    Er, I meant that the *original* transmission was on a Friday. LWT programmes could occasionally be repeated midweek, and those that weren't networked (i.e. Supersonic in the 1970s) turned up midweek in some regions.
    It had been imported by 1987 (though not for long and penny-for-the-guy was possibly still bigger even as late as that) but when the Tweety Pie cartoon was first shown in the cinemas, most Brits would have had no idea what its title was a pun on.

    From my memory, Supergran surely has to be the most successful show ever to air in the Sunday afternoon schedule, without splitting hairs over things like the EastEnders omnibus, or some big sporting event. I'm talking about a show specially commissioned for the graveyard slot of Sunday afternoon. I remember it airing at something like 2pm, in the Central region. How did it ever find an audience?!
