the channel all the time where do you get the plans from

I presume you are far enough away from St Agnes to avoid the RC ban?
Luckily yes.
what's the material covering the body?
I think I used Oracover on this one.
I do not see servos. Is it controlled by moving center of gravity?
It does have servos controlling the rudder and elevator. They are just hard to see in the video.
I’m curious about the wind speed .. not much but just enough..
I didn’t measure the speed but it was only a few mph. Sometimes it would drop to nothing and then pick up again.
John are you controlling both with one transmitter ?
My friend Brendan is flying the red one.
