@justsomeguywithamustache2901 not even completely, though. Season 1 was fantastic. They cut a bit of content but still captured the mystery and vibe of the story. It had so much personality with the art style and the way the shinsu looked and flowed. The fights weren't many, but they were mostly well done. The way it was done fit Tower of God so well. They literally had the blueprint laid out for them for the second season, and they fumbled.
The anime industry in kinda simplified: - Manga gets popular and a Production Company (AniPlex, Kadokawa, etc..) shows interest in making an anime adaptation. - Then, because shit is expensive AF (a show needs music, animation, advertisment, merch, broadcast, etc) these companies form a committee to work on the adaptation (SonyMusic for music/OPs/EDs, BiliBili for broadcast in China and Crunchyroll in the west, etc). That way everyone invests a little and win little, but if it tanks (like the 5th Isekai of the season does and that's why we keep getting 30+ shows per season even when most are not very good) they don't lose a lot!! - This is where the selection of an animation studio (MAPPA, Clover Works, Production I.G., etc) begins as well, and the selection depends on various things (mainly connections and previous track record with the companies in the committee) which is mainly fine since it creates smoother productions, but... - BUT since the budget for the show is agreed beforehand things get messy because studios can outbid the competing studio by saying they do the work for less. Which is the reason for animators being so overworked and unfairly paid and shows like OPM S2 (popular example) and now ToG S2 get a downgrade in animation (on a not so noticeable note same reason why WitStudio didn't animate rest of the AoT and MAPPA took over). - Basically it boils down to money and greediness by the production companies and committees, which leave animation studios with very little leverage and say so in the production of the actual thing. Hope this helps understand a bit better the reasons some shows and animators get treated so poorly and there are videos explaining it better!! edit: errors
So I'll start off by saying the fire appearing out of nowhere is kinda okay to a point because that's how wave controllers fight. They use "bangs" of shinsu, which can appear wherever the wave controller wants them to. That said, there's zero excuse for it to look so ugly. That scene almost made me throw up. I had to double-check that I wasn't watching the generic isekai of the season smh. As a Tower of God fan, I wish they would've just not done a second season if this was how it was going to turn out.

Tower of God is a very long series, over a decade old with very long arcs, that's a lot of chapters to compress into 24 episodes, that was not a smart decision. To put it into perspectives, Tower of God currently has 3 parts which are referred to as seasons, I don't know why SIU or Naver calls them seasons, but anyway. Part 2 of Tower of God has a total of 337 chapters, Part 1 has 78 chapters, Part 2 has over quadruple the number of chapters. The arcs that are being adapt for season 2 of the anime are the first two arcs the Prince of Zahard, and the Workshop Battle, which is like 33% of part 2. Honestly it would have made more sense for them to make 12 or 9 episodes this season or to make 4 OVA's that would release throughout the year. Basically, it was probably just dropped by Telecom in favor of backing something else because I know they were schedule to work on several projects throughout 2024.

I loved reading the webtoon, I was pulled into the story and development of characters so quick. But the anime,.,.,.,., at some points watching season two I had to keep pausing every few minutes to take a breather because of how terrible it was. I couldn't get immersed into the scenes at all. it's disappointing knowing how good the story is and letting it be treated like a low effort project. At one point I think there were two entire minutes zoomed in on character's faces for dialogue for copy-paste mouth movement. Tower of god also has an emotional aspect to it and its characters as well, and season two didn't deliver any of that. The only reason why I continue to watch it is because of my love for these characters that I've grown to really like from reading the webtoon, and even then I dislike how clunky the animation makes them look.
Not finna lie this anime season is quite disappointing especially after all the hype about the old anime returning and how amazing last season was we expected it to keep on rising until we get all the OG’s airing 😔 I dropped like 5 shows so far which says a lot…my past dropped shows record is 2 per season
The story that is super famous and loved just had to have a show that is true to the story that is super famous and loved.....what? Just say you want another JJK (which is mid imo, just looks fancy) and don't ever wanna read source materials. Which is fine btw.
I can get people criticizing ToG anime because the story isn't bad, it's the production and adaptation that is trash. The japanese are doing to korean webtoon what Netflix did to their manga. Bunch of hypocrites.
I be honest here season 2 of webtoons not anime even thought they taking from webtoons but here my point in the beginning of season 2 on webtoon those chapters where good like the anime and ep 8 I think or 9 that part of the chapter is like the build up stage and then workshop battle will happen so yea those chapters are ass. Also the fire ball in the sir that sinsu and there everywhere like in season 1 they even mentioned it.
alot of "i dont know" in the review.. which is fair.. we all not know if we not there to be in the center of the decisions.. but what we do kno is the results.. and tower of god s2 is one of the lamest adaptations i've ever seen it wasn't a bit crime as what they did to tokyo ghoul or the promised neverland.. but the animation part is one of the weakest of all times... tower of god is for big brains... its very comlicated to direct it right.. for unrealisticly dialouges, characters developments, lore, world building.. normal-ass studio can't even dream to compherhand thoes levels... sadly too many pepole in charge dont know the work and just want to cut their profits without put right work
season 2 is so bad I reread it all of season 2 of the manga the pacing is so weird in the anime also its kinda nice of them to let preschoolers make this anime. even the music isnt popping its feels like loading screen music now.
I'm telling you man, STRAY KIDS needs to let go TOWER OF GOD and stop riding TOG hype train.... They are taking ADVANTAGE of TOG popularity in SOUTH KOREA.... We just received confirmation that STRAY KIDS will come back to do the OPENING song and ENDING song for TOG SEASON 2 - PART/COUR 2. STRAY KIDS is eating the budget for TOG ANIMATION. Not finna lie this anime season is quite disappointing especially after all the hype about the old anime returning and how amazing last season was we expected it to keep on rising until we get all the OG’s airing 😔 I dropped like 5 shows so far which says a lot…my past dropped shows record is 2 per season
Idk if you have the time or interest, but I would HIGHLY recommend the ToG Webtoon. The art in the comic unironically has better animation than S2
You can't adapt a 20 year old manhwa and not give it a fresh coat of paint, better pacing and all that
at this point read the webtoon instead of watching this we can wait for S3 instead
As a hater of ToG, this does put a smile on my face.
I've been enjoying the new season.
It shows cuz the story is kinda fire mannnnn
RELEASE THE BLEACH VIDEO?!!!!!!!
Brother!! You gotta watch Unwanted Undead Adventurer
Honestly… it’s just straight up trash now. The disappointment 🥲
Gotta remove these bot comments. Anyways, I ain't watching the video yet. But I'm sure it'll be a banger. I'll stop yapping now
Im never gonna watch any more of tog
Im just gonna read the webtoon
They had the animation and pacing. Fck it, they had it all for season 1. Season 2 tried to be more 'comic accurate'. FCK UR COMIC ACCURATE
The story that is super famous and loved just had to have a show that is true to the story that is super famous and loved.....what?
Just say you want another JJK (which is mid imo, just looks fancy) and don't ever wanna read source materials. Which is fine btw.
Story still good but the visuals are going THRU it rn
someone gotta pmo im trynna do content like this but ion know how to start
I can get people criticizing ToG anime because the story isn't bad, it's the production and adaptation that is trash.
The japanese are doing to korean webtoon what Netflix did to their manga. Bunch of hypocrites.
So it got, the 7 deadly sins treatment, that's just sad😑
I seen the Fake “Killua” and Turned it off
I still like it think it’s alright
I be honest here season 2 of webtoons not anime even thought they taking from webtoons but here my point in the beginning of season 2 on webtoon those chapters where good like the anime and ep 8 I think or 9 that part of the chapter is like the build up stage and then workshop battle will happen so yea those chapters are ass. Also the fire ball in the sir that sinsu and there everywhere like in season 1 they even mentioned it.
alot of "i dont know" in the review.. which is fair.. we all not know if we not there to be in the center of the decisions.. but what we do kno is the results.. and tower of god s2 is one of the lamest adaptations i've ever seen
it wasn't a bit crime as what they did to tokyo ghoul or the promised neverland.. but the animation part is one of the weakest of all times...
tower of god is for big brains... its very comlicated to direct it right.. for unrealisticly dialouges, characters developments, lore, world building..
normal-ass studio can't even dream to compherhand thoes levels... sadly too many pepole in charge dont know the work and just want to cut their profits without put right work
yall tripping.
season 2 is so bad I reread it all of season 2 of the manga the pacing is so weird in the anime
also its kinda nice of them to let preschoolers make this anime.
even the music isnt popping its feels like loading screen music now.
It went from original to generic
I'm telling you man, STRAY KIDS needs to let go TOWER OF GOD and stop riding TOG hype train.... They are taking ADVANTAGE of TOG popularity in SOUTH KOREA.... We just received confirmation that STRAY KIDS will come back to do the OPENING song and ENDING song for TOG SEASON 2 - PART/COUR 2.
STRAY KIDS is eating the budget for TOG ANIMATION. STRAY KIDS are too overrated and they are too EXPENSIVE because of their overrated popularity with the girls. SOLO LEVELING doesn't have big name boyband doing their opening.
Just read the webtoon
That aim is a lil questionable my guy
Because the story is bad. It's Mario Party the anime.
Anime only, don’t gaf. I like it
The animation fell off so fucking badly the difference is jarring
Yo
get a life
@@luispedraza6267 shut it Luis
Tower of god just ain’t gd man it’s overrated trash
