At the moment I think ToDo and/or Planner are great for personal tasks. The private plan in Planner is a good way to handle personal projects. Loop (I don't use it yet, but from what I've seen) it's a great way to share/delegate tasks to people without having to create lists/plans and give them access.
Good luck with that. Planner is good for task managements, but has a lot of limitations. The max number of buckets and tasks are 200 and 2000 respectively. So, keep that in mind if you need to create a lot of tasks. It would delete the tasks automatically and without a warning or an option to retrieve them. I learned that in a hard way.
One missing feature which is frustrating. Need to have a “cc/Info” rather than simply “assigned to”. Only “Assigned to” are provided notifications that the task has been created or updated. For others that need to be updated (but are not responsible for the task)…there is no way to auto keep them informed unless they are also “assigned to”. Really dumb oversight.
Boring stuff only Microsoft can do. What’s really the point of this, seen a thousand times made by others ? It’s like Loop : the promise is nice but no one understands it really. I’m a 365 user but I’m not ready to leave Todoist and Craft anytime soon for a MS alternative.
Help! I’m just starting the Teams planner and can not figure out how to search for a particular word in our planner tasks. I see the big search rectangular feature up top but when I put in a word to search and find throughout all the tasks, I don’t get results when I know that word was used.
How many Microsoft project management tools does it take to change a lightbulb? ... Just one, but you'll need three different licenses to figure out which one.
Nothing you explained is new. I have been using Planner for at least 5 years and the free version is the same piece of crap. I was waiting for the new version for months and am very disappointed.
I remember the days of Outlook 2003. It was magnificent: flexible, powerful, and integrated into the MS ecosystem. Then, for some reason, Microsoft killed it as a PIM and started making separate services that still haven't caught up to good old Outlook in terms of functionality
The people I worked with over the last 2 decades never really embraced anything more that managing everything in their inbox and calendar. I have started using old outlook tasks to manage my work. I can create a new task anywhere using Auto Hot Key, and also work through the reminders window blazingly fast also using AHK key bindings. There are no key bindings on planner and I have not tested a reminders window substitute.
too much going on and Teams is horrible. Feel like it’s somehow worse… nothing like a quick, straight-forward, minimalistic app for tasks and scheduling.
Having channels is one of those things that feels buried in Teams. It's so useful in Slack. Planner is ok but there was a moment when it felt like it was supposed to be replaced by Loop.
It is the most bulky ugly software I ever used. Still don't understand why microsoft had to kill wunderlist, and morphed it into this ugly to do app, and now it is linked with teams and this failed trello sibling called Planner. To me it will be en eternal question why huge companies like google and microsoft build such ugly and worthless productivity apps.
Relax with the speed of speech and cursor movement for a sec. Wayyy too fast. I’d rather have a twenty minute video I wouldn’t have to be rewinding than have a 10’minute video which I would rewind 15 times.

I like the new logo. It's close to showing the middle finger to clients, but far enough that QA and management never noticed. Love it.
haha
I need help , between loop , planner and to do in conjunction with teams … I need examples of how each app applies to PM work

Are you forced to use MS365 apps? If not, I highly recommend you use other PM software.

I may have missed it, but where can you run reports / export data to create reports in another tool (e.g. Excel)? Used to have that feature.
So happy I switched over to clickup for my business projects. This seems like more of the same as before.

thanks for the video. I just started a new job that has microsoft 365 and this will help me.
Love to see it, thanks.
Thank you - great clip! How do I copy / duplicate a plan in the new planner?

You once had a video of an app that you thought replaced (or seemed similar to) canva. Any chance you remember what app that is?
So the NEW Planner is exactly like the Old Planner, except it can only be accessed from the Teams app?
not even that. It was always available in Teams. I have bee using it everyday for the past 5 years and it is the same thing
How can i move a flagged email to a plan?

Tried using this and it was so buggy

Why the heck would you profile a competitor (Asana) when you are supposed to show Planner ? Annoying.

Nothing new. MS have just changed the interface only.
