    This is my most used and highest quality Blender addon, and the speed and quality of support is in a league of it's own. Thanks for the continued hard work, this addon is something special 🙏

    Well that's a nice little speed up for compositing. One thing tho, it didn't bother me but possible that a seizure warning maybe have been a good idea with so much of that bright/flashing/pulsing animation.
    And on a side note, so the dear old 1070 has finally been given a chance to have some rest. And going to a 4080 Super, I bet that was a shock compared to the first time you fired it up and checked OptiX in preferences....

      ha, yes you know your doing something right when your addon enables Blender's compositor backdrop to induce seizures 😂
      I did actually record my reaction when I first tried Blender with the new system, but a bit gutted I forgot to keep the video when I removed the temporary windows account. It was basically a torrent of high pitched expletives separated by silences of disbelief, especially when I turned on viewport rendering with GPU OIDN 🤣

      @@3d-illusions haha, yeah, I can imagine. I know the old saying, it's the artist, not the tools... but something the hardware really can have an impact.
      Now, just imagine the type of scenes and animation you'll have to come up with that they slow down the 4080S, so that Turbo Tools can have an impact.

      @@antgib I tried on the barbershop scene, and it was 48 seconds without Turbo Tools, and I think around 10 seconds with Turbo Tools on the high denoise mode! Whereas with the 1070 it was 10 mins without the addon, and between 1 and 2 mins for decent results with the addon. The addon will generally produce 3 to 5x faster renders regardless of GPU, unless your renders are already under 10 seconds or so, in which case Turbo will only provide higher quality. I'm about to make a video on that actually. When GPU compositor denoising is available in Blender 4.3 that 10 seconds should be reduced to around 3 to 5 seconds per frame! It's going to be mental! 😃

      @@3d-illusions I'm guessing that is without turning Noise Threshold on and the default 800 samples for the barbershop, which for me takes around 72 seconds on a 3080Ti. The 4080S should be a good 30-40% faster, so I guess that somewhat tracks.
      I remember for my testing and video I tried to find some sort of 'standard' scene that would normally take 2-3 mins to render and tested most of the Blender Demo files, but a modern GPU just eats through them so fast.

    Very impressed by Turbo Tools. However you really need to add an option to output the cache and temporal stabilisation data to a relative path. Those of us using render farm services are losing that data (and some Turbo Tools functionality it seems) since we only get back the rendered frames and can't set an absolute path for each arbitrary render node.

    • @3d-illusions
      @3d-illusions  22 дні тому

      Great to hear thanks. Regarding absolute paths, your render farm should be overriding the cache path in the same way they do with the render path you set in Blender's output, allowing you to download them along with the render output afterwards. In fact if they make the cache location accessible remotely, you should be able to start compositing while the farm is still rendering. If not, you could try setting the cache to a remote location yourself before uploading to the farm. I think garage.farm returns the cache, don't quote me on that though.
      For local network rendering you can set the cache directory to a shared network folder so all machines can access it. Having a relative path can lead to lot of issues, for example if you want to organise different versions of your Blend file into different folders, but have them all use the same cache, or you want to move the blend file to a different folder or computer without moving the cache etc.

      @@3d-illusions OK I just spoke to GarageFarm support and they updated something to save the cache output directly alongside the render passes :)

    Hello, I would like to know if your plugin will be able to help me with my current equipment, I have a nitro 5 i7 ninth generation, 250gb ssd and a GTX1650 4gb vram.
    I would like to be sure that it would work well for me, if so, what is the expectation for my use?

    • @3d-illusions
      @3d-illusions  18 днів тому +1

      Hi, the addon works by allowing you to get good quality with lower samples than the denoisers in the render settings usually need. So the % speed up is the same across all hardware. How much of a speed up you get is scene dependant, so I'd recommend to watch some of my other Turbo Tools videos to get a further understanding 👍

    Do I need the update even though I am an Apple computer?

    • @3d-illusions
      @3d-illusions  22 дні тому

      Yes you should definitely upgrade to the new version to ensure best possible performance and take advantage of other improvements and optimisations. There are also additional code changes not demonstrated in this video that prevent potential crashes in new Blender 4.2 builds too 👍
