All looking great especially for your second season .
I don't know what Ariel on Fy Nyth channel who i have followed for a lot of years does but she gets huge crops of garlic and she has a very short growing season (cold ,high altitude) .
I do remember her sending some of her soil off to get analysed .She has to be careful in choosing what plants do well in her location.
You can't be far off because the garlic plants wasn't dead ,just small .
A very clever gardener once told me people kill plants with kindness.

Thank you. We just have to keep it all alive till harvest now. I will check Ariel out. Thanks for the tip. I get the killing plants with kindness and I think it does apply in some instances here tbf. 🤣

Your garden is looking amazing! All the rain may not be good for completing tasks on your checklist, but it's doing wonders for the garden. It looks so lush!❤️ Yes, I'm a bit jealous. 😂

Yeah thanks it is starting to look better but most of it is down to Mandy. She has turned the melbutt bed around that’s for sure. Your garden was not looking too shabby the last time I saw it?

@Farm Villa Our garden is doing OK. We're watering it often, especially our seedlings and stuff that isn't mulched yet. Seems like we're behind compared to the neighbours though. 🤔

@@notyouraveragegringos soil condition is important. The melbutt bed last year was pathetic. Seems better since we hit it with compost and some fertiliser this year

@Farm Villa Yes, our house and land were neglected for years so lots of soil amendment needed. We've been composting and Grant is making fertilizer from the weeds but it has a long way to go! We're already seeing improvement over last year though! 😊

@@notyouraveragegringos yeah we learned the hard way about soil condition. TBF we are still stabbing away in the dark but I think we are on the right track. 🤣
