One officer controlled an entire mob, not through violence but with behavioral tactics and incredible bravery. This is policing at its finest.

If he was a hero he wouldn't be leading rioters into the Capitol Building deeper into a staged live action set-up. Back up was only a couple flights of stairs up it seems. the cameraman confuses me a bit. im guessing he was inside the building prior to the breach, possibly some kind of journalist. but it seems like the officer followed the cameraman. usually in the movies this is the case, but a live "unknown" event. if the camera was from a stationary viewpoint and the police officer was caught in this heroic action. and all of these "posed" photos going around Is like some of these people wanted to be seen or were meant to be seen (horns guy, etc). apparently igor bobic is great with a camera and keeping the subject in focus. hats off, thats not an easy task.

While I watched the events unfold on the 6th, I remember feeling so bad for this officer, thinking that he was just being swarmed and could do nothing. After seeing all the follow up reports on his actions, I just want to commend Eugene Goodman for the hero that he is. I truly feel that Mr. Goodman saved the day at the Capitol. I know many others were heroic also, but I am just so impressed by Mr. Goodman's cool and calm actions. He is a true American hero!

If the officer would have engaged he would have only been overwhelmed by the mob. Instead, he was on his radio communicating the situation, and led the mob to a choke point where backup was waiting. One officer controlled an entire mob, not through violence but with behavioral tactics and incredible bravery. This is policing at its finest.

If he was a hero he wouldn't be leading rioters into the Capitol Building deeper into a staged live action set-up. Back up was only a couple flights of stairs up it seems. He would've stood ground, wasted some time arguing like they're told to in their handbook which is a stall tactic for back up to get to the scene, and he would've used pepper spray, and had his duty weapon unsecured from it's holster, ready for action, hands on. Police don't retreat, they hold the line. They're mostly brazen idiots with Batman utility belts equipped like wartime soldiers. That small corridor offered the perfect bottleneck to ward off a large group by one heavily armed man at the helm, until those dozen other cops showed up 20 seconds later.

Literally half the people in the comments are asking that, the cameraman is Igor Bobic a reporter who covers the capitol regularly and was filming the senate vote upstairs when this broke out. He was trying to leave by going down the stairs and ran into this.

the cameraman confuses me a bit. im guessing he was inside the building prior to the breach, possibly some kind of journalist. but it seems like the officer followed the cameraman.
usually in the movies this is the case, but a live "unknown" event. if the camera was from a stationary viewpoint and the police officer was caught in this heroic action.
and all of these "posed" photos going around Is like some of these people wanted to be seen or were meant to be seen (horns guy, etc).

While I watched the events unfold on the 6th, I remember feeling so bad for this officer, thinking that he was just being swarmed and could do nothing. After seeing all the follow up reports on his actions, I just want to commend Eugene Goodman for the hero that he is. I truly feel that Mr. Goodman saved the day at the Capitol. I know many others were heroic also, but I am just so impressed by Mr. Goodman's cool and calm actions. He is a true American hero!
