Samantha Mangipano No joke, I stopped using Burt's Bees after trying that lip balm. They're from Meow Meow Tweet, a company that makes products in cardboard and glass packaging and they are one ounce / 28 grams. I bought mine in March 2018 and I'm still using it now. It's vegan and available in delicious flavours.
I think Joyce did a great job. 🤷♀️ Auri (sp?) already has so much of what she got Joyce, that's why she asked her not to spend anything. I thought she really thought about her friend and gave of her resources to benefit a friend. ❤❤❤
what Joyce did was so good for the environment! If she had gotten auri a bunch of zero waste swaps it would’ve been bad for the environment. Like auri said, u don’t need to buy anything. Auri already has everything she needs for a zero waste lifestyle!! If she got her things she already had it would be wastefulz
I wish I had a friendship like you guys, i went vegaterian, and started doing zero waste and my old freinds just made fun of me and made vsco girl jokes
Just make fun of them for spending money on stuff you don't have to buy cuz you're zero waste... If nothing else, you'll have more fun during those conversations.
I think it was also about how you don’t need to get new things to be zero waste like she repurposed a lot of the things she had which was what Auri wanted from her from the beginning
My youngest and her friends are slowly converting all their parents to get on the zero waste boat. Im loving it. Can you maybe do tours of zero waste stores around you? I love this so much
I need Auri to be my pal. "What do you want for xmas/your bday, Auri?" "Oh, don't spend $$$ on me, pls! Just get me things you already have!" "You got it, dude👍"
I am so proud to have just gifted only zero waste Xmas and birthday gifts in the last year and a half! Regifting, crafting, baking, and experience gifts. For wrapping paper I use butcher paper that my toddler and I draw on, and we tie with twine or ribbon that we have saved from gifts people give us. Small steps make big impacts over time
Sigh...She’s trying, though. Why does everything have to be perfect? This is part of our problem. Everything is pre-cut, pre-packaged, perfectly sized. We expect even the lowliest things in our lives to be PERFECT. SMDH.
@@Trund27 i think its the thought behind it, like a homemade birthday card, you wouldn’t just scribble happy birthday on it and fold it unevenly, you would write a little note maybe draw a picture and fold it neatly, thats just my interpretation though :) i still think its a nice gesture because she thought about what Auri needed and worked around that
Auri has inspired me to start a slow journey to zero waste. I adopted the reusable cups a long time ago but now I’m doing even more. When I ran out of ziplock bags I purchased reusable ones, when I ran out of cotton rounds I bought reusable bamboo ones. It’s just little steps but it’s stuff I know I will stick with.
Wait sooo don't buy anything but then Ari goes and buys all the things! Lol! Joyce nailed it! Also, the beatles are the best! :) I do like that van though!
Instead of replacing the dryer sheets with dryer ballds, you could just replace the electric dryer with a good old-fashioned drying rack and don't use any energy except the sun's. Aren't they living in LA? It's so warm there, their laundry would dry on a rack in like no time...
Fallacious Jinx yeah well not everyone has a backyard or the place for one indoors at my apartment the floor is made of wood so it would ruin the floor and I don’t have a backyard or terrace
@@joeheart5808I live in an apartment in australia and hardly anyone uses a dryer. I have wood floors as well, the clothes don't come out of the washer dripping, get them to do a spin cycle and then you can dry them on a clothes rack, can take a day or two if you have them inside on a cold day but worth it because it cost literally nothing!
@@zoeebert Exactly! I also live in an apartment and I have the usual drying rack. When things come out of the washer, I put them on the rack and the next day, when the next wash load is ready, the clothes are dry. Our building also has drying racks outside, so when the weather is nice, we can take things outside to dry. Also, when you dry like this, it keeps your utility bill cheaper :D
It makes me sad that a lot of the zero waste products are sooooo expensive. I know zero waste doesn't need to be expensive, but yknow sometimes you just don't want to make your own lip balm, okay??? lmao
So true. I need like 100 zip lock bag (I need to seal and pack my meat in freezer to last for 3-6 month) and I wouldn't mind paying $50 for reusable one. But for just a small set of like 12 is already $13 which is more then $1 each. Plus they are so much smaller then the plastic one but I am paying way more. I am not paying $100-$200 just to reuse small bag that are way more work. I rather just buy the cheap plastic one 100 for like $10 that are huge and save me the headache. If I want huge reusable bag that would cost like $200-$500 and that just crazy to spend on reusable bag.
For Christmas I made cookie dough with the recipe written down. The dough was able to be frozen and the receiver can just cut off as much as they like and bake it so they can have fresh cookies quickly and easily when they wanted and probably after they ate all the other Christmas treats. It's a consumable gift, I bought the ingredients in bulk to minimise packaging, and the receiver get a tasty gift that won't go stale before they're ready. (I've found in my circles it's common to get chocolates and cookies from everyone so you often get stale cookies that end up as food waste)
I wanna do this now, cause this is neat! Plus, then I can learn stuff and help my friends and family be zero waste! This got me into making reusable tote bags from grocery bags.
So great! I love the zero waster series by both of you! I have now transitioned to solid shampoo and conditioner bars, and they are amazing and so natural, plus they smell great!
I love how auri is always inspiring others to be zero waste and not force or lecture others to be zero waste .❤️❤❤
Pany I like advocating for imperfect minimal waste not completely zero waste 👍
Pany ikr its the way ppl delivering their thoughts about stuff, without forcing ones to do exactly what they do.
I’m dead 😂 at 5:20 when Joyce said
My Haitian parents: the Beatles who? The bug?
Right hilarious
That was my favorite part.
D'Lessia Wedley mine too
Are we not going to talk about the 14$ lip balm omg
Samantha Mangipano ik I thought i was imagining things
Yeah definitely was like no ma’am lol waaaaayyyy to expensive
I was thinking the same thing that chapstick better moisturize my lips for 2 years lmao.
Ikr coconut oil or vaseline is much better 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

This is the best series on Buzzfeed. Joyce and Auri have such different personalities, and having them pursue one goal is beautiful to watch.
I think Joyce did a great job. 🤷♀️ Auri (sp?) already has so much of what she got Joyce, that's why she asked her not to spend anything. I thought she really thought about her friend and gave of her resources to benefit a friend. ❤❤❤
I feel kinda bad about what Auri got 😂 I know Joyce took her advice but I think it would have been fun to see Joyce try to zero waste gift shop
I love it though! she's starting to get creative with cutting up the cloth. It's something that takes time to develop.
what Joyce did was so good for the environment! If she had gotten auri a bunch of zero waste swaps it would’ve been bad for the environment. Like auri said, u don’t need to buy anything. Joyce took the advice literally 😂
they are literally opposites when you see them sitting together
It's funnier seeing them standing next to each other.
@Honin Akecheta Joyce is really tall and Auri super tiny
I wish I had a friendship like you guys, i went vegaterian, and started doing zero waste and my old freinds just made fun of me and made vsco girl jokes
belle oh no so sad🥺 keep doing you🙌🏾
Just make fun of them for spending money on stuff you don't have to buy cuz you're zero waste... If nothing else, you'll have more fun during those conversations.
that is so mean. Being zero waste is great. I don't think vsco girls exist in reality.
You deserve it lmao
Christy Louis what?
joyce just regifting everything is a mooddddddd
“I wanted to entertain you while you blew your nose” 😂😂
I think Joyce sort of missed the point of the task, but that’s ok, still an enjoyable video!
A little bit lol. I think she did her best in what she knew and could do and any effort is awesome!!
I think it was also about how you don’t need to get new things to be zero waste like she repurposed a lot of the things she had which was what Auri wanted from her from the beginning
😂😂
no at 1:50 she says how auri just told her to get her things that she already has xxxxx
she was just giving out her trash to auri
Some of y’all just don’t know how much Auri just spent 😳
Ime Guzman ooh yes
Ime Guzman pretty sure it’s covered as a job expense aka she didn’t use her own money
Ime Guzman and what she got in return? Im-
Joeheart okay.
At the beginning they literally say they get a $100 each lmao
I love Across the Universe! I think Joyce's box was really thoughtful, sharing some of her favourite things
I just started my zero waste journey and I am definitely imperfect but...I'm trying!
And that's all that matters - making a difference where you can!
Trying is awesome! No one can be perfect!! I’ve been at it for a year and still mess up :)
I love these two! I love how Joyce just scavenged around her house for things to put in Auri’s box. 😂
It’s because of this series that I started making little changes in my life!!
I love that Joyce gave Auri some of her favorite things from her personal stuff! ❤️that’s sweet.
My youngest and her friends are slowly converting all their parents to get on the zero waste boat. Im loving it. Can you maybe do tours of zero waste stores around you? I love this so much
I LOVE AURI, CAN SHE BE IN MORE VIDEOS? SHES SO CALMING
Mikoto Chenmai I agree!
I need Auri to be my pal. "What do you want for xmas/your bday, Auri?" "Oh, don't spend $$$ on me, pls! Just get me things you already have!" "You got it, dude👍"
Secondhand gifts are the best gifts!! Half the time we give ppl gifts they don’t even want out of obligation. It’s horrible for the environment!
Joyce isn’t a mood or a vibe
SHE IS A LIFESTYLE
Yas
**sees Joyce and Auri together**
Me: 'ZE-RO Z ZE-RO Z ZE-RO, ZERO WASTEEE'
Beatles who? The bug? 😂😂😂
I'm 110% on that message, "try your best!"

Y’all need to make more episodes of My Zero Waste Journey because that is my favorite buzzfeed series ever. Joyce and Auri are ♥️♥️♥️
She could have tried to cut those tissues better....
Sigh...She’s trying, though. Why does everything have to be perfect? This is part of our problem. Everything is pre-cut, pre-packaged, perfectly sized. We expect even the lowliest things in our lives to be PERFECT. SMDH.

Tbh tho, since it doesn't have seams, it will work a few times but shred into threads when it's washed. Better than nothing but won't last. No hate.
Everyone needs a Joyce and Auri in their lives.

I hope you guys genuinely stay friends forever you're so cute together
these 2 look like female superheroes to me. I wonder if they even realize
I need more of this zero waste friendship.
Wait sooo don't buy anything but then Ari goes and buys all the things! Lol! Joyce nailed it! Also, the beatles are the best! :) I do like that van though!

That's not possible in every person's living situation.

I'm with Joyce on "Across the Universe".
I already use all of my ziploc bags (just regular ones) until they have holes and the zippers are broken! You can wash them a lot of times!
You guys are amazing for encouraging us to become zero waste 💖
Love the love they have for each other.
i love them. PLease never end this series
I am obsessed with Auri! She is so cute and sweet!!
Joyce is looking amazing !!! She’s glowing and you can tell she’s really coming into her own
$14 dollars for a lip balm ??? Omg I've never been so glad to.live in south america LOL
You can get a lip balm at the store for 1$ in America. This is just a more planet friendly option so it's more expensive
It makes me sad that a lot of the zero waste products are sooooo expensive. I know zero waste doesn't need to be expensive, but yknow sometimes you just don't want to make your own lip balm, okay??? lmao
Bri D, I don’t really know why it was $14, I’ve made some with stuff that I had on hand

I love them both so much!!! They’re like my best friends!
I changed my one use razors to a sustainable razor so all I need to do is change the metal blade and I LOVE IT!
Don't worry Joyce, I got VERY excited to see that Across the Universe was your favorite movie, I love the Beatles!
I love that Across the Universe is her favorite movie
WE NEED TO DESTIGMATIZE GIFTING SECONDHAND👏👏👏love thisss
"Beatles who? the bug?" 😂😂😂
I miss the zero-waste content w/ Joyce & Auri! 🥺🥺🥺🥺 Even if they filmed separately I would watch!
Can they just make their own channel. Like females try guys. Love them so much.
We want more Joyce and Auri!!! 💓
These two! Auri & Joyce are my favs, zero waste goals and friendship goals. Also Joyce, those colors on you are so pretty!
YEEEES we need a zero waste movie/sleep over party
This is so sweet ❤️ she made cute little hankies for her friend
I do love how Auri got Joyce all those new zero waste products to help her in her journey
I’m gonna say it because it happens to me all the time, I love that Joyce’s shirt is lifted. I’m always having to pull mine down 😂
For Christmas I made cookie dough with the recipe written down. The dough was able to be frozen and the receiver can just cut off as much as they like and bake it so they can have fresh cookies quickly and easily when they wanted and probably after they ate all the other Christmas treats.

I love them! And the friendship they have!
AURI & JOYCE together absolutely love y’all
I’m definitely not zero waste but I do my best to always use my reusable bottles, containers, and food storage!
Omg yes!!!!! Buzzfeed’s best duo! Miss Joyce
Across the Universe is one of my favorite movies! Joyce knows what's up :)
Joyce ACROSS THE UNIVERSE IS BOMB
We stan Across the Universe! It's my favorite movie, too Joyce :)
I love Auri and Joyce's relationship so much. :)
I think it's great that Auri is saying that you don't need to buy new things to be zero waste! It defeats the purpose otherwise
LOVE Joyce & Auri ❤️❤️❤️❤️
that poetry book is amazing 10/10 would love to receive
Yes! I LOVE Across the Universe!
Auri is so pretty! And Joyce’s gives off good vibes ❤️
I love across the universe too Joyce!

I love these two so much! 😊 I have to start on my zero waste journey
Love Joyce’s lipstick 💄
We need more of these videos!!
I love the way joyce says the 3 "r"s in a sexy tone.
What a joyce and auri to watch these 2!
You are my friend goals. I love my bestie. We keep eachother in. Check.
I wanna do this now, cause this is neat! Plus, then I can learn stuff and help my friends and family be zero waste! This got me into making reusable tote bags from grocery bags.
Beatles who? The bug?
I literally scream after i see the thumbnail
*AURI AND JOYCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* 💙💙💙💙
So great! I love the zero waster series by both of you! I have now transitioned to solid shampoo and conditioner bars, and they are amazing and so natural, plus they smell great!
Auri is so sweet

I love them. They are so inspirational.
Joyce that’s a great movie!
i love your guys journey. makes me really wanna try and make small changes
Auri cheated a little 😉 but this was amazing!! I want to do this with a friend!
What do you mean cheated?
Joyce was the only one who wasn’t suppose to spend money. Auri didn’t have any restrictions 😉
More from these two!!!!!!! Love them💕
