Today it is a bit campy. I do think they nailed the look of the Shuttle and its launch- They used salt as the smoke. It was always a favorite to watch when it would come on TV back in the 80s- it would run 3hours with the commercials.
Roger is still my Bond. Enjoy them all and 4 of his are in my top ten. 7. Moonraker 6. The man with the golden gun 5. Live and Let die 4. Octopussy 3. The spy who Loved me 2. For your eyes only 1. A view to a kill
I have to say that you have a well put together list, and I admit that A View to a Kill has Roger's best villain with Zorin and one of the best Bond songs of the entire franchise - with it being the only one to hit No.1. It's a great movie that is always underrated. thanks for your comments- it means a lot- look out in the next coming weeks for the upcoming Timothy Dalton countdown video, after which will be the Connery 2-part episode.
“For Your Eyes Only” marks the one time Moore set his mind to playing Ian Fleming’s James Bond. Fortunately, he had John Glen to give him a shove in that direction; rather like Bond kicking Locque’s car off the cliff!
Fact, or opinion? “The Spy Who Loved Me” was a remake of “You Only Live Twice,” by the same director. Boring villain, wooden leading lady, and the tiresome, repetitive encounters with Jaws. For My Opinion Only!
Sorted by year and rating The Spy who loved me 5/5 stars For your eyes only 5/5 Octopussy 5/5 Moonraker 4,5/5 A view to a kill 4,5/5 Live and let die 4/5 The man with the golden gun 3,5/5 Greetings Roger James 🙋♂️
The editing in A View to a Kill is terrible. I can constantly see (very clearly) when Moore is being doubled. I know that you suspend disbelief watching these movies, but I had to suspend so much that it became exhausting. Also this movie made me cringe more than Moonraker or Octopussy with it's so-called humor. It is the worst Bond movie from EON period.
Interesting way of looking a "Moonraker" or most Roger Moore Bond films...as "campy...cheesy"....i just saw then as a more light-hearted approach....some comedy....they also had the "essential elements" (e.g. exotic beautiful women...that looked like Supermodels (a fefw were)"...villain in sace0--that's how a villain should be depicted--untouchable....with lairs almot impossible to get to....missing from Brosnan/Craig Bond films.......Craig didn't even look like "Bond"--looked more like a henchman... Brosnan films "less-epic" Bond films..lower budget...less "world class beauties".....one per film??
Thank you so much for the comments, Moore is the Bond that I grew up on, he is the quintessential Bond, His movies do have a dated feel today which is not a negative thing and Daniel Craig certainly was missing quite a few of the Bond characteristics to say the least and was not the best choice- his time was hit and miss for sure. Moonraker for me was a personal favorite as a kid - I was born in 1972, but as time has passed, the silly plot of the main villain, the space lasers and Jaws returning and ruining the menace that he brought to the screen with The Spy Who Loved Me- not to mention the slower first half of the film made me decide that this one should be 7th place. I actually will watch this one before Live and Let Die, it is still entertaining. Timothy Dalton is another Bond that I shall tackle soon- he was a disappointment to me in 1987 but I must say has grown on me more over the years. Daniel Craig had the benefit of being able to star in Casino Royale and it was for the most part one of the only films to follow the source material - this made for a great film - but I must say that I like some camp and over the top elements in a Bond film that add some fun- and this was missing from his films. Pierce Brosnan had some of Roger Moore's charm and could carry the action a bit better and I like his films. Goldeneye was my first movie theater experience for Bond films, and it did more to revive the franchise than any others since. The one per film "Bond Girl" approach I think was maybe to be more politically correct in the 1990s. Thanks again and I hope you stick around a check out my other upcoming Bond videos.
4 out of 10, may be your rank was all for Craig Movie as Bond. You are sick with your long hair!!! This is a golden era of Bond Movie which had 8-9 in average
Thank you for your comments, it means a lot to hear feedback from you. I appreciate your watching the video and I have grown up with Roger Moore being the quintessential Jame Bond. I will be getting the next Bond video into production soon.
Moonraker is fantastic

Moonraker is the last Bond film I saw at the theater. That should say something.
That one has not aged well- It's a bit campy. I do think they nailed the look of the Shuttle and its launch- They used salt as the smoke.

Agreed because The Spy Who Loved Me is Roger Moore's best Bond film. Whether you agree with it or not that's fact.
It was his Magnum Opus- yes, absolutely! I do think that For Your Eyes Only is his most grounded film in his tenure as Bond.
Fact, or opinion? “The Spy Who Loved Me” was a remake of “You Only Live Twice,” by the same director. Boring villain, wooden leading lady, and the tiresome, repetitive encounters with Jaws. For My Opinion Only!
Ah…The Roger Moore era. 😔 respect to those that endured.
LOL, yes- they are definitely Bond camp in the Adam West sort of way.

I have no favorite Roger Moore Bond film. He should have stuck to The Saint.
I actually am a fan of the Saint and collected the series on DVD- Great old show. He was a perfect Simon Templar.
