My fav host was actually Joseph Gordon Lovett because he didn't read off that damn teller prompter once! And if he did, he is the person to successful make it LOOK like he isn't reading off that stupid thing.
The black girl from "The Bear" also didn't read off of the teleprompter. I didn't know who she was while watching her host SNL. I was so impressed with how prepared she was and her commitment to every skit.
I know Jimmy tries his best, but he's just not the best night show host. In fact, I'd say he's the worst! He constantly interrupts the guest and his fake laugh? Uggh!

Her father should be fluent by now. The first six months that I was in Germany, I could ask basic questions. It would be disrespectful not to learn the language.
While I personally like learning languages and agree with you, it can be harder to learn one when you're not forced to. Assuming her dad lives in Miami, it's very easy to only need to speak Spanish. It's much easier to learn when you're forced to. Btw, this is the whole point of "ex pat" communities: groups of people (usually English speakers, let's keep it real), that get together and are able to get by in a country without having to learn the native language.
He knows the primary language of Miami. It’s Spanish. It’s even in a state called “La Florida.” It’s not called “the florid.” Lmfao Florida was colonized by Spain way before it was ever part of the USA. IF THE WHITE CRACKERS that live in Florida don’t have to learn any Native American language, why should the people of Spanish descent from a few miles away in cuba who moved to what used to be another part of the Spanish empire have to learn English? English isn’t even the official language of the United States. And Miami remains the gateway to Latin America. It’s where tons of Latin American corporations have their headquarters It would be weird to live in Florida and not speak Spanish.
Interesting point. There are so many English speaking expat communities in southern Europe, Latin America and SE Asia of who get by just fine without learning the local languages. I knew an elderly Italian lady who immigrated to the US when she was in her 40s and still could not speak English fluently at 80. It happens.
Eva's father tells that story in Spanish every weekend while sipping champagne with his Spanish-speaking friends and family of how you were fluent in German after only 6 months. It's changed their lives! You're the sh*t! Amazing! (anything else you want to add?)
He does. He speaks Spanish and lives in Miami. “La Florida” isn’t called “the floral.” Ya know? It was Spain before it was the US and remains the main port and gateway to Latin America. And USA has no official language.
What language? The Timucua language? That's the native language. But if you want to get into it. The United States doesn't have an official language. You should know this if you chose to live there.
It can happen, esp if the person migrated as an adult. My mom is an example. She was very busy - being a mom to 2 small kids, working a job, studying at night. For her, it's not English/ Spanish, but it's a similar situation. The country where she/ we now live in - that language is her 3rd language. There's her mother tongue, then English is her 2nd language, then my dad's language is her 3rd language. I spoke to my dad in his language (I consider it as my mother tongue), then dad & I both know English as 2nd language. I would rate my mom's knowledge of her 3rd language as ~25%. She knows a few words & phrases. I speak to my mom in a mix of English & the 2 other languages.
50 years and only two words in English?? That's rather insulting to his host country that obviously gave him a life he would never have had in Cuba. I really have no patience for this type of immigrant.
I have a Mexican friend who is a classic makes really good money and her mother is one of those Mexican women who never learned to speak english but yet got a good job. Whenever my friend gives to a charity, she will only give to charities that are in Mexico. Yet she grew up in America when to American colleges served in the Marines, but she will only give to Mexican charities in Mexico. Also has no interest in american history, American media, American food, has no interest in friends who are not mexican.. The funny thing is she really doesn't even have any friends. I'm. Her "friend" but i'm not mexican. But I have. To ask myself what kind of friend is she?I've been to her house many times she's never been to my house once, Probably cause i'm not mexican. Isn't it nice that you can go to other countries and enjoy their culture? But What is American culture? What is American culture? America is a place of many cultures. So I just get tired of that pushing of the american culture the american dream..... Because it seems only white people are clear on what American culture is. Because at this stage in American history, it's like that's just fiction. There is no such thing as American culture.
@nataliaalfonso2662 the land was part of Spain 400 years ago and now it's 2024 so that's you're argument for the reason he doesn't need English i think you're the one that needs to grow up.
