Bottesini completed the compulsory six-year course at the Milan School of Music in just four years. He received a considerable amount of prize money for his extraordinary achievements. And he knew how to invest it very cleverly. With part of the prize money, the young man bought the Testore bass, which is still famous today. Carlo Antonio Testore made this instrument in 1716, and today a collector in Japan owns the legendary piece. According to Bottesini's own testimony, he originally found the double bass in a dusty theater that was about to be demolished. A bargain: About 900 lire cost him the good piece. A ridiculous price at the time. Happy Birthday, Maestro!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful performance, and for all the videos you've shared over the years. Your phrasing has so much clear intention and direction, which is very inspiring for all of us striving to make music that connects with others. I also really appreciate your attention to tone, both as a performer/bassist, and also as an audio engineer. It obviously takes significant skill and awareness to produce such a great tone, but also a similar amount of skill and sensitivity to capture it so well on a recording. So thank you again.
Greetings from the West Coast of America 🇺🇸 Bozo ! What a lovely day to listen to such perfectly beautiful music as I wrap Christmas gifts🎁 🎄 & await 🎅 Santa Claus's arrival ! Much love to you & your family, Sir.
Thanks a lot. I don't feel like playing many concerts anymore... but I still do some cool new projects here and there. Just check here and there my agenda on the website.
@@bozoparadzikcom Dear Bozo, if people like u stops to play before an audience, this world is lost. Please re-consider you thoughts. Anyway ignore my message if you just forgot to add "for the moment" after anymore! :-):-) Many thanks for this again-locomotivant wonderfull interpretation!

You are most welcome, dear mate 🤗 yes, it needs lots of work on tone and lots of experience to record it. And I am also always experimenting a bit
Lovely piece! This is my favorite from Bottesini. Nice interpretation from both of you (the pianist is very good). Congratulations!

Warum wird so wenig die wunderbare „Begleitung“ gewürdigt, das Zusammenspiel ist intensiv, genau, dabei miteinander der Musik nachhorchend.
