The last two times we fought the Magician, we only had pistols.
And now, we have SMGs. And yet, the magician still has the same old attacks.
and then we had a bazooka and still he has the same attacks
But now he has an upgrade in his helmet with electric volts and not the worms things like in THOTD2, he is more faster and stronger than his previous versions, if G and Kate had the pistols instead of a SMG's in this fight, they would have probably been dead at this point

As an AMS agent that specializes in dealing this kind of zombie stuff, Kate must've has already got used to it. Not to mention G dude's been fighting zombies since Overkill, in HotD1, 2, 3 and 4 special

God how I wish arcades were more popular these days so we'd get more chances to see the actual Arcade cabinet for things like Special Edition and F-Zero AX and stuff like that.
I can't find a house of the dead cabinet anywhere anymore. And if I do it's only the first one. There used to be HOTD3 and 4 cabinets everywhere, even at universal but it's all replaced by terminator salvation and shitty JP and Walking Dead games now ):

I know that I'm replying to something that is a year old, but whatever.
The voice acting in the House of The Dead series is fucking hilariously bad. It's one of the better things in a funny way because of how bad it is. It's that bad that you can't not laugh at it. I mean, the infamous "WE'RE MEETING G OVER THERE" quote from HOTD 2 always makes me fucking lose it.
The gameplay has always been amazing, though~

The oddest part about all of this is how inconsistent the quality of the voice acting is. I didn't find the acting horrible in 1, I thought it was at the very least average. 2 was most certainly horrible in a funny way. 3 was back to being average with some quirks here and there, and 4 I thought was just above average. Then we get to back to this, special, being bad in a funny way. And then we have overkill...which I thought was ok.
I found out that Special was only released to two arcades in the west.
One was broken down, and the other was sold to a private collector.
This is the only way you can play it now.
Indeed. I think it was exclusive on the PS3 because of the Playstation Move.
I'm scratching my head to why it didn't get ported to the Wii U because wiimotes but then again I heard the engine the original arcade versions were on were designed to make porting to PS3 easier, and that one of the biggest flaws of the Wii U was that some devs had trouble porting to it.
Here's hoping Scarlet Dawn gets ported to the Switch assuming it gets a console release later on, since it runs on Unreal Engine 4

Am I the only one that thinks that Magician is like Wild Dog in Time Crisis franchise? He appears like almost every game. Well almost.
The Magician is definitely an interesting boss. Other than being the first Big Boss, recurring as a tough near final boss in the second game and recurring as a special boss in the fourth game is great. I played through the third game MANY MANY MANY times but never found him, unfortunately. I did notice the beginning of the special stage was the first level of the third game, and that the final section and area was from the zeroth level of the third game, and the end. For me, Magician was WAY WAY WAY harder than Emperor and Emperor. I remember trying to take him out in the second game, just crazy(never played the original). Thanks for the video. I'm happy to know he's in the fourth one and quick as ever. :3

Hey you know what I just realized. The narration at the beginning of THOTD 4 SP is The Mystery Man.
I think Kate should have been given the Player 1 Position as she's the main character as G appears right after she does. Also, that would mean that if there's 2 Players, Player 2 would have that "HOLD YOUR FIRE!" like in HOTD3 until G appears, so it would make more sense as it doesn't make any sense at all if you're Player 1, and you see G's Arms when you reload before he even appears.

It's true that The Magician is the most popular boss as the game boss in the first game and then relegated to be the penultimate in the second game with a weak point and then the game boss of the fourth game's special edition. If The Magician is a popular boss then I suspect he should be in HOTD5 as the penultimate to The Devil (four stages instead of three) which means in order: The Moon, The High Priestess, The Magician and then The Devil.

The attacks Magician used after he has half life left are my favourites. The attack he charges then dashes down is similar to his speed move in the first and second game except that there is a cancel bar to empty instead of shooting the weak point just once.

My local arcade is unpopular to the “cool” kids that’s why house of the dead 4 deluxe is always free for me and friends:P
That is the reason why you don't see these special arcade ride of HOTD4SP. It's very rare because the arcade version is actually a small comparted room in which you and lover/partner enters insert a quarter, and thengo through two stages without having the life meter depleted to zero, both players shre the sam life meter. PS3 version change it where two players has their own life meter and has lots continue. If the Mystery Man scene can be unlocked let me know.
