Matchbox restoration Jaguar 3.4 litre nr 65 B. Diecast car

This version of the Jaguar was produced by the Lesney company in the years 1962-1968. My model was complete, only the tip of the hook was missing. I made her a nail 1.4 mm thick. I was able to get a very nice shade of red metallic. Finally, as usual, I made a replica of the box.

One of the true classic Matchbox models with a near perfect mix of toy rugedness and detail. Mine had a missing bonnet / hood but to my own surprise I have been able to fashion a perfect replacement from some galvanised roofing sheet steel. Often one struggles but some jobs then suddenly go so easy they seem to be predestined to succeed. :-)

Superb restoration. Smooth, glossy paint finish. Great repair on the tow bar. The box has very attractive artwork of the Jaguar. I have a blooper here. Just repainted a #46 Mercedes 300SE, and the paint has turned out all "orange peel" finish! Back into the stripper, and try again.
