How on earth does she act like that?? Half teary eyes on command, the portrayal of someone trying so hard not to tear at 02:25, is too perfect. She's a genius!
Thing is, I think whatever she wanted to say did not go quite that deep or straightforward. It´s decive that he speeks and you can see her feelings. First she is touched that he likes her so much and realizes that she is nice to him as well. When he then talks about their potential future (that he himself invisions for them), she is touched deeply, because she loves him and wants what he says so badly. Sarah is happy that Chuck appreciates her protection ("constantly saving my life") and likes that Chuck wants to know things about her ("no covers, no lies", "it would never really be real, I´d still never know anything about you") but she also knows what he says its true ("somewhere in Paraguay...") and that as a Spy she has to keep secrets from him, not let him in on her true feelings and so on. She wants to hear about "some stupid thing that Morgan did" and wants to tell him of "[her] first love" and now knows that Chuck has realized it will never happen. She tries to hide and defend by saying that he will forget her, but when they go inside she looks back, seeing how he again invisions the future, imagining for moment what it would be like to really have her there with his family as his real girlfriend. Sarah knows this and loves him for it. At 3:13 you can see how she realizes the realness of his wish for her to really be his girl. Such an incredible scene....
I think, considering this scene in it's context, it might be similar to what he said, but not quite as open or direct. Chuck is affected by Bryce's and Awesome's words, thinking about how Sarah is a spy and how she is in danger and he himself wants more than just a cover relationship. He realizes that it will never work like this and gives this speech here. Sarah is affected by what happened on the two missions before. She went to save Chuck when protocol would have told her not to, and couldn't take the shot, fearing to miss and shoot him instead. When trying to justify herself to Casey he just acts as if nothing happened (probably wanting to keep working with her and Chuck, thinking that she is a great partner). Afterwards when meeting here with Chuck I think she wants to say something similar as what she said to Casey, "I can protect you, I want to protect you", probably having to make clear however, that as a spy she is not supposed to date him. She clearly wants to however. To conclude, I think Chuck is emotional and sad here, but Sarah is even more so. She likes alot what Chuck is saying here. She can't even speak and looks almost fearful at what is to come after his first words. I think even she (she know that she is attractive, can have many men and that Chuck likes her alot) might be slightly insecure of getting together with him. She is worried that she can not be a part of Chuck's life, can not give him what he needs. Hence, the "you will forget all about me line" (this is, when she is done with the job and has to leave him). She fears that what he says will provr true, but is also extremely touched and perhaps a bit happy, that he thinks like that of her. When looking over her shoulder you can clearly see her positive feelings overweigh, wondering if she can really "have him" one day. She wants to be a part of his life, wants what he envisions, which is why she gets sad when he said they "can never have a future together". Decisively, however, later it is "some stupid thing" of Morgan, that she wants to listen to (several times before as well). She later fullfills this dream and really is there for him just as he imagined. :) He, also, will not forget about her even when all hope seems lost. He comes back, knowing who she is, better than herself and they fall in love again :) This scene foreshadows so much :) and is even more meaningful, sad and beautiful in retrospect.
this is one of my top five fav scenes that yvonne and zac have done. it is so raw, so real, they portrayed the characters of chuck and sarah sooo well!
As much as I love this song it’s really the look between Sarah and Chuck right before the fake smiles and the look Sarah shots him in Ellie’s kitchen that really drives home this scene

In the end, many of what we all just want is someone to love us. Not a front we put on, not something we’ve done or do for them, and not our accomplishments; what truly makes us feel whole, is when not only we can accept ourselves for who we are and be grateful for it, but when we connect with others and love them for who they are and have that same love shared with us. I wish the world was as genuine as their “fake” relationship, I wish we could trust others would always love us like they seem to, and I wish there was more light in the dark.
Prague was actually the fourth time Sarah is broken hearted over Chuck. The first was his question about whether THE KISS was about him, this scene was the second, and when he tells her he can't move in with her is third.
Sarah was going to make sure Chuck knew they could not have a relationship either, because she has to protect him. Chuck just found a way to say it first because he was trying to protect her feelings.
Just realized that everything Sarah said turned back to her. In the end, she forgot all about Chuck while he took the Intersect out of his brain (and inside his brain once again).
Not really. Even when she was being manipulated by Quinn, there are many indications that she knows there's something not quite right with what he tells her. And even in the courtyard, when she tells Chuck she doesn't remember her feelings for him, it's pretty obvious by her glances, tone, and body language that she doesn't mean what she's saying. That's exactly how most of their conversations during the first two seasons went, too. Chuck just was always oblivious to that, up until she asks him to tell her "our story."
Her heart is breaking here. She tries to say that he will forget her, because she knows how much she loves him, and she is just crushed. In my mind, her sense of duty won't let her express her feelings for him. She has been trained to think that her judgment would be affected and it would put his life at risk. But they figured it out. A much better show than it appears.
On an umpteenth watch, I realize, maybe it was tough for her to take and that´s why she didn´t answer real, despite her liking what he said at first. It just hurt her, because she knew he had a point. Glad he was wrong, though.
Honestly, I always had trouble taking them seriously because I know how much she would keep him in the friendzone in real life. But if you don't care about whether it's realistic or not, yes, this scene is quite touching.
@@phago7867 I mean come on, I'm a guy but I think Zach is a good enough guy in every way. They are not together of course in real life but I highly doubt it has anything to do with his looks or personality. And if you mean that if Chuck and Sarah were real people in real life, like a handler and an agent, then again Chuck is a good enough guy.
You know, Sarah, in a few years... When you've long since fallen in love with Chuck and you two have become the most amazing, awesome, perfect couple the world has ever seen... When you have the life you never knew you wanted but now wouldn't give up for the world... Someone's going to take your memory away and you'll forget all about Chuck. And all hearts will be broken. The end. I wish I could seriously doubt that something like that would ever happen - if only it hadn't. Because honestly, that's a really crappy pointe for a love story.
SingenStatt Atmen She does get it back eventually as the signs were there, she remembers how Chuck disarmed the bomb using the porn virus, even their names etched together on the wall of their future house was a memory trigger for her. The song that plays at the end " Rivers and Roads, Rivers and Roads, Rivers til' I reach you" even symbolises that, and this is not fan fiction on my part. The creator of the show confirmed this. I just wish they had shown a more absolute ending instead of the nolan-esque ambiguous shit they pulled 😭
For me the ending just meant that they have to start back at square one. It might take them a few years to get back to where they were in their relationship but I always believed in my heart of hearts that after that kiss on the beach in the finale, regardless if sarah's memories returned or not, they spent the rest of there lives together and in love
Yvonnes acting here so perfect... portrays Sarah’s emotion so well. Love in her eyes

I’ve watched chuck 6 or 7 times and it never gets boring
Always wondered what Sarah was gonna say to Chuck before he started first
Yes... exactly... gosh this video is so touching...

same ! and I'm a guy
@@Antoinebech being a guy doesnt matter-this is touching
"I seriously doubt that."
What a wonderful actress to be able to express all of those myriad of feelings with out saying a word.
Course so could Zachary,
These two
I love the way his voice breaks when he says "and I want more than that"

levi is a hell of an actor
SaSSolino 8 Well it's Strahovski that stands out in this scene for me. Look at her facial reactions, that's the sign of a good actor.
+Paulie Walnuts Yeah especially around 2:26
This is such an emotional investing scene and I don't even know why.
