Important FYI: Using this 365 will DESTROY your old phone's battery (which is already old). Do not do this on any "backup" phone that you plan to use as a real phone. Obviously just using the app when you're on vacation or whatever is not the same thing. If you think you need that phone, just spend the money on a cheap motion camera--definitely cheaper than replacing a phone battery and less hassle. But a lot of people have an old phone they don't care about, so this is a great solution, I just don't want anyone to ruin a useful phone unknowingly. For example, when you travel you should always have a working spare phone. That's a great reason to save a backup. Obviously if you can't afford a new phone and are prone to breaking yours you should not ruin your backup, either.

It's evident that you genuinely care about helping others make informed decisions regarding their devices. Your suggestion of using a cheap motion camera as an alternative is both practical and cost-effective. How will using this App "DESTROY your old phone's battery", since all one has to do is use a charger that has the amps matched to the usage. For example if the phone uses 1wh, then use a charger that has 0.2A (5V charger x 0.2A = 1W/h)
@@JDMumma Did that and after 5 or 6 months almost burnt my house down. Battery was like a balloon and catch fire. Charging circuit loads the battery where phone is taking current from, so the cells are being used anyway. Only safe way to use phones long term for this usage is to supply power through battery connectors for example like 3,7V 1,5A and remove the battery completely...
While this app is still free, they changed it. Before, even with the free account, it would save videos to the cloud. That way if someone broke in and took the phone, you could still pull up the videos from the cloud. Not so anymore. If you are only using the free account, the videos are stored on the phone you are using and not the cloud, so if someone steals the phone, they take the video evidence with them. You now have to pay to have videos stored on the cloud.

But i only have one and I use it for the side door, I need something for the front, Alfred I used at a different residence , it's cool aside from battery burning
I wouldn't take an Apple phone if you gave it to me, but I do have a Nexus 6 with a custom ROM on it, and 2-1 + 1, an a Galaxy Note 5, which one do you think would be my best choice, for my front door security, Galaxy Note 5, that's a question if you're not busy.
So, I have very rude neighbors & their kids are the worst! I'm wondering if this set up would be good for setting up old phones in my windows.. instead of getting video doorbells for front & back. Does facing them to look out the windows make it so motion detection doesn't work? Does having both phones on my wifi use a lot of bandwidth? I don't want it to have to be either the phones or the tv, rather than all of them at the same time. Also, one window gets direct sunlight for several hours in warmer months, will the sunlight affect the video quality? Thank you!
As far as video quality, that depends on the phones you use. I made many videos on this topic , showing how well my older phones worked. Normally, having the camera face direct sunlight is not good at all for video quality. I hope your neighbors stop being rude. Thank you for the questions.

I understand your concern about keeping them charged constantly. While modern smartphones are designed with safety features to prevent such incidents, it's always good to take precautions. Here are a few tips to ensure the safety of your setup: 1. **Use Original Chargers:** Stick to the original chargers or reputable brands to minimize the risk of overheating. 2. **Well-Ventilated Areas:** Ensure that the phones are placed in well-ventilated areas to dissipate any heat generated during charging. 3. **Check Battery Health:** Periodically check the battery health of the phones. If a battery is degrading rapidly, consider replacing it. 4. **Temperature Consideration:** Avoid exposing the phones to extreme temperatures, as both charging and discharging generate heat. 5. **Power Strips with Surge Protection:** Consider using power strips with surge protection to safeguard against electrical surges. 6. **Regular Inspections:** Periodically inspect the phones for any signs of overheating, and if you notice anything unusual, it's wise to temporarily disconnect them. Remember, while charging does generate some heat, the risks are generally low, especially with well-maintained, modern devices. If you're still concerned, you might consider using a smart plug with a timer to schedule charging cycles. Stay tech-savvy and safe!
