Thank you very much, had fun solving issues on the way, will sure look into the rest of the content u have!
I'm having this issue whenever i click on the camera stream in the home app. the camera doesn't display footage and this error message is shown under homebridge logs "FFmpeg exited with code: 1 and signal: null" and it stops the video stream. please recommend any tips to solve this issue. Thanks
On which device are you running homebridge ? If its a Mac .. you may need to do some additional work to tell homebridge where camera ffmpeg is located additionally there is another install to be done to enable camera ffmpeg as well.
Thanks Eddie, you have me all excited now as i can make use of a large drawer full of old iphones. I will get one set up asap in my office which is in a different building on my property and at least a couple in my agricultural barn that i have wifi in. Thanks for the informative video, very very useful. kind regards John

Thanks for this tutorial Eddie. Trying to hook my old iPhone 11 Pro Max as a security camera and after much hair pulling and gnashing of teeth, I finally get everything installed and configured. Unfortunately, in the Homebridge UI under error logs, I keep getting "Unable to find Homebridge Installation" even though it appears to be running in the terminal and I can stop, start or restart it from there. I never get a QR code, the "Checking for update" never finishes and I have an error that the service isn't running. Very frustrating. Did a complete uninstall and will try again later. Right now I'm too frustrated.
Hey Mark ... On which device are you running homebridge .. do you have any vlans assigned to the device running homebridge. This is very much related to a network issue

For Apple Home support - then yes you'll need a HB to work (makes it a necessity). However if you want to access the video feed on a cellular network - then you'll also need an Apple TV.
