One of the few musicians who could sound so amazing, belcanto like, and beautiful with non dominant bow grip... You're deeply missed in this world, RIP
I didn't know that he was playing also with german bow, and it looks like he never did anything else in his musical life. This performance is simply spectacular. He will be deeply missed.
His Bottesini concerto #2 on the LSO channel has 2.8 million views. A couple of Mikyung Sung’s impromptu videos got over 1-1.5 million views on Facebook. On UA-cam her own concerto #2 (on the Contrabass Conversations channel) has a couple hundred thousand (but deserves a lot more), one of her Gliere Tarantellas has over 100,000.
I've forgotten the name for the wood plate behind the strings, (probably something fancy in Italian or French...), but he had no problem going right off of it to hit the high notes, good work.
I've never seen another bassist with the same aplomb on the instrument. I don't know if Ibragimov is the best bassist in the world, but he looks like the most relaxed. No one else makes it look as it easy as he does. By the way, this is not to say what he does is easy -- it's just that his technique is so massive that he looks less pressed than other players. Sort of like watching Roger Federer play tennis . . .
How about Mikyung Sung? (Or her brother Minje? Though I’m not always as enamored of his musical or phrasing choices.) Or Luis Cabrera? Not that I disagree that Rinat was a beast on the instrument and a fabulous musician (and a super nice guy). Just I know of a few others who are also comfortable and relaxed on the instrument, whom you might also appreciate. :)

It's so weird seeing Rinat play wth a German bow, but that doesn't change the quality of his virtuosic playing. Bravo to a flawless performance!
RIP MAESTRO

R. I. P. We love you, Rinat.
Bottesini chilling in heaven: "Shit....Rinat's on his way....better do some practice...."
You mean, he’s not good enough?
@@noebillon9949 i think he meant Bottesini was not as good as Rinat was.
@@Saulo_Roberto oh, I see...
I get it, but I’m sure that the person who literally invented the techniques used in this piece is most likely better
guys it was a little joke....think maybe something got lost in translation there......

Currently trying to learn this for my recital. Such a beautiful piece played by the master. Great study tool!
His overtones are clearer and more solid than my best pure, fingered tones!
The best of the best, thanks Rinot, rest in peace
Thank you, rinat.

Great, again!
GREAT!
Imagine if Mr Bottesini had written a fantasia based on La Traviata? It would have been phenomenal. Mr Ibragimov was a great player. Wow!!
Amazing!!!! :)
