Looks really good Matt! My one piece of advice is to start being very conscious of your clucking…(I’m assuming that they still take points off for vocalizing) I dropped to third place in my best test in a show because I unconsciously clucked… such a “doh!” Moment ( 🤔 a dohment? Lol)
Thanks for sharing your beautiful horse life with us all! I love seeing both you and Jesse’s developments with your lovely lovely horses ❤️

"Not too bad"? For the first day of serious training, I thought that you and Emporio were fantastic. He seems like he has such amazing self control with looking at the other horses while he's training. Probably because he trusts you so much. Each day that you two will train, I bet you two will get even better than the last.

I really enjoyed seeing Emporio again. When one hears the word "stallion" it suggests the possibility of,well, trouble waiting in the wings.Emporio clearly wanted to check Chase out,but he listened to you.Says a lot for the PRE stallions' reputation for good behavior as a whole, and for his relationship with you.A work in progress, but I think you'll do well.Seeing what you and Emporio are working on for a newbie competition also gives me an idea of how hard and how long riders and horses like Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro had to work to start out,and begin to rise in the rankings.Good luck,I'm very interested in Emporio's progress! He's beautiful and a very good boy. :)

As an Australian, I can't help but find myself to be a tad envious at the incredible facilities, opportunities, and horses in Europe! Europe, with all of its many countries, cultures, languages, etc. is an incredible place.

@@andreaxxx2239 Yeah there is no shortage of serious problems 😥And I feel for the people who are suffering the consequences! Still, it is incredible to spend time in a place where you can be in one country, with its languages and cultures, then an hour later be in a completely different place! Where I live, you can drive for three days straight and still be in the same country, even though the culture does differ between areas, but it's much more subtle. I really love going to Europe, but it's not easy and very expensive!

He's just plain gorgeous! His halts are doing really well. One thing is that his trot is very elevated so he didn't get much in the med trot accross diagonal; what you got was quicker trot rather than the med you were looking for. He's very attuned to your aids (correct and soft) and that presents a lovely picture. He is also up and into the bridle as well as through behind. Exclnt! Great work!!

@@dorothearagsdale2664 and @Lindsay Wagner. Even the warmbloods have gone through quite a progression regarding type, size, movements and appearances. Comparing old footage for example from the Olympics in the 70s, 80s even 90s until today: Riding styles and horses as well (frame, interieur) have changed. This is different alt least for my eyes to horse racing or show jumping. There have always been exceptional racing horses or jumpers which can look 'quite modern' or original. But dressage has now become more important for jumpers or 'Vielseitigkeit', the English call it Military. And horses can have now a longer and healthier active sports life before retirement.

Your halt was great, it was square, 3 out of 4 times Matt. You are correct about the trot work though. It was a wise move to bring him to the house with the other horses there. Imporio looked great. The way you are training him for the PSG is a great way to do it it with him. One day to the right, the next day to the left, the next day the full test. Repeat. This way you feel and know what you have to work on to improve the test to get the best score possible. Well done!! Can't wait to see the next videos of this journey with Imporio. Matt, have you heard of the technique called back-chaining? You start with the end, then you do the next last exercise and the end, then you keep adding on backwards. This way you are setting yourself up to know the end of the test best instead of the beginning. Of course you dont want the horse to memorize the test but when you chain several exercises together, and add more on, try starting from the end instead of the beginning!

Looking so good! One thing you might want to consider (and you're already thinking about it, so that's good!) is that with a stallion, you'll have to really consider herd behavior. What I've seen with every single stallion is that you'll have a nice, relaxed rideable horse in the warm up ring, but when you go to ride away from the "herd" into the court for your test, your guy is gonna protest, since it's his job to look after his herd. They often have a hard time getting up centerline and want to go back to the warm up (they often run backwards at X). I do not know how to prevent this. Perhaps warm-up, take a break away from the horses in the warmup, and then go into the test without spending any time in the warmup ring. Can you organize other riders to simulate this at home? Can you get advice from your coach? Love your PRE. I rescued an Andalusian last year, and he is turning out to be the best horse ever!

You both look very good. I think you are right about looking out for the markers, being very careful to ride the exercises to point, as this will secure you a good background score. Your circle is bigger than it should be. Perhaps a little mark 1.5 meters towards B from the Center line could do the trick for you to get a feel for the right size.

Looking good! It will be fun to find out what kind of ride he gives you at the show. It looks like your hard work is definitely paying off at home. Fingers crossed he keeps his head on his shoulders for you. :D

Emporio is such a gorgeous horse! Beautiful! And I admire how neat of a seat (?) you have! Do you think he could extend his trot so he could start stretching his legs forward too? Do you think you are going to train that or stick with what he can do now? I know it's not easy, just curious! I'm super interested to see more of this journey towards the competition!

Wonderful start. I have the same issue with hitting my markers at the beginning. But if you keep talking to yourself and envisioning your test it will all come together. Meditating your test or parts of it could help too. Helps me.

You improved so much during your practice session. Emporia is a real eye catcher! Fun to watch but also helpful for me and my Friesian sporthorse, Max. 🐴😀👍

I really have no experience with dressage and can't make any knowledgeable remarks. I just love beautiful horses. Your stallion certainly is that. I love watching you. Your stallion has such awesome action in his trot. I could watch him all day! Thanks for sharing. I'm sure he will do you proud as his show career progresses. 👏 LOL from Carole and the kittens. 🐈😻
