I love how Stolas admits that he doesn’t have the words to properly explain himself or apologize, yet owns up to his mistakes anyway. It’s also abundantly clear that he cares about Octavia very much. That’s some beautiful emotional development of his character, right there. I also like how Octavia shows some vulnerability at the end, clearly still loving her father very much and being afraid of losing him.
Yeah, it’s just a shame it’s so rushed. It’s very clear that rise as Stolas starts the scene in the ride, they ran out of time, resources or both. If they had like an extra minute, it could’ve been executed perfectly.
I mean it's clear Stolas was never IN love with his wife and that it was 100% an arranged marriage. Stolas is clearly the laid back one whereas his wife is the high-maintence superficial royalty stereotype.

Multiple sources have confirmed that he's been known to break into song just because he can.

Still one of my favourite episodes. I'm always amazed by how they were able to make a goofy sex maniac into a genuinely likable character in the span of one episode, and Stolas has been my favourite character in the show ever since.

Stolas goes through so many emotions trying to explain to his daughter about he and her mother. Arranged marriage. They never really loved each other. Her mother only wants the social position etc. From her rant at the start she's not upset about the cheating. Just that it was with an imp, one of the lowest social classes in hell. If he'd cheated with other royalty she could use that to further her own position. He genuinely loves his daughter, very much, and you can tell she loves him too. He's incredibly complex, like any of us. And the dude can spin off an unending stream of horny swearing like no one else.

1: I listen to the extended version of "You Will Be OK" daily 2: There is a "full version" of "My World Is Burning Down Around Me". It's only about a minute and a half and is written and performed by Sam Haft (the same guy who wrote "You Will Be OK" and performs the full version of that song). I wish there was a full version with the person singing in the episode. Edit: just saw someone commented about an extended version. It is a fan extended version though, and sadly still not the singer from the episode 3: Fizzarolli is voice by the guy the plays Beetlejuice on Broadway (Edit: Alex Brightman) and I learned from the latest episode that he is actually doing that with his voice 4: The Carnie guy is voiced by Richard Horvitz, so Moxie was kinda having a fight with himself there. 5: The was a "Where's Waldo" imp hidden in the episode 6: Maxwell Atoms voiced a few side characters in this episode, including the guy in the apple suit. If you don't recognize the name, he was one the writers for (and is listed as the creator of) Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Chowder, I Am Weasel, Cow and Chicken, and Caillou.
Some things that I noticed in the robotic Fizzarolli (or however his name is spelled) 1st musical number or whatever, is that when he sings the part "Every boy, every girl every woman - - - -", he looks at Solas when he says "Women"! And I feel like probably his song was a bit inspired by Charlies song with the part "I have a dream. I'm here to tell! About - - - -".
Stolas suffers from having a difficult time not seeing the little owlet he'd sing to sleep. What his daughter likes and dislikes has changed. But they do reach a common ground on the basis that he's not planning to abandon her ever, and in the end she's afraid of being truly alone. By coming to that understanding that she will always have him to turn to in any situation, no matter how bleak, they can move forward.
'All voice actors can sing.' No, but a lot of them are musically inclined; because a)good dialog has a rhythm; b) dubbing is like working with a click track or a beat; and c)the same techniques for singing healthily are the same for voice acting, you're nesting your voice in vocal effects.
Quick little thing to add here. Anything that you saw happen in the pilot is partly retconned now. They changed several things since going into the actual numbered episodes. So treat a lot of the pilot like something that never happened.

VA for stolas' wife is a friend and is in the skits of Brandon Rogers..the VA for Blitz, shes in a few of his skits. The carnie guy with the "thing" thats moxxies VA...literally talking to himself. XD Im sure later vids will mention this (im late to the reactions) but Fizzerolis VA is the actor/singer for Beatlejuice in Beatlejuice on Broadway, that gruff voice is something he can do naturally. Hes got some like mutated voicebox or something. Ofc the robo stuttering was after effects.
Ok, the loo loo mascot is an apple. That is because, it is a ripoff of "Lucifer's Farm" presumably owned by Lucifer himself. As we know from hazbin hotel, Lucifer is married to Lilith. She was supposedly Adams first wife from the Bible. In addition, it is commonly thought that the serpent that tempted Eve was Lucifer in disguise. In a lot of religious art, the fruit of knowledge of good and evil is portrayed as an apple. As a result, Lucifer in the show covers himself in apple iconography everywhere. It's all over the hotel and even on his hat. Just like Stolas and Octavia are covered in stars. So, loo loo land's mascot is an apple because they are copping Lucifer, which is also why they make big deal about spelling it with oos instead of uus.
This is actually not one of my favorites but I love the Stolas reveal he KINDA knows how to Dad. Kinda. Figuring out how teens work is not easy but pretending they’re still 5 doesn’t work. Also Blitz keeps things business the whole time. Which he has no reason not to. The fact he had to ask what he’s getting paid tells us he has been paid…other things. And with Stolas it’s best not to ask. But you can assume it has to do with jelly sandwiches and whatever the hell WAS NOT bleeped out. And there’s not much.
To be honest, that song at the beginning is a stunner for first time viewers- if you let them get engrossed in it. It's such a departure that it _will_ capture your attention the first time round. Or atleast, it should.
I think people like this episode a lot cause: A) Music is AWESOME! B) Beetlejuice voicing as Fizz C) DANCE BITCH! It's a well-done episode exploring a relationship between a father and daughter in such a touching wonderful way, and the animation is just MM GORGEOUS
I think you kinda backtracked with spoiler talk but like the last vid, you're getting there 👍 a sort of tip, instead of trying to connect parts of the episode to other episodes, try keeping the connections confined to the current scene. Also, I'd suggest not interrupting with smaller details like Stolas' grimoire in the beginning. There are some small details that are important, yes, but maybe bring them up at the end? you could even click through the episode at the end and discuss some of the smaller or quicker things. Idk just some ideas to keep Kirby's reactions as spoiler free as possible :)
So, I'm really late to the party apparantly. I've just started watching Helluva boss. I've seen the first two episodes, and am watching Kyle's reactions after I watch each episode, so it goes Original, Kyle's solo reaction, and then Kyle's reaction with Kirby. It's a trip.

Loo Loo land happens like this. Lucifer has apples as his theme, referencing the story of Adam and Eve, where she ate fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. That is why there are apples in Loo Loo land and over Charlie's house. Lucifer made Lu Lu World, and someone made Loo Loo land to profit off of Lucifer's image. There were court battles and copyright claims, and as long as they spell it "Loo" rather than "Lu", they're fine.

One thing that I love is the detail Vivzie put into building the world. For example the difference in the horn pattern for imps born male or female. If you look at Millie's sister she's confirmed to be trans and has the "male" horn pattern.

Ok, the loo loo mascot is an apple. That is because, it is a ripoff of "Lucifer's Farm" presumably owned by Lucifer himself. As we know from hazbin hotel, Lucifer is married to Lilith. She was supposedly Adams first wife from the Bible. In addition, it is commonly thought that the serpent that tempted Eve was Lucifer in disguise. In a lot of religious art, the fruit of knowledge of good and evil is portrayed as an apple. As a result, Lucifer in the show covers himself in apple iconography everywhere. It's all over the hotel and even on his hat. Just like Stolas and Octavia are covered in stars. So, loo loo land's mascot is an apple because they are copping Lucifer, which is also why they make big deal about spelling it with oos instead of uus.
This is actually not one of my favorites but I love the Stolas reveal he KINDA knows how to Dad. Kinda. Figuring out how teens work is not easy but pretending they’re still 5 doesn’t work.
Also Blitz keeps things business the whole time. Which he has no reason not to. The fact he had to ask what he’s getting paid tells us he has been paid…other things. And with Stolas it’s best not to ask. But you can assume it has to do with jelly sandwiches and whatever the hell WAS NOT bleeped out. And there’s not much.

It's a well-done episode exploring a relationship between a father and daughter in such a touching wonderful way, and the animation is just MM GORGEOUS
I think you kinda backtracked with spoiler talk but like the last vid, you're getting there 👍 a sort of tip, instead of trying to connect parts of the episode to other episodes, try keeping the connections confined to the current scene. Also, I'd suggest not interrupting with smaller details like Stolas' grimoire in the beginning. There are some small details that are important, yes, but maybe bring them up at the end? you could even click through the episode at the end and discuss some of the smaller or quicker things. Idk just some ideas to keep Kirby's reactions as spoiler free as possible :)

I've just started watching Helluva boss. I've seen the first two episodes, and am watching Kyle's reactions after I watch each episode, so it goes Original, Kyle's solo reaction, and then Kyle's reaction with Kirby. It's a trip.
I love how kirby react like a little girl, thats never heard swearing and lewd stuff, and her face pretty much says "oh my god". XD
I'm so much looking forward for her to react to episode 6 and 7.

I've been watching people streaming GTA V story mode lately (really need to play that again some time), and I just realised, Blitzo is basically Trevor
Loo Loo land happens like this. Lucifer has apples as his theme, referencing the story of Adam and Eve, where she ate fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. That is why there are apples in Loo Loo land and over Charlie's house.
Lucifer made Lu Lu World, and someone made Loo Loo land to profit off of Lucifer's image. There were court battles and copyright claims, and as long as they spell it "Loo" rather than "Lu", they're fine.

One thing that I love is the detail Vivzie put into building the world. For example the difference in the horn pattern for imps born male or female. If you look at Millie's sister she's confirmed to be trans and has the "male" horn pattern.
