You do good work.
Nice hair, too. 🖖
I just got criterions Once upon a Time in China collection !!! You would love it Jeremy if you haven't seen them, it's pure cinema 🤗
So John Wick meets Taken?
Are you going to do a brutalist review?
I know that thumbnail face. That's "I tried hard to like ya, but you didn't give me a reason to" Jeremy.
😂😂😂😂😂
And that makes me sad, I really really wanted this to be good.
@@monsternside1509you could still find it good if you haven't seen

“I kinda wanna see Action Movie: The Movie now.”
They did that in 1993. It was called Last Action Hero.
I love that film.
That was a really good movie. Loved it
@@call_me_akayz
This film was way ahead of its time.
Yep, that was as meta as it gets. Love that film.

To be or not to be. Not to be!!!
From the very first trailer it was pretty clear they were going for the tone of Jackie Chan's early 2000's movies when he really started to play up the comedy slap-stick in the martial arts choreography. Rush Hour, Shanghai Noon, The Tuxedo, The Medallion, etc. They're just leaning on the John Wick level violence.
They should really lean into something like Rumble in the Bronx or Who am I? If they want something that can be enjoyed on a massive scale
My thought the whole time I was watching it was if Rush Hour era Jackie Chan made John Wick
Well that's a problem. Jackie Chan style movies were never overly violent so clearly those tones don't mix
@@DeMarcusFountain-sv6fi exactly this would've been better as a pg 13 movie
And it succeeds as a John wick Style film with Jackie Chan style comedy mixed with romance and it's a great fucking watch! I think Jeremy been a little too fucking picky!
I never imagined as a kid that one day I would hear the words “academy award winner Ke Huy Quan” and “academy award winner Brendan Fraser”
I never imagined as a kid that one day I would completely avoid watching any award shows. I stopped watching them all about a decade ago.
Im Just wondering what kid is thinking about academy awards lol i know i wasnt
Emilia Perez
@@libertarianeval6460 so u as a kid were expecting to hear oscar winner j l curtis? So u expected that would happen? Which film with curtis u saw as a kid made u think so???
@@jarchackI didn't even watch them as a kid lol but you don't hear those phrases just on awards shows. They mention the academy award winners in movie trailers all the time
Ke Huy Quan and Brendan Fraser are 2 of the most deserving guys in Hollywood right now. Both deserve better scripts that can showcase their acting strengths. So glad to see them getting their flowers.
I’d really like to see Brendan get in shape. I hear people say he’s too old and injured but after 10 years in the military and many injuries, I can definitively say being overweight is the worst thing you can do
+1
Never been overweight.
The only 2 health risk I actually fear are cancers and being overweight.
Both start slow, and by the time you figure it out, it's already too late for most. @@RyanMosey
@@RyanMosey It’s not just “people saying” he legit destroyed his body for the mummy movies, by the third one he was basically held together by duct tape and hope. He can’t just hop on a treadmill and lose a few pounds, be glad he’s able to do what he’s doing.
I saw him in a miniseries, Trust, a few years before The Whale came out. He had the best version of the "Mine's bigger" trope that I've seen.
@@logandh2 He could eat less, though.
maybe it’s not the best but i’m 100% here to support ke huy quan’s career comeback
💯
saaaame
I worry though it becomes pandering to him cause hes a nice, kind hearted asian guy. Like. Just cause he can act, doesn't mean he can act in every role.
@ As an asian american who has empathy for his journey, yes i’m going to support an asian actor and for having opportunities that he didn’t have 30 years ago. Support also doesn’t mean free from criticism
Seeing Ke Huy Quan back on the big screen again is a real treat.
JJ: word of advice if you..
Me: NO!!!

Not joking!

Everything Everywhere All at Once
Still slaps
@elijah0208 bit of a silly reason to not want to watch a video
Not sure why everyone is going ape shit over him. He’s a pretty one dimensional actor if anything.
Review starts @ 1:17
Ngl I think ke should start doing more action comedy similar to 2000s Jackie Chan because he honestly feels like this generations Jackie and has that charisma
Just watching a few moments of the trailer in this here video I was getting Jackie Chan vibes. I wouldn't be opposed.
He looks like Jackie Chan
@@everythingisawesome2903 kinda but like young Jackie from the 80s
The former hitman/criminal having his past come back to bite him is a genre I do not get tired of. John Wick, Nobody, very good.
Unforgiven, Logan, there's so many and they're great!
It's even in manga and anime in a series called Sakamoto Days.
R.E.D and R.E.D 2 are pretty enjoyable as well
A History of Violence
Warrior putting down the sword for the plow and then having to pick up the sword again is probably a story older than dirt. A literally timeless classic.
Everyone should watch this in support of ke huy quan. The man deserves to have continued success.
watch me, I really need support
Nah. Make better movies, then we will
this is America.. are you kidding me🤣🤣🤣
I really wish trailers did not give away the whole movie. That is at least half the reason why I do not go to the theaters anymore. They leave absolutely nothing to the imagination anymore.
Piss poor excuse 🤣
Then show up to the movie 15-20 minutes late
While they sometimes give away too much of the plot, THEY ARE ONLY A FEW MINUTES OF THE MOVIE MAN.
Just don’t watch trailers and go by word of mouth and reviews? 🤷🏼♂️
"one of the films of all time."
Deadpan delivery.
Definitely laughed out loud, enough my wife asked from the other room "That good, huh?"
Funniest thing I've heard this year.
Damn, I hope Quan gets a project worthy of his talents. "Everything" was such a great comeback, I'd hate to see his career fizzle out now.
I think he'd be great in something more thoughtful and emotional. Like "Her".
Ariana Debose needs a new agent. Her post Oscar filmography has been dreadful.
- Wish
- ISS
- Argyle
- Kraven The Hunter
- Now this.
She’s good in west side story but definitely one of the lamer acting Oscar wins in the last few years. It was a purely campaign-driven award that had buzz in the moment, nobody actually talks about that performance anymore. She’s more famous for that cringe “Angela Basset did the thing” song at this point. I’m not really sure the people are clamoring to see her in more good roles, if I was her I’d just be happy to be steadily landing roles in things people are watching, good or bad.
I recently learned of the Supporting Actress Curse, about how actresses who win, well, the Best Supporting Actress Oscar have a really shit time of it career-wise after their win. Like, one film studio will say "you won an Oscar so you're too good for this film", whilst another will say "you won an Oscar but it's only Supporting, you're not good enough for our film" (maybe not in those _exact_ words, but that's the gist of it). Looks like it's happening to Ariana, sadly.
Wish had the potential to be something great but was the result of too much studio meddling. But finding out through Screen Junkies she was Kraven the Hunter? Yeesh. 😬
What movie did she win an Oscar for?
@@ChildOfTheFlower Supporting Actress for West Side Story in 2022.
This movie is why they need to bring back the double feature in the theaters. This would work well with another short schlocky film but who would want to pay full price for 80 minutes of this?
Get a membership to your local cinema and you can see it as part of that
AMC A list is 20 a month and I can see 4 movies a week included. 20 bucks is damn near 1 fast food meal now. Or I can watch 16 movies at the theater. 🤔
@ where I’m from 20 USD isn’t even enough for a fast food meal lmao and I Payton equivalent of $18.50 in my country for the membership, I can see every movie, but can only see them once, no limit on how many movies a week.
Even if I'm gonna end up not liking the film, I'll still watch it for Ke Huy Quan.
The poster for this movie says "Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan" and "Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose", as if this is supposed to be a prestigious movie.
Seriously l, what is Ariana Debose doing with her career making crap movie after another coming off of winning an Oscar. She needs to fire her agent like right now.
@@lawrencepalacios5809 she's just working
HaHa. American cinema is really deteriorating.

Local internet man learns about movie marketing
We need an Indy spinoff. Give us a Shortround movie
Yeah, they should’ve passed the torch to him in the last Indy film. Having a standalone Short Round film set in the 1970’s would be cool.
@@shokwave00If you take out Helena/Teddy and replace them with Shortround, Dial of Destiny becomes a MUCH better movie. They really fucked up.
Little sad to hear this cuz I love seeing Huy Quan get work in Hollywood. I want his star to keep rising.
I'd be surprised if 'Love Hurts' by Nazareth doesn't play in the credits
Sadly it didn't
Love Hurts by Incubus??
At the premiere a Goonies cast reunion happened. 40 years later.😊😊😊
4:15 I could honestly see Keanu Reeves himself picking up "Action Movie: The Movie." 😆
Made by rocket jump gang. It fits their humour.
1:55 It's also worth mentioning this movie was produced by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, Bullet Train, The Fall Guy...). 😉
Yeah, it’s produced by his studio 87 north
Yeah that’s not raising any eyebrows, his style sucks
Producer doesnt really hold much weight to a movies quality though
@ This movie was made like entirely in house of 87 North. Leitch probably hired the director of this film and hand selected the script, gave it notes and got any changes he wanted.
Jeremy gives everything you need about the review in the thumbnail itself.
"What is it you do here" is one of my favorite recurring lines
“YOU CALL HIM DOCTOR JONES, DOLL”
Booked to watch this movie on Saturday. Looks fun.
Thank you Jeremy.
It’s fun , don’t think too much into it just go have a good time
When I think of the past coming back to bite a former killer, the movie A History of Violence comes to mind. That movie was only occasionally violent but when it was, it hit hard!
Simple plot. Good action. That's all I need
I want Ke Huy Quan do a movie with Jackie Chan. Turn the action comedy kung fu to the max.

I think I'll just rewatch Nobody again. Really do hope that gets a sequel sometime... before Christopher Lloyd ends up in a casket.
It’s supposed to come out later this year
They recently wrapped filming here in Winnipeg for 'Nobody 2'
99 cent Jackie Chan. Haven’t seen the movie but the face similarity is uncanny. Reason why Jackie’s movies were fun was because he’s a martial artist with comedic timing, while this looks like it’s the reverse.
You know what you've sold me we need more low budget. Reasonable runtime action movies
The best Valentine's Day anything is the I Choo Choo Choose You episode.
I hope Ke Huye Quan gets good movies.. he is one hell of a talent. He was incredible in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie and Hellraiser are back in theatres and today is their last day, folks. Check em out if you get the chance! (I know this is a weird comment but this felt like a group that would appreciate knowing this and from the amount of seats taken up in my theater for Cowboy Bebop im not really sure how many people actually heard about this, lol.)
Jackie Chan movies are a great study in mixing action and comedy. I'll rewatch one of those.
This is what I'm wanting out of a review. So many people decide to not pick, but this felt like you were giving thought and discussion to what was right and wrong with the film.
I gotta say. The “Action” alone is enough motivation to see this in theaters. I really liked it. It doesn’t disappoint in that department in the slightest
HELL YEAH I didn't know you were a hawks fan! Love it dude! My friend took a pic with you in Seattle (I think, or tacoma) but I'm glad you're a fan 💚💙💚💙
Ke Huy Quan is also a fight choreographer.
6:48 John Wick IS a better Valentines Day movie.
You're right about the daredevil/bullseye fight.
Felt so tense in a way film scenes struggle to match
I will see it just because it was filmed in Winnipeg. We seem to be the spot to film these kinds of movies ( Nobody, Violent Night, etc) 🍁🍁🍁
1:45 you mean “Nobody”
No, I think he meant what *he said* .Feel free to disagree, but if he meant something else, he would've said something else. Especially after noticing it while editing.
@ calm down, you need to log off and think about why you’re taking someone you don’t knows comment on the internet so seriously.
Or History of Violence
Man, way 2 GO KE HUY QUAN!!! 😁😁😁 You are killing it to the point where you have essentially made it to the point of BILLIONAIRE!!! 🤑🤑🤑
BTW, I'm digging the post-video stingers in the past couple of vids. Keep 'em up.
That sponsor set up was too smooth.
I still want to see all those action scenes, especially key hu Quan doing them. I'm legitimately rooting for him as well so I'm going to see you in the theaters. In another universe, this movie got an awesometacular
You know, Ke Huy Quan reminds me of Jackie Chan, and I really dig that, it's a niche we really need filled these days!
Couldn’t sit through more then 20 minutes; your reviews have gotten better; how do you get the product endorsement gigs?
Nice segue for your sponsor! Also. . great review!
Waitin for, "Shortround & Indys Last Crusade"
The office parody was on point lol, voice acting Jeremy?
I haven't seen that style of ad read. I still skipped it but at least you got it over with at the beginning.
Can you review Heart Eyes?
I disagree, the movie was actually really bad ass and romantic and it's a quick, entertaining watch and Ke is a badass martial artist reminiscent of Jackie Chans early work!
Please watch severance you are going to love it
You're about the only youtuber ill actually watch the sponsor portion of
“I’m just here so I don’t get fined!” 😂
incredible ad transition 0:08
A 53yr old asian man with a 34 yr old black female love interest doesn't spell chemistry. She also looks younger than 34 and he looked older than 53. You don't buy it at all.
Don't care if some folks don't buy it, such romances actually do exist.
@Tone_Of_Dials That's not the point.
I actually like the side romance with Mustafa Shakir's character. I get the hit man with the heart of a poet is a trope, but it's a fun one.
That was better than the main romance. They had better chemistry.
I like that he's an action hero that doesn't really want to hurt anyone, even the bad guys. Just a nice guy in the wrong line of work.
Just finished rewatching Dare Devil. Had to rewatch The Punisher as well.
I've watched the Defenders since it follows from season 2 leading to season 3 of DareDevil
Gracias Jeremy 😊greetings from México
I surrendered to the total camp of the movie in the laundry room scene. I was confused with the plot at first, but left with a smile on my face and appreciation of the style. In the back of my mind, I kept wishing that I had watched Cantonese martial arts movies prior to watching this in order to compare the style of humor and action. I hope it becomes a cult classic, and I hope we see more of the lead actor Quan.
Another day, another epic Jeremy Jahns review vid!
Nailed the sponsor info
Had this on in another Tab and hearing Jeremy say my first name before the Lynch part scared the shit out of me for a second 🤣
I would like you to review either The Last Action Hero or Hard Target ironically they both came out in 1993.
The great thing about this movie is we got a small John McGinley impression out of you. Worth it! ❤
This movie looks awesome thanks for the recommendation!
My favorite Valentine's Day movie is Duel (1971) from Spielberg. It is appropriate for any stage of a relationship.
I can't wait to watch this movie...'s fight scenes when someone uploads them to UA-cam.
This would have been one of those movies back in the day. Fun movie that is best to rent at the video store. This would crush as a video rental
I watched the sponsor bit just because that intro was fire. 😂
The reason this genre of old retired guy comes back to be badass works is because it makes us feel like Gandalf said "screw the hobbits, I'm doing this one my self".
I don't currently have a favorite Valentine's Day movie, but I do have high hopes for Heart Eyes.
"One of the films of all time" ... LOL 😂😂😂 Good one.
I like Ke and I wasn't too drawn to this movie (only the fight scenes) but I'll see it on $6 Tuesday at AMC to support
Jeremy, please, please, can u do a movie review on Im still here ? I know, is not much your style jumping on the Oscars buzz train but as your Brazilian fan, i would love to know what will you think about the movie and your opinion
You gonna do Heart Eyes?? I went to see it last night, annnnnd was pleasantly surprised. Classic slasher horror gore, a bit of comedy throughout, cheesy villain story, very self aware...
I feel like youre a doctor and i just googled my symptoms and told you how to do your job.. lol..
I really enjoyed it!😂 I thought it wasn’t supposed to be taken seriously! Only thing I didn’t like was the boba kill!
"Action Movie: The Movie" was Shoot 'Em Up.
But seriously, I watched the trailer and laughed my butt off. It looks like everything I want in a guilty pleasure.
Wow, I feel old. Didn't realize this was Data from The Goonies until you pointed it out. I don't know if I can name anything he's been in since.

I watched a couple of trailers and they didn't show a love interest. I was thinking why is this movie titled Love Hurts? It just seemed strange to me
You should review the new Jurassic World trailer. I’d definitely love to see what you have to say man!
For me my favorite Valentine’s Day movie would be either La La land or the princess bride
