Chandros Evans no incorrect it’s all WB’s fault because they didn’t want burton to come back & do a third film at all because they had a lot of complaints from parents about Batman returns on how it’s too dark & scary for the kids etc etc & also McDonald’s went & fucked it up as well by bitching to WB about the happy meal toy line for that time for the movie & it was Keaton who was actually trying to reason with WB to get burton back & do a better script for a third film with Keaton & Michelle Pfeiffer coming back as catwomen with burton directing but WB very very stupidly said no to burton & no Keaton he pretty much was vouching for burton & Vice a versa for burton but as we know we got the shitty end of both the two crappy films after this movie

This is exactly an aspect that is not given enough attention, perhaps even in comics: Batman *is* supposed to be a great gumshoe, with an eye for detail and good investigation skills. After all, DC does stand for Detective Comics. In actuality, Batman is supposed to be the ledge that an investigator needs to lift up an obstacle that they wouldn't be able to take on within the confines of the law.

A very solid sequel to Batman, a more darker, more violent and more atmospheric with a lot of style. I don't understand why some hate the movie for its more darker brutal elements. What the filmmakers were going for is a more darker, more violent and more fearful take on Batman and they did a fantastic job on it. Michael Keaton is soo damn awesome as Batman I wish he had his own Batman trilogy instead of 2.

    • @Shanethefilmmaker
      @Shanethefilmmaker 6 років тому +69

McDonald's. That's the answer to that question. While the first one had dark elements in it, it wasn't enough to scare kids. So Bats, Joker and the like were able to sell movie based merch in McDonald's. However they upped the ante making the scenes more scarier and sometimes even more sexual. And McDonald's advertised the tie-in toys before the movie was out. So needless to say, kids were hyped, parents were paying and they took their kids to the movie. They got scared, parents complained and Tim and Mike were fired as a result. Kinda Ironic, McDonald's nearly cost Michael Keaton a career and now he's famous for playing the guy that cost the McDonald Brothers a restaurant.

Are you saved friend? If you died tonight will you go to heaven or hell?
God Almighty, the Creator was manifest in the flesh. He came into the world to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save yours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for your redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Those that reject redemption will go to hell.
      John 1:1-3,10 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
      Isaiah 44:6 KJV
Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
      Revelation 1:17-18 KJV
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
      Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
      Acts 4:12 KJV
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
      John 5:24 KJV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
      Matthew 28:19-20 KJV
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

This is hands down the best Bruce Wayne and Alfred scene in the entire movie, the dialogue exchange between these two is straight up gold and there's such a warm quality to their chemistry, its not a man and his butler, its like a father and son interaction. The minimal use of music playing quietly in the background really adds so much to this especially when Bruce is driving through the snow in the Batmobile as Batman and when he's staring through the window at the Penguin with those eyes, its like reading the pages of a comic book. I actually like how Keaton played Bruce Wayne as a quiet and unassuming figure, I don't prefer it to the comic version, but it's still an interesting take. The cut from normal Bruce speaking calmly in the Batcave to Batman growling in the Batmobile is very striking.
Also, I like how he seems disappointed when he confirms that Penguin isn't what he seems, in the earlier scene, he seemed to feel some level of kinship with him as a fellow freak who lost his parents, he clearly didn't want to be right in his suspicions.

The complexity...in this scene, we thought batman is in doubt of penguin because of his instinct and wisdom tell him something's wrong. Well, he IS the greatest detective after all.
But in the final showdown, the movie gives us a hint that batman might felt jealousy toward penguin. Because he is a freak without a mask but still loved by everyone. (for a while, at least).
Because of that, he didn't WANT to believe penguin is a good guy from the beginning. He just couldn't accept it. That's why he tried to dig up his past, and eyeballed him with so much suspicion and despise...

As soon as Alfred made a small bit of sense, Bruce accepts it completely and forgets about it instantly because he trusts Alfred more than anyone in his world. He didn't give his opinion on it or make any remarks about it. He instantly humbles himself and continues eating the soup. Almost feeling foolish because he caught himself being a snob for a split second 🤣. It shows Bruce's humility and instant sense of logic always overcoming his own desire.
