Just up graded from a 2013 RX to 2022 F Sport. Really hard to let go of the 13 it’s a great vehicle. The 22 has so much stuff going on it’s very overwhelming.

@@NorthsideLexus Believe me, I love my 2019 Matador Red RX350. The styling and function are first class. Reliability is unbelievable for such a complex piece of engineering marvel. But, I don't understand why I only see black, white, and gray/silver Lexus models. Doesn't Lexus know there are other colors of paint? I'd love to have another red Lexus, but cannot find one anywhere.

Well that’s what I have and it’s very difficult for me to navigate. I’m a 20+ yearCadillac customer and previously had an Acura MDX for 20 years (that I Still have) but thought I’d try the rx. It is Not user friendly and the ‘appointments’ are not as top notch [imo] but…after reading Your Opinion, I’m going to listen to this thoroughly as i need to either learn the rx or trade my one year old for the caddy (Lyric)

We just bought our 3rd RX 350. We gave our Son our 2008 and then our 2012 RX. Only had 65,000 miles on them. The Lexus RX 350 is a wonderful car and you can drive it a long time & will still look great. Congrats!

This is a fantastically produced video. I can't imagine the time and preparation that went into putting it together. And I appreciate how slowly Melissa went through each description to make everything totally understandable. I just bought my 2022 RX one week ago. I'm glad I found this video, as honestly I''m really pretty frustrated with the car. It drives great, but if a 1:40 video is needed to explain how to operate it, that it's not worth buying. Before buying my 2022 I had a 2006 RX. It had 200,000 miles on it and still drove great. Kind of wishing now I had kept it as I completely understood how to operate everything. This is no reflection on this fantastic video, it just means I'm going to have to spend many hours watching it over and over to learn how to drive my car. I wish Lexus would consider dropping half of this technology on future models, which of course won't happen :). Oh well. Three questions though, if you don't mind: 1) Isn't the wireless phone charger option a little impractical if you have to plug in to use Carplay? 2) Why would someone learn the Lexus navigation system if you have Waze on your phone with Carplay? 3) Do the Enform App and the weather radar on the information system need an active wifi subscription to operate? And if not, if you have unlimited data on your cell plan what is the need for the in-car wifi? Thanks again for your great video Melissa. I'm sure I'll be watching it many times again this year! Hopefully the timestamped index will be helpful for you so you can jump to different sections when you're ready learn about them. I'm happy to answer your questions: 1) Isn't the wireless phone charger option a little impractical if you have to plug in to use Carplay? - Yes, the wireless charger is really for people who are not connecting to Apple CarPlay. Some people still prefer to use the Lexus NAV and Bluetooth for the phone. It is just a matter of preference. I'm an Apple CarPlay fan myself and I like the fact that this version requires plugging in, because my phone is always nicely charged. 2) Why would someone learn the Lexus navigation system if you have Waze on your phone with Carplay? - Such a great question. Again, just a matter of preference. For me, CarPlay is the way to go, but on the vehicle that comes with Lexus NAV, you will have a larger screen, better graphics and the capability to have the weather feature. 3) Do the Enform App and the weather radar on the information system need an active wifi subscription to operate? And if not, if you have unlimited data on your cell plan what is the need for the in-car wifi? - The only app you need now is the Lexus App. All of the content from the old Enform Apps have been moved in to the Lexus app, but many features are still title Enform since that is the name of the connected features for this vehicle. The Weather Feature on the NAV equipped vehicles runs on the HD signal and the Enform connection. It does not require Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi hotspot (requiring an AT&T data subscription) is really for passengers who have devices that do not already have a cellular data plan. For example, kids or grandkids with iPads that require Wi-Fi to have content. I hope this helps. Thanks so much for watching and learning about your new RX. I do hope you end up enjoying it. The safety equipment advancements between the 2022 and the 2006 are incredible. I hope that helps as well.

Hi Omar, Thanks so much for watching. I'm so glad the video was helpful for you. It seems like Lexus is trying to offer multiple screen sizes on many of the models. The larger screens will be with the Navigation packages and the smaller screens are usually for non-NAV, but they are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. I think it helps keep cost down on the base price, but offers a more expensive option if desired. I love all the technology, but I am also very contentious of my payment so I usually lease a non-NAV with a smaller screen and use Apple CarPlay. It isn't as fancy of a screen, but it works very well for me. I hope you enjoy your new RX. Thanks again for being here.

Thanks for your tutorial, which I see can help specially persons who have never used a Lexus RX or those who have older models with an old-fashion key. I have been learning about the Lexus RX because I want it to be my next automobile. For new prospects you need to add: how to start your automobile and how to turn it off. I will learn about turning on and off the automobile, but I believe your tutorial needs those essential aspects and it will complete the circle of getting into the automobile, using it, knowing about it, and leaving it until the next trip.

It would have been really nice if the dealer where I purchased my 2022 RX350 had told me about this video. Also anyone who hears a loud clacking noise after reaching 40 MPH+ after they buy their car check, for the temporary tag. 😮 This is my 3rd RX350 and while I feel silly it did cause me a lot of heartache until I brought it to my usual dealership Sheehy Lexus of Annapolis where they pointed it out immediately. Please explain how the toggle works in more detail ( if possible)for changing position of steering wheel. I’m just not sure how it works even though I went through it numerous time in your tutorial. Your prompt and detailed responses are very much appreciated.
No worries. The toggle to adjust the steering wheel moves up and down and forward and back. It is like a little joystick. Just use your fingers to gently push it up, down, forward or back. It adjusts very smoothly. When you move it, you will see the steering wheel move as well.

Good video. I have no interest in the 2023 due to the twin turbo four-cylinder set up so I bought the very last 2022 coming to our state. V6 non turbo suits me much better. 👍🏻
@@NorthsideLexus Also wanted a full-size Toyota pick up with a V-8. Not available anymore. TwinTurbo V6. I think they might do a better job of it than Ford, but now the pick up is going to have to be at Ford they’re still available with a V-8. All this downsizing in engine displacement has to do with attaining an average miles per gallon with all models included I guess. I’ll be following the channel. You do a real nice job on these videos. 👍🏻

I know Lexus has been doing an amazing job on the turbos for a smooth and more powerful feel without the dreaded turbo lag. They don't sound the same, but the power has been really good on everything I've driven, event the new LX which has a turbo. I'm sure Toyota is also doing it right since they are our parent company. Maybe we will all get used to it, but I do love the sound of a throaty V-8. It just sounds cool. Thanks again for your support!

Thanks so much for your feedback. Glad you're here. To remote start your car form the keyfob: make sure at least one of your Lexus Enform accounts is active so the connection to the car can be made. Make sure are about 20 or 30 feet from the car. Then, using the Lock button on the fob: Press lock once, press lock a second time, Press and HOLD lock until you see the lights flash a few times and then the engine will start. Most people prefer to use the Remote Connect feature from the Lexus app since you don't have to be so close to the car and can start it as long as your phone and vehicle have a cellular signal. Hi, We have 2 RX F sports, the video is very nice and helpful for most people I am sure, however there are a few things I wished was easier to find like detailed in this video. The running boards are beautiful which should be advertised or shown in more cars as we have a white and a black rx and I have running boards on both. Second thing is hand rest for the touch pad is not shown anywhere if it opens or not, I’ve seen a picture that it opens and you can put your phone there while Apple CarPlay is plugged in. Last but not least there should be a demo of the headrest holder for iPad/tablet so customers can have an idea as to what it looks like and whether or not to it’s worth getting it for their kids. My two cents.

We don't have those on the inventory we have at our store. The hand rest on the RX does not open. It is just there as a support for your wrist when using the touch pad. Thanks again.

Hi! I'm sorry I didn't show that. On this year model RX it is called Delete Personal Data. Be prepared to redo any radio presets, Bluetooth phone pairings, NAV saved addresses, etc. It is a full clear and reset. Menu > Setup > scroll in the General setup menu to Delete Personal Data. Hi MEL E, Unfortunately Bluetooth and CarPlay cancel each other out. So when BT is active, then ACP can not be used and when ACP is active then BT will be unavailable. You could experiment with plugging your phone in first for Apple CarPlay and then plugging in your daughter's phone for the iPod connection through the audio system. I haven't tried that so I can't guarantee it will work, but it is worth a try. Just remember that the phone plugged in first is the one the car will use for Apple CarPlay. I hope this helps. Before I pull the trigger on a RX-L, it’s unclear to me if the Luxury package include the 12” screen? I see various reviews of the RX-L that claim it has the Luxury package on UA-cam, but brochures and the Lexus website doesn’t seem to say so.
Hi! I see what you mean. Looking at the Lexus USA website and into the packages, it seems that you also need to get the Navigation package to get the larger screen. I would make sure that you ask to see the window sticker for the VIN you are looking at to be certain. That's exciting! There were some paint color changes and some packaging changes and in 2021 Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) system became standard. But the big multimedia system and redesign didn't happen until 2023. I hope this helps!
Great presentation. Certainly filled in the blanks regarding my brand new RX350. I do have a quick question...on the presets for Radio/Sirius XM...any way to provide more info? Only the station number/frequency is listed, I'd prefer the station call letters or in case of Sirius/XM the station name....70s Channel, Comedy, Hits etc. Any way to see that on the presets screen?
Hi AJG! Thanks so much for tuning in with us! Congrats on your new RX350 :) I wish there was a way to get more detail on the Presets list screen. We have been complaining about that ever since Lexus launched the Gen 10 units a few year back. It is frustrating to see that it still hasn't updated. One option is to go to the Info or Radio Replay screens (depending on the setup of your RX). You will have more details, but then you lose the Preset view. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you :(

Believe me, I love my 2019 Matador Red RX350. The styling and function are first class. Reliability is unbelievable for such a complex piece of engineering marvel. But, I don't understand why I only see black, white, and gray/silver Lexus models. Doesn't Lexus know there are other colors of paint? I'd love to have another red Lexus, but cannot find one anywhere.

Well that’s what I have and it’s very difficult for me to navigate. I’m a 20+ yearCadillac customer and previously had an Acura MDX for 20 years (that I Still have) but thought I’d try the rx. It is Not user friendly and the ‘appointments’ are not as top notch [imo] but…after reading Your Opinion, I’m going to listen to this thoroughly as i need to either learn the rx or trade my one year old for the caddy (Lyric)

We just bought our 3rd RX 350. We gave our Son our 2008 and then our 2012 RX. Only had 65,000 miles on them.
The Lexus RX 350 is a wonderful car and you can drive it a long time & will still look great.

This is a fantastically produced video. I can't imagine the time and preparation that went into putting it together. And I appreciate how slowly Melissa went through each description to make everything totally understandable. I just bought my 2022 RX one week ago. I'm glad I found this video, as honestly I''m really pretty frustrated with the car. It drives great, but if a 1:40 video is needed to explain how to operate it, that it's not worth buying. Before buying my 2022 I had a 2006 RX. It had 200,000 miles on it and still drove great. Kind of wishing now I had kept it as I completely understood how to operate everything. This is no reflection on this fantastic video, it just means I'm going to have to spend many hours watching it over and over to learn how to drive my car. I wish Lexus would consider dropping half of this technology on future models, which of course won't happen :). Oh well.
Three questions though, if you don't mind:
1) Isn't the wireless phone charger option a little impractical if you have to plug in to use Carplay?
2) Why would someone learn the Lexus navigation system if you have Waze on your phone with Carplay?
3) Do the Enform App and the weather radar on the information system need an active wifi subscription to operate? And if not, if you have unlimited data on your cell plan what is the need for the in-car wifi?

Hopefully the timestamped index will be helpful for you so you can jump to different sections when you're ready learn about them. I'm happy to answer your questions:

- Yes, the wireless charger is really for people who are not connecting to Apple CarPlay. Some people still prefer to use the Lexus NAV and Bluetooth for the phone. It is just a matter of preference. I'm an Apple CarPlay fan myself and I like the fact that this version requires plugging in, because my phone is always nicely charged.
2) Why would someone learn the Lexus navigation system if you have Waze on your phone with Carplay?
- Such a great question. Again, just a matter of preference. For me, CarPlay is the way to go, but on the vehicle that comes with Lexus NAV, you will have a larger screen, better graphics and the capability to have the weather feature.
3) Do the Enform App and the weather radar on the information system need an active wifi subscription to operate? And if not, if you have unlimited data on your cell plan what is the need for the in-car wifi?
- The only app you need now is the Lexus App. All of the content from the old Enform Apps have been moved in to the Lexus app, but many features are still title Enform since that is the name of the connected features for this vehicle. The Weather Feature on the NAV equipped vehicles runs on the HD signal and the Enform connection. It does not require Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi hotspot (requiring an AT&T data subscription) is really for passengers who have devices that do not already have a cellular data plan. For example, kids or grandkids with iPads that require Wi-Fi to have content.
I hope this helps. Thanks so much for watching and learning about your new RX. I do hope you end up enjoying it. The safety equipment advancements between the 2022 and the 2006 are incredible. I hope that helps as well.

Hi Omar, Thanks so much for watching. I'm so glad the video was helpful for you. It seems like Lexus is trying to offer multiple screen sizes on many of the models. The larger screens will be with the Navigation packages and the smaller screens are usually for non-NAV, but they are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. I think it helps keep cost down on the base price, but offers a more expensive option if desired. I love all the technology, but I am also very contentious of my payment so I usually lease a non-NAV with a smaller screen and use Apple CarPlay. It isn't as fancy of a screen, but it works very well for me. I hope you enjoy your new RX. Thanks again for being here.

Please explain how the toggle works in more detail ( if possible)for changing position of steering wheel. I’m just not sure how it works even though I went through it numerous time in your tutorial. Your prompt and detailed responses are very much appreciated.
No worries. The toggle to adjust the steering wheel moves up and down and forward and back. It is like a little joystick. Just use your fingers to gently push it up, down, forward or back. It adjusts very smoothly. When you move it, you will see the steering wheel move as well.

@@NorthsideLexus Also wanted a full-size Toyota pick up with a V-8. Not available anymore. TwinTurbo V6. I think they might do a better job of it than Ford, but now the pick up is going to have to be at Ford they’re still available with a V-8. All this downsizing in engine displacement has to do with attaining an average miles per gallon with all models included I guess. I’ll be following the channel. You do a real nice job on these videos. 👍🏻

I know Lexus has been doing an amazing job on the turbos for a smooth and more powerful feel without the dreaded turbo lag. They don't sound the same, but the power has been really good on everything I've driven, event the new LX which has a turbo. I'm sure Toyota is also doing it right since they are our parent company. Maybe we will all get used to it, but I do love the sound of a throaty V-8. It just sounds cool. Thanks again for your support!
Driver Position Memory is good. It will be perfect if it has rear mirror memory too as different driver has different view angles.

great video, how a tutorial about additional functions on the keyfob such as remote start would be helpful.
Thanks so much for your feedback. Glad you're here. To remote start your car form the keyfob: make sure at least one of your Lexus Enform accounts is active so the connection to the car can be made. Make sure are about 20 or 30 feet from the car. Then, using the Lock button on the fob: Press lock once, press lock a second time, Press and HOLD lock until you see the lights flash a few times and then the engine will start. Most people prefer to use the Remote Connect feature from the Lexus app since you don't have to be so close to the car and can start it as long as your phone and vehicle have a cellular signal. Hi, We have 2 RX F sports, the video is very nice and helpful for most people I am sure, however there are a few things I wished was easier to find like detailed in this video. The running boards are beautiful which should be advertised or shown in more cars as we have a white and a black rx and I have running boards on both. Second thing is hand rest for the touch pad is not shown anywhere if it opens or not, I’ve seen a picture that it opens and you can put your phone there while Apple CarPlay is plugged in. Last but not least there should be a demo of the headrest holder for iPad/tablet so customers can have an idea as to what it looks like and whether or not to it’s worth getting it for their kids. My two cents.

We don't have those on the inventory we have at our store. The hand rest on the RX does not open. It is just there as a support for your wrist when using the touch pad. Thanks again.

Great video, you wouldn't happen to have a video showing how to delete any previous owners data/links etc for a used one of these RX's as I don't a previous owner tracking my car. Thanks.
Hi! I'm sorry I didn't show that. On this year model RX it is called Delete Personal Data. Be prepared to redo any radio presets, Bluetooth phone pairings, NAV saved addresses, etc. It is a full clear and reset. Menu > Setup > scroll in the General setup menu to Delete Personal Data. Hello . Thanks for the detailed review . Question for you . Can I do apple CarPlay from my phone wired in for navigation but Bluetooth music from my daughters phone if she’s on the phone with me ? Thanks
Hi MEL E, Unfortunately Bluetooth and CarPlay cancel each other out. So when BT is active, then ACP can not be used and when ACP is active then BT will be unavailable. You could experiment with plugging your phone in first for Apple CarPlay and then plugging in your daughter's phone for the iPod connection through the audio system. I haven't tried that so I can't guarantee it will work, but it is worth a try. Just remember that the phone plugged in first is the one the car will use for Apple CarPlay. I hope this helps. Before I pull the trigger on a RX-L, it’s unclear to me if the Luxury package include the 12” screen? I see various reviews of the RX-L that claim it has the Luxury package on UA-cam, but brochures and the Lexus website doesn’t seem to say so.
Hi! I see what you mean. Looking at the Lexus USA website and into the packages, it seems that you also need to get the Navigation package to get the larger screen. I would make sure that you ask to see the window sticker for the VIN you are looking at to be certain. Hello Melissa , is there any difference from 2020 RX and the 2022 ? I’m planning to purchase a used 2020 RX350 that’s the reason I’m asking
That's exciting! There were some paint color changes and some packaging changes and in 2021 Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) system became standard. But the big multimedia system and redesign didn't happen until 2023. I hope this helps!
Great presentation. Certainly filled in the blanks regarding my brand new RX350. I do have a quick question...on the presets for Radio/Sirius XM...any way to provide more info? Only the station number/frequency is listed, I'd prefer the station call letters or in case of Sirius/XM the station name....70s Channel, Comedy, Hits etc. Any way to see that on the presets screen?
Hi AJG! Thanks so much for tuning in with us! Congrats on your new RX350 :) I wish there was a way to get more detail on the Presets list screen. We have been complaining about that ever since Lexus launched the Gen 10 units a few year back. It is frustrating to see that it still hasn't updated. One option is to go to the Info or Radio Replay screens (depending on the setup of your RX). You will have more details, but then you lose the Preset view. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you :(
