My 2 reasons for wanting a Phd in ClPsy is 1. provide assessments to a population that is already underserved with limited resources 2. the research and experience under supervised professionals
I graduate with MS in school counseling next year. I can become an LPC and have private practice, but I want to be able to offer as much as possible for the population I want to work with.
Those are both amazing reasons!

9:28 -- Definitely a fact. I've seen some assessments go around $6k-$10k for a comprehensive neuropsych evaluation. It's also probably dependent on the area and clientele who are able to pay those amounts, as well as the work that goes into an assessment.
Are you serious? This is incredibly unrealistic info for the average clinician...
How do you manage to study this PhD and make money?
A PhD in Psychology is a great idea if you really want to graduate with $200,000 + in student loan debt and get an incredibly stressful job where you are exhausted and burned out within 2 - 3 years and can barely make your bills. Enjoy! Oh...by the way...I am a Psychologist...
Why did you initially want to get a Psychology PhD or go into psychology?
@@TivPatterson Hi. I have been a Psychologist for over 30 years and have had a good career. I enjoyed college courses in Psychology and the loans to complete a degree were high...but not as outlandish as they have become. Prospective students should be aware of the economics and emotional challenges of the profession. The academic programs do not adequately addresses this in their advertisements...
