When I was an elementary music teacher I had my students listen to several versions of this song for Halloween including ones by Johnny Cash, Vaughn Monroe, Frankie Laine, and others to see which one they preferred and why. Every class chose this version by Frankie Laine because they said it was the most expressive & they like the instrumentation, and the choir in the background. I remember this song from when I was a little kid in the 50s and my parents had the record. This was my favorite version back then & it remains so. Frankie Lane had a terrific voice and he also used to sing songs in cowboy movies.
My friend, Frankie Laine. I had the privilege of being a friend of this great man. A lovely human being, always knowing that it was his fans who had “made him.” RIP Frank…… my friend.
You prolly dont care but if you are bored like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my gf lately :)
Just love it you aren't home much this song I tried to commit suicide heard this on the tape so many years ago brought me back to reality thank God possessed song
I have an old 78 record of my Mom's. Don't remember the "A" side, but the "B" side is the one I am looking for - The Flying Dutchman". I would appreciate any help with this!
I was confused and disappointed, at the age of 3, why there was no Frankie Lane sitting on a horse with Rowdy Yeats singing with a band and back up singers at the beginning of the tv show. 📺 I had asked which actor was singing the son. Mother said, "None of them." What the heck...??? How to fool little children, lesson #1: NEVER HAVE THE SINGER'S FACE ON THE TV 📺 SHOW OPENING SCENES, not even in the cook's wagon.

The late great Incomparable Frankie Laine.
The best Entertainer of all time and sadly missed
I came here to watch him perform Rawhide. Cracks me up when he raises his voice on count em out ride em in.
Such Fine( Shivering) Frankie’s Voice Gives❤ Pure Chills❤👌
Such diction, as was the case of most singers of his era. The mumbling offerings of today's 'singers' don't bear comparison.
Grandissimo!!!! Alessandro Firenze Italy
Eén van mijn eeuwige en absolute helden wat zang betreft. Typische stem met zijn comboyliedjes. Fantastisch.
So great!
That audience didn’t deserve him! I would have lost my mind if he were singing Raw Hide in front of me!
