Macanese Patuá has to be revived and become the official language of Macau no matter what.
Would love to see this language be taught in schools, with books about vocabulary, grammar, and many more.
So true, also knowing how rich the southern Taoist schools are, I would love to see the material translated into the Maquista language and lectures given in it on UA-cam videos for all of us to watch! The more this precious linguistic treasure is used in works and purposes of higher spiritual and artistic works, the more chances of it to be preserved for the future generations. I'm sure it'll also attract many admirers from all over the world as well wanting to learn it and enjoy the true diversity of Macao's rich history!

It is good to see familiar faces
I'm Brazilian and I don't even descend from these people but this got me teary-eyed. Please, don't let the precious Maquita language die! As a cultural activist, I'll be sharing any such material I find to help raise awareness about this precious linguistic treasure. Rest assured many of us Portuguese speakers can understand a lot of what you say. You may want to learn Portuguese to communicate more easily with other Portuguese speakers but, please, don't ever let this beautiful language neglected to second place cause in it lies the true identity of the Macanese people!
As an eclectic pagan who was a Taoist for 14 years, I hope we can also find more practitioners of Taoist using and learning this precious language so the rich Taoist traditions of southern China can be more easily accessed via this amazing tongue which is obviously far easier for us westerners to learn, especially for us lusophones!

I’m very admiring these Patua people they have more Portuguese influence than the Hongkongger’s British influence.But then they can continue living in the city peacefully without any problems under the PRC rules. I would say that this is acceptance 🎉👍👏❤

澳門回歸中國是值得高興的事，但沒有葡萄牙文化的澳門，將是一文不值，現在的澳門充斥大量低端移工，對澳門傳統文化無疑是滅頂之災。

I am macaense and I grew up just around 25 de abril which persuaded many parents to switch from portuguese to english schools. I don’t think we have to insist on patuá which was not widely spoken in the 70s already. Just speak portuguese with macau accent and mix with cantonese is already distinct. I have not met anyone in 40 years living abroad who speak portuguese and cantonese, except macaense. I always tell people I am Macanese, and explain the more than 400 years of history.
Please, don't say that! Macanese is a cultural treasure which truly expresses the mixed nature of its original people, created with the mixing of Portuguese and Asian peoples through four hundred centuries! For me Macanese is the language which must be given total priority to, Portuguese coming in second place for its usefulness as an international language among lusophones but if we place such a linguistic treasure because of its declining numbers of speakers to a place of oblivion, one is not only helping to destroy a unique linguistic heritage but also the very soul of the Macanese descendents of mixed ancestry, which is twice a cultural and spiritual crime!!!
