One of the hardest songs in recorded history to sing. I have the most vivid memory of buying this cassette(the first day it was available) and putting it in my car stereo. The intro to this song came on and my brain said COOL…then the band kicked in and I kid you not the hair on my neck stood up. At that point this song wasn’t on the radio yet only Why Can’t This Be Love(I wasn’t crazy about it at the time) so I was thrilled to hear this masterpiece. It screams HOPE and who couldn’t use a little bit of that. Thank you guys for taking time out of your lives to write this for us.

Both brothers are so talented. They left their mark on creative rock n roll music. Music creativity has become a machine now days. The folks calling the shots in mass media have gotten so afraid to take risk in order to preserve the idea that music is one of the fine arts. All about sticking to a sound formula that worked yesterday for people to tune in and listen. It's all about making the investers happy. The artistic motivation that used to be provided by big time media has left the building.

@@blakestone75 thanks , nice of you to say that….hope all is well in your camp too 😉
Well thank you too. My own brother and I have an interesting relationship. He’s recovering from some medical stuff and is working on getting his life back on track. I pray for him often. But we enjoy gaming online once or twice a week together.
Man all I can do is smile the entire time I watch this ! IMHO the best days of Van Halen was right at this moment in history. The 4 of them got along soooo good and had sooo much chemistry and the music off FUCK was imo the best !!!!
And maybe my favorite.
What I would give to get that experience as someone who played music all their lives to be able to do it at the highest level with your best friends
RIP Eddie , there will never be another like you, my prayers to the family.
Damn, I miss Eddie! The world is a more empty place without him. But I am so happy to have gotten to see this old piece of history.
Me too.... I miss all 4 of these guys together. They were all at their best together.
Sammy almost singing Dreams like the studio version! Incredible
Heard about EVH DEATH 3 days ago and didn't shed a tear untill just now when he broke out into the Dreams solo... It just hit me hard... DAM IT MAN!!!..
RIP EVH 1955-2020

Sucks, he's gone 😓
Listen kid. I truly believe you have more reasons to shed tears being you can't spell. Until is spelled with one L.

Going around correcting typos on UA-cam.. Go get a fucking life.
You can feel the love between these guys throughout the entire video awesome
Great moment of one of the greatest band. There is a joy and synergy in Van Halen's work from this period.
Great version of Wont get fooled again ... Eddie just doing magic ... and Sammy
This gets better as every decade ticks by.
Wow just wow. You guys have and will always own my heart. Thank you for all the joy, memories and sharing your talents. I’m proud to have shared the planet in sync with you. EPIC
Van Halen always my favorite group since I was a little kid I can sit and listen to Van Halen in the studio all day long Eddie is just an amazing talented guitarist and everything else he is the greatest rock and roll guitarists ever Won't Get Fooled Again that was awesome Sammy Eddie Alex and Michael love you guys you guys are awesome Van Halen forever Eddie can't believe that you're gone I heard it on the radio I had to pull over because I thought I was hearing things I had to check it out on my phone I just couldn't believe it f***** up my whole day I used to mimic Eddie in my room on a guitar that's about as far as I got actually bring tears to my eyes no bulshit Eddie rest in peace man love you brother
A completely different vibe with Sammy singing.
The band really popped during this era. They sounded great and it shows how Michael was as intricate a part of this band as the others.
This group of musicians at that point in time were and still are the greatest rock band hands down, I honestly can't think of anyone who would even try to step to that!
lov it - thanks 4 sharing !!!
Such an awesome version of Dreams! My favorite Van Hagar song!
LOVE this video! what a cover of wont get fooled again!
The cover of Won't Get Fooled Again may be the single coolest thing on the internet.
Don't even know how I ended up seeing this video, but so grateful. Too many words. Thank you. Love you all.
Eddie RIP We Love you and Miss you - These are memories!!!! such an Innovator turns a guitar into a snyth......WOW....thank you Sammy....We Love you too....
Thank you guys for taking time out of your lives to write this for us.
greatest version of Won't Get Fooled Again ever
this is emotional ...the drums, vocals...the perfect rock guitar and that bass on point, this band will always be my fav hard rock band of all time
When Van Halen Was Great !!!! Too Bad It Will Never Be Again...
J...
I like Sammy as a solo artist more than Sammy with VH. Even on this Higher track his high notes are flat and screechy....
This is Van Hagar in their prime
@Will E. Fisturgash there was no Van Hagar then, there was only Van Halen
@Will E. Fisturgash You mean when they had a singer that wasn't remotely capable of singing something like this? LOL
@@DMDvideo10 Absolutely. When he got to the "We'll get higher" part, while he was flashing that over bleached mouthful of chiclets, I was certain that he had to be embarrassed to see that camera rolling right in his face getting every flat note on tape! Priceless irony there when it never would "get Higher".
And something tells me that all of that hugging and laughing and ass grabbing stopped the second those cameras were gone. lol
Damn awesome video. Great cover of WGFA! Love me some Van Hagar!
It's sooooo beautiful!! I always cry when i hear this song!
I moved from Ohio to southern California to live with my dad and at LAX when I got off the plane I had to spend every dollar in my pocket 😂 being around 14 I bought the 5150 album I walked out of the airport and popped the tape in my dad's girlfriends tape deck in her supra and I can still feel the California sun on my face that album became the soundtrack to my summer that year and have loved van Halen ever since so glad I was born in the era I was born in
I love both sammy and david.......I think most van halen fans like both.......
After that Who song I’m in love with Eddie all over again and now crushing on Alex a little too. RIP Eddie, my thoughts and prayers to all your family and loved ones. 🎸💔🙏🏻
me too :) Van Halen should of been THE WHO TRIBUTE COVER ROCK BAND
When you become an adult you won't have crushes on people you don't know
Which song it is?
stellar footage, the pure joy of rockstars at work captured - literally the hour before the wheels started to come off. when I think of VH early 90s, I think of just the right mixture of fun and work ethic. living the life, getting things done
What a treat!!! Thanks for Posting😊
Excuse me while I put my face back on, because VH blew it completely off with that cover of The Who. Holy shit. That was amazing. Pure gold.
Probably one of the best WHO covers I've ever heard as well.
Muchas Gracias from Pittsburgh.
So spontaneous and great fun! Tnx for posting this!
Oh man... The sound of a real Rock band...!! ❤❤👍
What a fantastic singer !.
Damn , it still brings a little tear to my eyes when I see Eddie play , thank you Eddie for inspiring me to pick up the guitar 40 years ago .R.I.P. Eddie, thanks for all the music you gave us , especially my generation , (a teen in the 80s) .
I’m a VH fan and a big fan of Sammy. I just got back from Cabo a few days ago and first went to Cabo just to see Cabo Wabo and of course had to go just to listen to his house band.
They are all incredibly gifted together.
Its insane how many times i have watched this , what a Band they were in they're prime !
Rings or Wings Van Halen is ALL good in my world!!
Their
I love how Ed just throws his headphones down at the end of the video.😂..I think that's why the first pair were broken.. Love and miss these days!❤️👍🏼
