To Snyder on Rebel Moon: “This is TOC. You’ve failed your objective! Report to center for debrief.”
I think the break down of the Star Wars "feel" starts in the prequels though. Anakin is supposed to be passionate and powerful, but his portrayal makes him look stiff, wooden, whiny, and ultimately weak unless he's swinging a lightsaber. This isn't inherently Hayden Christiansen's fault - Natalie Portman, Samuel L Jackson, Liam Neesom, and yes, Ewan McGregor, all were stiff in phantom menace and everyone but McGregor remained so for the entire trilogy - Lucas clearly made directing choices about how they should act and deliver lines. The midichlorians take away from the universal, "luminous" force and degrade it into "crude matter", to borrow from Yoda. It also isn't a simple plot - Filoni had to use 7 seasons of Clone Wars to fill in the plot holes left behind by an overly complicated plot of how Palpatine took over. The characters do retain their single defining traits, and it definitely still Star Wars, but let's not pretend the prequels did a particularly good job at being an epic.
I don’t even watch Star Wars I’m just here for shayne
Should've added a counter counting how many times you've said «star wars feel».
Take a shot each time he says it.
Here on a break from your Ready or Not lore (which is amazing by the way, both it and your presentation). Noticed your use of the KotOR soundtrack immediately. A true man of culture.
Pls pls do the next Ready Or Not vid
This was a great breakdown of why the original's worked and the new trilogy didnt!
Keep it up!
I don't think Ahsoka captured the Star Wars vibe either.
