To clarify. Oprah is from Arkansas, dolly is from Tennessee but instead from rural Pigeon Forge and your girl Tay Tay is from Pennsylvania. And the trick is that they soak it in hot sauce before they dredge it and potentially spice it again and then fry. I absolutely adore you! And dream of a way to get an egg tart here in North Carolina.
Not only do they soak the chicken in hot sauce, but you also take a couple spoonfuls of the hot fry oil, pour it over a pile of spices including a ton of cayenne, and then toss the fried chicken in the hot spice-oil mixture. Its why the nashville chicken is so deeply red.
Oprah is from Mississippi. Kosciusko to be precise. She moved to Nashville as a teenager to live with her father. Sometimes wherever people are when they graduate from high school, they will call their hometown even if they moved around some as a child. Elvis wasn’t born in Tennessee but they still claim him.

Not even close, that chicken looked like it was just lightly dusted with spices. Proper Nashville hot chicken is dunked or basted with a oil that is full of spices so that it really permeates the breading.
But they did the best they could with what they could find. It would be like me doing a video on fish n chips in Nashville, it might be close but it's not quite the same thing.

Like, the "top spiciest" sandwich they had only got the boys to have mild sniffles and grab ice cream. I'll bet the spicy chicken Josh and Ollie got in the Watcher collab was spicier.
Yeah, but try to remember they are in London/UK. They have to adapt foods to the area, I don't think most British people are going to be enjoying top level nashville hot chicken let alone something dunked in incredibly spicy oil and think "that looks good to eat" lol That being said, most of those chicken items just looked like they were "dusted" with seasonings or spices. I didn't see any oils or anything. So, I guess that might be "decent" enough nashville hot chicken in London, but for us here in the US, yeah no.
@@michellepusczak9257 I had a Carolina reaper hot chicken when I was in LA one time about 12 years ago. And I'm a chili head. @@nullakjg767 Japan is fairly tame on spicy stuff since they don't really have any native peppers, not nearly as bad as the Brits though. Thailand on the other hand has tons and are a large part of the food.
How do you know. I am British and can handle spice. You are going on hearsay and a few incidences on yt showing soke people can't handle spice.
As a Nashvillian, seeing those sandwiches hurts my heart.
thisssss
Im not from nashville and I can tell theyre just eating regular chicken sandwiches.
In the US a burger is ground meat (no matter the choice of meat). What they had in this video are called sandwiches here.
Only in the US. The rest of us including South Africa refer to these as burgers 😂
@@MsOrganiquethat’s why they said in the U.S.
@@MsOrganique By definition, the rest of the world is wrong. I tend to agree with the rest of the world but if we're going by the actual definition of a burger, they're wrong all day.
@@DoobieFergusonnot really. The sandwich was invented in England, and it was always something between sliced bread. Never a bun.
@@redeye1016 Yea I'm referring to chicken in between a bun. Obviously sliced bread is a sandwich.
Although being a yank, I truly appreciate Britisness, watching Max's face slowly turning red, and Ollie, , had me dieing XD, great episode.
Looks like the spiciest was about on par with the regular in Nashville. I’d like to see them try it in Tennessee!
A "burger" is called that because it's made of ground beef (hamburger), not because it's on a bun. A chicken patty on what would otherwise be a hamburger bun is a chicken sandwich, not a chicken burger. A chicken burger is ground (minced) chicken on a bun.
Love your channel, always brings a smile to my face!
That was hysterical! Thanks y’all!❤️🔥❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
I will be honest. I like Ollie's face when he eat something very delicious or super spicy. It's looked hilarious.
His skin gets red I’ve noticed!
he looks like wallace from wallace and gromit😭💀
As a Nashvillian who got to eat the hot chicken from Prince's Hot Chicken Shack, long before "Nashville Hot Chicken" became known world-wide, I thank you so much for including the history with Mr Prince. I think you're the first folks to give that credit where credit is due, and I thank you for that.
I love the fact that even though Prince's chicken is so very hot, it's also still really delicious, too.
Just beware, boys, it's hotter on the way out than it was on the way in, believe it or not.
So glad to see a video on Nashville Hot Chicken done right!
Love you guys, Josh, Ollie, Max, and nods to your cameraman & driver, too!
I’m an American, watching and laughing hysterically
Watching Josh, Max and Ollie rocking back and forth in unison on the backseat of a taxi because of the spicy sandwich was an experience. 😂
Oh my word - claiming Taylor as from Nashville when she was born in Pennsylvania............ Ollie needs to avoid all Swifties !!
Dolly Parton isn’t from Nashville either. She grew up in the mountains of East Tennessee in Sevier County. Dollywood is a theme park she owns in pigeon forge ( a city in sevier county), and you should visit! It’s a really neat place with fun rides. I went there just last week and tried to go on every ride, except the drop line ( I’m scared of heights). I go to the same Highschool that Dolly went to and she is honored here!
Yes another collab I never imagined! Though I suppose I should have 😂 Love y’all ❤
They've done a video before 😊
John is back !!! Loved the cab drivers series on Korean Englishman. We need more video with them ❤
That is Brit level. Hot should make your nose run. Good luck should be on the same level as those hot chicken feet you got in Korea a few years back. It's the color of blood
Brit level? Brits love spicy food what you on about 😂 why do you think they eat so much Indian food.
@@redeye1016 I think it's safe to assume that Mary Casanova herself has an incredible tolerance for heat, and that we should all aspire to that incredibly high level. Obviously, duh. Typical brit level on the rest of us
@@redeye1016they were complaining Popeyes was too spicy when it introduced into London lol
@@redeye1016 most of the indian food in the UK is made milder for the British palate
Good job guys! Always fun to watch y'alls reactions to different foods.
The greatest mistake was having it with soda. Spicy + soda = BIG NO NO. Next time have milk and peanut butter nearby :)
Milk doesn't work, you need sugar or beer.
When they went to South Korea with the rappers and they were howling from how spicy the skewers were, the vendor gave them peanut m&ms. I’ve been wanting to test it out 🤔
@@Mistype1080 update when you do. To me the peanut butter helps more than the milk.
UA-cam is really changing lives!
These guys are now celebs with millions of fans whereas 20 years ago they'd have bullied relentlessly.
Everyone was just a mess in this episode and that made the viewing experience absolutely lovely
❤🔥
Whenever the spicy food tune starts running in the background, you know it's gonna be a struggle 🤣
How did Britts go from controlling the global spice trade to 'oh I don't like spicy food'?
Ollie is hysterical 😂😂😂😂😂 and this video is hilarious 😂 😃 😄 thanks guys keep'em coming
Yeah that’s no where near the real deal haha hope they go to the US again and try some legit
It's all fun and games until the next day.
Sphincter flamethrowers!
Based on these reactions, I suspect that the “good luck” flavor is the correct level of spice for a Nashville Hot Chicken. It’s supposed to be hot!
7:26 "We made a candy floss out of the toe of Satan" sounded so badass
I love Ollie. He is so damn funny.
Max's face was FLUSHED! He is not about that life AT ALL! 😭😭
I dont doubt that is a good sandwhich but just by looking at it, I can tell its definitely not Nashville chicken. You guys bamboozled Max, lol. You need to take him to get the real thing!
I think he would die though!
Boys, y'all have me dying laughing. 😂 I love Josh and Ollie with all my heart. I am from Atlanta, GA USA 🇺🇸
I live for Ollie. He's the heartbeat of Jolly .
Nashvillian here of 15 years. Commenting to volunteer our fam to show y’all around some real Nashville hot chicken!!
🔥🐓
Love it. Will probably bring some similar content into our new videos. Eat in a taxi
I went to school with two of Mr. Prince’s grandsons and they are the OG for hot chicken. Unfortunately, the place they had in North Nashville burned down, along with a couple of other stores in that strip. You have to wait forever in line, but it’s worth the wait.
Is it just me or does this chicken look undercooked? 😅 1:03
THE TRIFECTA I LOVE YOU GUYS OMGGGGG
Josh is sweating profusely
, guest is bright red, Ollie is kind of…crowing? Lolol
Why did the taxi driver take the absolute biggest bite?!?! 😂😂😂😂
