Be sure to watch the whole video for some funny outtakes!!
It actually did make me chuckle and freaked me out to see frozen Han talking :-P
Lol I was also freaked out by the End
Hands down my favorite prop....it was mesmerizing for me. Slave I was a Xmas gift from Santa the year Empire came out and Solo in carbonite came with it. Now if only I can get my hands on a replica Taun-Taun with the guts coming out so I can shove Skywalker in it lol
Awesome build!😁👍🏿
That's unbelievably cool, good job 👍
Appreciate that very much!
Fantastic build Tony I need to make this as well to hide a door
Thanks Dennis! It was stressful but I'm very proud of the end result!!
Wow, that is awesome Tony!
Thanks R2!
Lol that was great, and it looks amazing! The Han Solo thing at end surprised me lol
Thanks Dave! Yeah, I laugh every time but that's just me... lol.
This really did turn out great! Perfect edition to your office!
Thank you Ron!!
Now we know where all the sand came from on Tatooine.... Tony was sanding and sanding.
Nicely done... Looks like from the set.
I believe you are correct haha! Thanks very much!!

Looks outstanding in your room Tony! Great job on the project man!
Thanks Brian! Appreciate your advice throughout the project bro!
Well done.
Thank you!!
Awesome job, looks amazing!
Thank you Wes!
Great job on the build and on the video. Entertaining and educational at the same time. I especially like the way you have it lit, with the light shining thru a grate.
Thank you! Yeah the lightning really adds to the atmosphere!!
I can easily understand why Anakin doesn't like sand 😅
Amazing build! One I need to save for a later date when I got the space
Haha I know right!! Thanks so much!
Yes dude. Love it. This is definitely a future project of mine.
Thanks! Can’t wait to see your version!!
Lol! What a great video. I've been waiting for this build.
Haha! Thanks Don!!
Love the build and the ending!!!
Thanks so much Shawn!
Great video looking forward to seeing part 2
Thanks so much!! I’m looking forward to making the panels haha!
Amazing Tony!
Thanks Mom!!!
0:23 I see you doing the sound effect for the saber being turned off. 🤣
Yes I totally did!!! Hahaha! I was wondering if anyone would notice that. lol
Really looks great! I also like your new camera position for your talking head segments. Nice change and attention to detail, Tony
Thanks Greg! Trying to keep it fresh you know? Appreciate the feedback!!
Looks awesome 👌 so much sanding!!! Move that Boba Fett helmet over there. 😆
Thanks so much!!!
The details of your space is so good!
Thank you David!!! Really appreciate the feedback!!
Epic build, my friend; it is looking amazing...The outtake at the end was hilarious!!
Thanks so much Aedo!
VERY nice!!!
Thanks David!!
Nice!
Thanks!
God that’s awesome man!!
Thank you!
I some how just ran across your channel! Awesome job! Let's stay connected! Take care!
Great to hear from you Mike!
This is amazing dude. I have always wanted to make one but like you said its always intimidated me, and not to mention its huge and finding a good spot for it is alot of planning lol. Thanks for the video and the recommendation for the cast itself!
Thanks so much! It’s definitely a commitment but you should go for it! Like I always say, Build with what you know and figure out the rest!!!
Thanks for sharing this video! I’m just about to begin my build and using the same cast from Wes. This helps visualize what’s coming up for me.
I may have to use the Darth Maul sanding technique using dual sanders! ;)
Hope it helps Tim. Dual sanders lol. Now that would be a trick!!
Scale looks great would work on color to match real Solo Carb
Thanks! The room lighting definitely changes the look but I’m happy with how it turned out. Appreciate the feedback!
I built one of these also, including the panels. Check out Fettronics for the lights in the panels, you won't regret it!
Excellent!!! The lighting kit is awesome! I have another video where I built the panels. ua-cam.com/video/EGYYxDyvXWY/v-deo.html
First comment! Another great video man!
Thanks Mauricio! What did you think of the ending?? I think it’s funny…
Loved that. When you walk into the room, do you ever say "Hannie I'm home"? ••• Thanks! PEACE!!!
No but I do sometimes talk to him lol!! But don’t tell anyone… Thanks for watching!!!
Good job. Cant find that here in Spain. The details are amazing. I know that I said this before, but that room is amazing!
Thank you Walter!!!
Needs more sanding...
yes... yes it probably does... lol
Hey Tony! Fantastic build man. Just wondering if there was a reason you used 1/2” MDF instead of 1/4” plywood like they mentioned on the HIC Facebook page?
Thanks so much!! Honestly I prefer mdf for the smooth surface and it sands easier. A lot of info that is on the fb page wasn’t available when I made mine. I probably would use plywood for mounting the cast since it all gets covered with the Carbonite texture anyway. Just didn’t realize it at the time.
@@DockingBay327Build sounds good! The MDF sure can put beautiful on yours. I’ll be doing the same. Thanks for the posts! Glad I found your channel

I'm happy to be here, and every support can help you on your channel.
Love the work so much.
The black wash you used, what was it?
I used a black water mixable oil paint with water to thin it out.
Sorry dude one more question… in the video it seems as though you’re putting a clear coat down before painting… is that the case? I thought it would go on after paint but before weathering. Thanks!
Yes, I put a clear coat on the drydex so it wouldn't wash away when I weathered it. Not sure why I applied it before painting though... it's been a couple years since I built this so I honestly don't remember lol! Thanks for watching!!
@@DockingBay327Build Haha yeah I know... Im a pain for asking you to recall something from 2 years ago. I put the clearcoat on after the paint and before the black weathering. Really appreciate your responding too. I love almost everything on your channel by the way.
What was the total hours for the build?
I'm not sure exactly but it took me about 5 weeks of nights and weekends. A labor of love for sure!
6 weeks on mine, the Elmers glue cure time and repeated applications was the largest time sink....well that and rl!
