      lol, I used After Effects today, and it’s not even using the GPU from my 32 core M1 MAX 64gb chip.
      So it was an awful experience… I used it because there were some templates I just got and wanted to try them out

    One thing I don't understand on Resloive is: Non auto backups. And the undo steps sometimes just don't work. This can be very frustrating if you do something for the first time, then mess up the whole video editing and have to restart from 0.

    • @dunnadidit
      @dunnadidit  Рік тому

      DVR has a live save feature you should definitely look into. And another auto backup option too.

    • @MSVISUALS
      @MSVISUALS 9 місяців тому +1

      IIRC, the undo is page-aware, means that if you change something on the edit page, switch to the color page and then notice, you messed something up on the edit page, you can't undo it from the color page, you have to switch to the edit page instead. Hope that helps! ✌️😊

    Disable unused clips, so DaVinci is processing clips underneath that have no relevance? I suppose premiere does this but it really doesn't make sense it shouldn't matter if I have one track or 500 tracks if only the top track is being seen that should be the only thing being processed.

  • @GreggInkCodes
    @GreggInkCodes Рік тому +8

    When I edit (I use Lightworks) I like things to be simple. So when things reach a certain level of complexity, I render the video and import the rendered video into a new project and keep working on that. This means that my timeline never gets crazy complicated.
    Is that a good trick or am I crazy?

    • @animealpha4795
      @animealpha4795 Рік тому +3

      You’re crazy and that’s a good trick. I only do it when I’ve done such heavy effects that the playback is affected.

    • @MaxHuisman
      @MaxHuisman 11 місяців тому +3

      You could also create a duplicate timeline and import that into another timeline. It's called a compound clip in Resolve, or "nest" in Premiere Pro.
      That way you can always go back in and change things. Plus when rendering you almost always downgrade the quality.
      If its for a heavy effect or transition on a clip, then you can always render it out in a good (uncompressed) editting format.

    Hey man im on windows 11 and for some random reason the color output after rendering, yt 1080p format or quicktime, has changed. I haven't changed any settings, all i can think of is some change in 18 > 18.5 that has changed it for me? Visually it seems that my clips after rendering show way more greyed out versions of the colors.
    Sorry if I am not using appropiate terms, i'm new to this stuff

      This is an ignorant and unnecessary comment... For example, I've been using Pro Tools as an audio editing software for nearly 20 years now. I've met other award winning professional audio engineers who have been using it for 10 years longer than me and I've shown them features they didn't know about and I've also met people who have been using it for only a couple years who have shown me features that I had never come across. These kinds of software are so vast and deep that you can use them for years and years, have no trouble creating fantastic projects and being perfectly efficient and still find features you've never come across before.
