I have never used cocktail sticks before always just tied him to a piece of live rock but you learn something new everyday nice one Mike
+Dave Green 👍
Great video Aaron, as a beginner I've just fragged my first coral thanks to this. Also, I spotted Corals Direct as your sponsor - big shout out to Ahmed!
Wish my corals were this easy to frag lol. Great work man, love the tooth pick idea!
+Rookie Reefer 👍
This is an awesome video. Fragging done proper!
Awesome video, I love your method of using the toothpick. Once the frag has attached to the plug and the rubber band is removed, do you remove the toothpick as well?
Nice content!
Very good video. Keep it up!
Thanks for the video. Love learning new knowledge on UA-cam! Way to pay it forward! New subscriber here. Also new to fraging
👊🏾😁
So far The best Fragging video in youtube.
thank you.
+Feroz Reef Cheers Pal. Hope it helps.
NOW! That the intro music!
Great vid there. Can you frag or even trim back a Goni's at all? I have one that's too big for my tank.
This is completely unrelated to aquariums but when your rocking the glasses and gloves in this video, you look just like Fahz from gears 5! Lol.
Anyways awesome channel and video. I subbed to your channel a few months ago after watching your super simple reef playlist to set up my first saltwater tank. Love the content and you helped me out a lot!
Great video!
+Aqua Paradise Thanks pal
Ah the cocktail stick is a really cool idea I've never seen frags done like this ... great video Michael I really enjoyed it and I learned a lot 🤗 I think I'm going to frag my Kenya trees again they have gone so big there nearly reaching out of the water 😂
+PsychedelicBabe Yeah you can frag them in the same way as I've done in this video or you can mount them on the rock.
Cool little video, nice1 for the info it will come in use 1day
+Matt Reefer Cheers pal.
So I’m curious to know if I’m able to frag a coral thats only 10 inches in size? Or should I wait until it’s bigger? The coral is a green sinularia.
What's sup man, Nice size leather. Great fragging
+915Mang Thanks pal. It was a beast wasn't it.
Good video! I want to frag my devils hand leather coral but its mounted to my live rock and I don't want to remove the rock so would it be safe to nip the leather coral will its still in the tank?
+DWSDARIUS FISH TANKS Yep that's OK. It will give off like a residue but it's nothing to worry about. Just make sure your cuts are clean.
Okay thanks
+DWSDARIUS FISH TANKS 👍
Can you cut the frags from directly from the main tank ?
yes, though you may want something to collect them in before they drop
Hello Aaron from Mike's Aquarium.... :P
+EDK ReefMeister 😉👍
Why did the water go black? Is that just dirty water from soil or is it a defense mechanism from the coral being propagated?
+Aquatic Plant Savage It's what came out of the coral. Not sure what it is, so all the more reason to wear protection.
Never seen fragging with toothpicks and rubber bands. Cool.
+NYCity Cichlids 👍
Can you use the special superglue to mount it on the frag plug
dont need special superglue - google it, along as the glue only contains the one ingredient ( cant remember what it is ) then its safe in reef/aquariums
cyanoacrylate ---- any superglue with that only
Typically you can use superglue gel, but leathers and soft corals are notorious for getting slimy, during fragging, and they are impossible to glue. Thats why this trick is key! No glue needed, and a solid bond
Is it just the same for doing likes of zoas?
+Lee Duncan No zoas are a different buddy. I'll do a video on that when I'm ready to frag mine.
Aarons Aquarium perfect bud looking forward to seeing that. Thanks
+Lee Duncan 👍
Technically you frag stonies and cut softies but still a legit video
+Reef Builders Fair play. I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip.
You can also superglue the base of the soft coral to the plug or piece of rock. I was nervous of doing this to soft corals at first, but actually it's not a problem at all. Even though they are slimy, they fix perfectly with no bands or sticks and grow vigorously.
+buttonpolyps I've found that when using Glue they manage to work themselves free.
How to frag coral like torch?
Do you ever use glue??
Can you just glue it
No they can release from glue.
Mount itself. Haha. Sounds a bit rough
+MASS Aquariums Lol.
Why do you wear gloves?
Dude, cyanoacrylate super glue
wouldn't you get a set of fraging tools to be more professional
That’s some ugly coral.
Just another ebay scam artist in the works.
