- Today be have a build for Wolverine's rival Sabertooth in Dungeons & Dragons. Is one of the X-men's fiercest foes as dangerous in D&D 5e? I think so.

Fun fact: wolverine's power is also supposed to drive him feral, it's a side effect of both of their powers because genetics. However, the adamantium on wolverine's skeleton is trying so hard to kill him, that his power nullified the feral weakness because it's too busy overclocking his healing factor so he doesn't die
You know, you could do "Wolverine, but updated" by giving us an X-23 build...and also, an X-23 build would be pretty freakin' cool, plus Laura IS Wolverine now so you could just call it "Wolverine again, Again"!
I'm still calling her X-23. And she's a fighter/rogue/barbarian
X-23 but it's a monk/rogue build using dexterity for the claws.
Yeah, Laura is amazing but her and Logan fight differently enough to warrant building them differently. Plus she's not so entirely unbreakable and sneakier. Probably at least significantly assassin Rogue?
At least, it's the closest we can get
@@vernonhampton5863 you can call her whatever you want It doesn't change anything or make her All New Wolverine comic any less good.
Awesome, thanks. Can’t wait to play Tony the Tiger with this exact build. 🐅
Is it gonna be grrrrreat?
Who???
@@lookerl1900 the Frosted Flakes mascot
That sounds GRRRRRREAT!
@@pinkbosschanel Oh, sorry I'm peruvian 😅
I remember one military officer in a comic calling Sabretooth "budget Wolverine"
That rings a bell, think it was Ultimate X-Men? Something in the Ultimate universe, for sure.
Poor man's Wolverine I thought it was. And it was in the Ultimate X-Men comics.
@@RoderickVoordouw Possible. I read it in Polish.
Which is funny because Victor is actually better than Logan.
This build reminds me of how hard it must be to make kid's cartoons about Sabertooth and Wolverine. How do you stay faithful when representing 2 guys whose main powers are brutally stabbing people and not dying?
Im convinced thats why sentinels exist, to give the xmen a group of enemies they can use their incredibly lethal powers on without the gore or moral implications of murder.
The 90's X-Men cartoon mostly dealt with it by not showing the damage done by their claws on-screen, and frequently have other characters say "Wolverine, no!" when he was about go in for a killing blow.
I'm actually fully okay with the Leonin take on sabertooth because You did the same thing with half elf when it wasn't anything specific like toad.
I think Gambit was a half-elf too. Mystique was a changeling and Nightcrawler was a Tiefling (even though the last two do make sense
If someone wanted to play a Sabertooth inspired character and wanted to make a human with Leonin features, I would let them. Far easier to tweak the race into an offshoot of humanity in lore than go "but he isn't a cat!".
Missed one more downside: no magical attacks.
Beast claws are only magical starting at 6th level, so good luck scratching ghosts.
All that aside, awesome build!
Ghost stll take half damage, now lycanthopes...
One way to get around the range issue if you're playing at home and willing to give up on superior critical and capped Con is to take the last two levels in barb for the ability to add an athletics check to your jump's distance. Sure they may be high in the air but that won't help if you can jump 60 feet up
Sabertooth has been given adamantium skeleton and claws over the course of the comics i believe.
Damn, I didn't remember TomSka playing Sabertooth in the movies
A Plasmoid would be a great basis for Odo from DS9.
With Disguise Self to look like a "normal" human too
Fun twist with the Leonin, really reflects the intimidating presence.
Ok this gave me a strange but kinda awesome idea. Create a Leonin based on Aslan from Chronicles of Narnia. Probably either Paladin or Cleric maybe both. Not sure what else might be good to mix in there but yeah big muscled wise lion paladin sounds freaking fun to play as.
Perhaps oath of the watchers as Aslan occupies and travels between multiple worlds.
@@danielpriest1142 Honestly I could also see Devotion or Redemption. I definitely see Aslan as a very traditional paladin but again I could also see mixing that with light/life cleric with him breathing warmth, summer, and life back into Narnia.
I've been waiting for this one for soooo long.
Must be my birthday!!!!
I have been begging for this for years....thanks
Same here
I’ve been looking forward to this one.
Awesome build
Really dig sabertooth
My first time playing d&d was like 6 years ago, I was a Goliath named sabertooth, and I didn’t even know how to play so this sure does put a smile on my face
I love seeing what builds you come up with next. Someday I hope you teach us how to build Mary Poppins.
Artificer-bard? Artificer so you can get the carpetbag of holding and umbrella of flying, bard for more obvious reasons.
He did
ua-cam.com/video/w8Rj-D6lsCQ/v-deo.html
I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!
My suggestion is Ace Ventura as a Swarmkeeper ranger with a swarm of household pets
FIIIIIINAAAAALLLYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
My fav. Marvel character. You did him justice. Bravo
Sabretooth has a better regeneration factor than Wolverine. He can take a huge amount damage and shrug it off.
Ngl @tulokthebarbarian love your vids and this one is also epic but sabretooth definitely deserves better than to be called second rate wolverine, the dude hunts down wolverine and beats him on his birthday for the last 150+ years. But all in good fun I'm just a Creed fan boy 😂😂
yep
Yoo let's go I suggested this on steam once
Objection!
Sabertooth has been listed as faster and stronger than Wolverine!
Im just playin Tulok, love the build
Even according to Wolverine's own admission, he is.
and has a better gereneration too
Hoping to see Vash the stampede in the future
Ikr?
At background. Leonine? Interesting choice.
And here I wad thinking shifter, cause of some of different depictions of Sabertooth threw the years.
i would love to see John Wraith done next how amazing would it be to teleport all over the place
A savage build
I feel like going with the Lycan Blood hunter would have been a really good option here too.
Is that Will.I.Am? In an X-Men movie?
Yuuup
He played a dude that teleported and got his spine snapped by Sabretooth in X-Men Origins Wolverine
Another well thought out build, great job. Now can you please do Flash Gordon?
Long tooth shifter, and 20 levels of beast barbarian is how I would do this. I know he isn't well known for his teeth, but he has them and making 4 attacks a round at level 5 as a barbarian is very nice.
Only thing I'm thinking of is trying to find a feasible alignment for this Build as to not step on any toes in a party BUT to keep with his personality as best as can
Huh, broke the “variant human” streak for mutants. Neat
No mutant has ever been a variant human in the history of this channel
@@somethinoriginal2613 revoke my nerd card, it’s the MHA quirk users that are all variant humans not Marvel Mutants
@@gameinsane4718 Oh, okay, ya
That is a bit odd since they're largely very similar to Mutants in terms of their whole deal
@@somethinoriginal2613 except Quirky outnumbered Quirkless instead of the other way around.
Sabertooth, when lucid, is very intelligent(has the book smarts on top of being a cunning warrior, WHEN LUCID)
He plays stupid to lower the guard of opponents.
Might want to dump Charisma instead:He's VERY unpleasant to be around and tends to r**e instead of have consensual sex, Mystique notwithstanding.
Yeah, the only thing he's ever good with Charisma-wise is intimidation, and I'd let a player use strength for intimidation instead. Charisma dump is very appropriate.
he can be quite deceptive and manipulative too, just look his last solo series an how he manipulated everyone to get out of the pit
The only thing this video is missing is Tulok flatly dubbing in "Wolverine" over Barbossa saying "Jack Sparrow"
I am thinking of playing a Bugbear merc based on Sabertooth.
*Uhm acthuallly* I have no idea what to joke complain about, pretty solid build. For the algorithm!
Wild suggestion with it getting a recent game might suggest building azure striker gunvolt? The games are fun and I'm interested in how you would build him
the rival beast to the angry wolverine is here, and while both are monsters, you are the angriest and meaniest one, if only you get unbreakable claws like that pancy rival of yours... wait, YOU HAVE THEM!? Oh its on!.
Victor Creed, Aka Sabretooth, is the kind of recurrent villain that will come from hell itself just to spite you one more time (sure some times were tricks of clones and such, but he also did the literal trip! that is some dedication to a cause I can relate! Hopefully one day my ambition for a Tangle the Lemur build from Sir Tulok will become reality, it might be a hard slope, but im willing to take the trip) Becoming a villain like Victor needs many layers of enhancements and traumatic events (as in "Punctured brain" levels of trauma) that will turn you into the most feral warrior there is, go forth and show all who is the true alpha killer around.
I'm calling shifter fighter but it might be another bard 😂
(or maybe monk multiclass)
Edit : I was wrong 😭
I mean you got the fighter at least!
I love the confidence in the Bard vote. You never know when Tulok is going to Bard build
Thanks.
To be honest, I think it would have been a bit better to increase wisdom by 1 and strength by 1 at level 4 in fighter and put the rest of the levels into monk (open hand) as the claws count as a monk weapon and so their damage increases alongside the martial arts dice (up to a d8 here) and with 11 levels in monk you also get the regenerative abilities of open hand (though you could go for something other than open hand to avoid tranquility)
The build you've said already exists as a Kung Fu Panda build, which came out two weeks ago!
Mercy monk perhaps...despite the name, he could do more damage w/ necrotic(flavor as diseased claws if you want) as well as heal himself.
It fucking wild to me that Leonin doesn't get the universal change to claws
think it was an oversight?
What's the change?
@@grandarkfang_1482 1d4 to 1d6
How did SABERTOOTH get a video before COLOSSUS!
Algorithm
A friend of mine is very interested in a Sandman/Morpheus build. Not me, I don't really care but my friend is very interested
Calling Halfling Spirits Bard/Echo Knight
Why tf would he have a clone that's the dumbest thing I've seen in the comments since I heard the word "allyship"
@@BigManStan You’re right, he’d be Life Cleric. My bad
It just lacks a little bit of wild magic sorcerer
You know despite not being a Sabertooth build that actually sounds fun!
@@BigManStan It's called a joke ...
It would actually be up to 9 attacks with an action surge. The claws ability of an additional attack would proc again. 18 d20 on a Nova round of damage is disgusting and fun.
Sabertooth is one my favorite Marvel characters.
Jesse Faden is another self healing unarmored fighter who can punch hard and attack fast.
I'd be tempted to go beast barbarian longtooth shifter. That way you can bite and claw.
How to play Diluc in dnd pls, i'd love a build of him ♥️
you should make Omega Red
If you do this build but swap leonin for wild hunt shifter you can shift and not have advantage on attacks against you so reckless attack with no penalty while raging
So was curious if you’d ever considered attempting an attack on titan build, but more specifically about the titan aspect, ik the obvious is rune knight, but I’m wondering how far you could push it
Can you do X-men Rogue, Wolfsbane, or Magick
I thought it was going to be Path of the Beast barbarian with a dip on fighter, but it happened to be a fighter with a dip on Path of the Beast barbarian
before start. I'm guessing there some barbarian in there... probably Beast Barbarian
Have you done a Professor X? I am about to start a campaign playing a version of him I did.
Did you know that tigers Moo?
Any chance of seeing James Keziah Delaney from Taboo? 🙏
i challenge you to build the gigachad
This sounds like a fun build, but I want to put it to my Owlin character
He's a tiny angry birb
Maybe some happy soul will see this but I’d love to see Stolas from Helluva Boss! ☺️
Yasssssssssss
Please explain me: in 3.5 leonin claws would have taken two steps in the dice damage progression when raging. If this is not the case, wouldn't it be better to start as a variant human or a typical barbarian one?
Can Patreon subscribers suggest new characters for the poll?
Gorr the god butcher build
PLEASE CAN I GET A SUNG JINWOO BUILD FOR SOLO LEVELING
Make " Hawk Eyes" Mihawk
Beast Barbarian can have multiple options at the same time by having multiple rages active at the same time, but that's really wasteful, so not really an optimal strategy.
Is it possible to play as emme frost?
How about a jubilee build
I woul have do streng 14 and constitution 15
Where is Shantae?
I'll join the patreon if you do Guyver the Bio-Booster Armor!!!!!!!
In the meantime, you could check "63rd Legion Gaming", a really small channel who did a build for Gyver ~ 9 months ago.
I am thinking beast barb and ranger
does anyone have a table for this?
actualy Sabertooh has a better regeneration than Wolverine
Isn't Sabertooth's healing way better than Wolverine's because Sabertooth's healing factor isn't overtaxed by an adamantium skeleton?
I would love to see Emma frost or some other telepath
Ummmm isn’t sabertooth’s healing factor better than wolverines???
First. Calling Beast Barbarian for class at least.
Called it.
Wow you have slightly better internet then other people and was able to predict the single most obvious class for him I'm sure your dead parents are proud
Why max con at the last level instead of the tough feat?
Edit: my bad. Listening while at work. Missed that he took it earlier
He took tough earlier in the build.
@@exqueue3813 gotcha. My bad. I was listening while at work. Missed that
wolverine not a leonin. I assume his previous build race still good!
Wolverine is a Dwarf
Sabertooth is most defiantly a leonin.
Why does he keep saying that sabertooth doesn't heal as well as wolverine? Is that a movie thing cuz in the comics he heals way better. And he used to show up every year to beat up wolverine on his birthday.
Yeah it was a movie thing that seemed to stick around. People forget that aside from the adamantium (which Sabretooth had at times anyway), Sabretooth is physically superior to Wolverine in every way. Sadly he jobs hard.
So in canon, they do have similar power sets but sabertooth is bigger and stronger than wolverine and kicks his ass most fights. Wolverine is a more technical fighter and has way more durability, which he needs cause victor is gonna beat that ass. They are similar but not the same
Let me guess, barbarian and fighter
Algorithm!!!!!!!
Dual wielder, not duel
Can you start boosting your audio on your videos? On average your videos are about 40% quieter than anything else I listen to. I routinely need to max out the volume on my device to be able to hear these videos.
Christ,Never seen a guy that's determined to do battle with his subs. I guest he never heard the term "Don't feed the trolls."
No Birdie as a minion? 0/10 build, unsub.
