Real Life Full Size Enderman - Woodworking How-to (Minecraft)

- In this project I show a little about using a tablesaw and also how to use a 'brace' (hand drill). In case you were wondering about the drill bit, it's called an 'adjustable auger bit.' The enderman was finished with Gloss Black and Satin Black spray paint. If you are inspired to make a smaller enderman you can save yourself the time of making boxes and just use solid wood. I found that Minecraft builds are deceptively more complex than they appear.

Finally watched finish the video, and I must say that Enderman looks hella good! Had a gut feeling that the end would happen. haha. A pumpkin would do good in the hands of the Enderman if you had more time though.

really enjoy learning how to do all these amazing projects i have made most of them and am happy with them all.
Love the combination of matt and glossy paint, and the light behind the eyes was a nice final touch. I'd be thrilled coming across this fella on a Halloween night. You do an incredible job on planning your builds and give them a clean finish. Keep it up! :)

you can use spray adhesive to put that paper right onto the wood. it would make your life SO MUCH EASIER! keep up the great work!

For the eyes being washed out I think you could buy some purple/pink translucent plastic sheets and put them behind the eyes. That way the light will be tinted and won't overpower the printed eyes.
If you can't find purple plastic sheets then you could just use some colored markers (permanent would be best) and draw on some plastic sheets. You could add multiple layers to tint the light to your liking.

Do you think a 4x4 or other post would be a good substitute for making the arms and the legs to simplify? Or would that be too heavy on the arms?
+FARezDragon Go for it! If the wood was lightweight it could work. At least the legs would not be a problem using a 4x4. The size of the squares on mine are 1.5"x1.5" so that makes the arm and legs 3" wide. 4x4s are 3.5" wide so your enderman would be bigger if you didn't shave off the sides.

Awesome build!! When you use acrylic paint you should get an acrylic sealer, they come in both gloss or matte. Oil base or enamels you should use a sealer specifically for enamels or oil base paints. My experience is Home Depot has the two different types of sealers. I learned the hard way on a painting project, and have had success since using the right one. I hope this helps.

Really cool! not sure if you mentioned this in the video, I might have missed it, but it's actually about 2/3 size. Enderman are ~9 feet tall.
Anhhhh the end is the best if you're watching this video don't move fast on the video watch it all till the end is. Love the finished product amazing. Minecraft should have you as his chief producer. I know lot's people will buy this for sure.
Ahhhh but I think Minecraft is not worrying about in make more $$$ and give the fun more option when come to buy toys and home decor.
These are just suggestions and suggestions are like shoes if they don't fit then ya just don't wear them, You make great wood stuff i mean great! However I feel like you could cut the work the weight and the need for so much tooling by using MDF and LDF now of course for stuff like your wooden swords and sheilds the pine is going to be perfect . Painting you could save yourself some head ache by using acrylics and doing washes for color differences . Thank for your great vids !

if you seal ldf/mdf with a few layers shellac it could last quite awhile or even put vynil contact sheeting over it.there are many ways to seal mdf
For Halloween, make it hold a candy basket for the kids. And make it talk with motion sensors! If you can.

They make an acrylic clear coat, but I think it can yellow if you don't get the right kind.

you should paint the base so it will look like a dirt block. and for the eyes you couls put a purple light in it with shaded plexiglass ( use sanding paper on plexiglass smaller is the grain the more it diffuse the light.)

Never mix both different brands of paint because they can have a chemical reaction just like the black paint you use, or paint it in separate, use tape to design the pixel texture on its body and face, the primer it with brand A paint. Then when its dry take-off the tape to expose the UN-PAINTED part then use brand B paint to color the un-painted part I think that will work.

I took remote flashlights and put plastic clouded lenses and put in fish light and drew the shape of the eye out of plastic and made it harder and glued it on eye and I turned off lights pressed botton it was COOL

endermen are actually 9'5 to my calculations(which are somewhat accurate)
each pixel in a single block equals to 0.06 metres(one block is 16 pixels tall). endermen are 2.9 blocks tall which converts to 9'5ft :D i know this is late and probably not accurate but heck it'll do for me

Hey, I'm a huge fan of all of your videos... however I think a way you could get more subs would be to expand the area of your builds (in other words do something outside of Minecraft and Legend of Zelda). I would be ecstatic if you made a tutorial for making wand. Whatever you choose I have loved your videos so far. :)

nothing super specific but everything I have done with wands I have found that the harry potter design was both the easiest and normally most appealing. One thing to keep in mind if you do make a wand though is it looks a lot better if you cap the length at 13.5 in. or lower. For one if you make it any longer you look goofy trying to hold it and for two, well actually I can't think of another reason but I wouldn't make anything longer than 13.5 in. And with the staff would do LOTR based one.
