I just bought this car May 2014 and it is a DREAM! For all the haters who say it is ugly.....I have received nothing but compliments from complete strangers and I think it has the lines of a luxury sedan. I am incredibly happy with my purchase.
Luke Hoisington the acceleration just takes a second and then like a rocket you get a good boost. What else are you considering? Camry just doesn't compare in my book and resale of Honda is extremely strong.
Luke Hoisington Grrrr...that is what everyone comes down to - Ford vs. Honda - which I must say might be a first where those two makers are directly competing. The history behind Honda (aka very worry free cars) and my own past history with Honda lead me to them. I "heard" that the Fusion's interior feels a little plactic-y and not as refined as Accord. Yet, I also heard the seats in the Fusion are more plush. If money is a large factor maybe just go with Fusion...but if you have the credit I would just pay the little bit more and get the Accord. Plus, Honda has been making hybrids for some time - while Ford is just NOW seriously getting into them (yes, they had hybrids before, but never a focus of theirs). Test drive and pick the one that you like best...haven't heard about any real mechanical issues with the Ford.
Honda has hit a home-run with the new Accord hybrid! Class leading 50mpg city, and a sharp looking car that is actually fun to drive. I hope Honda expands its new hybrid system across all of its models in the near future.
The drivetrain in this car is much more like the drivetrain in the Prius than the Volt. The Volt engine hooks up to the wheels very rarely, while the Accord engine helps drive the wheels under a fairly wide range of operating conditions. The Volt is a range extended BEV and isn't very efficient when used as a pure hybrid. The Accord, on the other hand, is a very efficient hybrid.
Actually the Accord gas engine only directly connects to the wheels at 80+ kph...the rest of the time the gas engine generates power to drive the electric motor.
Hmm.. Usually motortrend posts their actual test MPG figures. I think the video only mentioned the EPA figure. It would be interesting to find out what's the actual MPG they got from their testing.
Honda did a great job with the new Accord Hybrid much better than 05 model. On all levels verses 05 model!!!!!! I think the price should be a few grand less also on all trim levels!!!!! Would defiantly buy a Accord Hybrid over Toyota any day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better mpg than Toyota anyway and more reliable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honda create the new series for hybrid engine. For Honda Accord - it were the big sedan for honda. They always increase the engine capacity (in former with engine 2.0 - 3.0, and now 2.4 - 3.5). If lady need saving the petrol, it has to choose another series. Honda 've got a range to choose (big sedan for Accord - small sedan for Civic, MPV for Odesey, or CRV, CRZ... and Acura for luxury...). If they are going for hybrid... it will be got a new look with new generation engine... What 's for???? For their income from customer. They worked hard for new engine, new look... new income. For sure, they can not take profit from OLD guy ACCORD. Accord will got its plan to upgrade with Honda project. One more thing... We are working for regular income... If u working hard, creative... it have to increase salary for you with upper position. Right... The world is the same. All thing still got its basic.

Perhaps but they do sell them by the boat load so they can't be too far off the mark for their intended audience. Personally I think they are a handsome car without being too flashy, flashy that could go out of style in a few years.
I bought this in November 2013, and it has been extremely good.

How is the freeway merging power? I'm thinking about buying one

Idk if I were to get a fusion it wouldn't be a hybrid it would be a ecoboost

I want a hybrid FIT for the lady!

Good fuel mileage for such a big car.
Whats Wrong with picking Power over MPG??🤷🏽♂️
I'd buy an Accord Hybrid over a Prius... The Accord has more style and it doesn't even look like a hybrid apart from the blue accents...
Well first of all... There is no CVT.. They took the transmission off.
Car manufacturers should do a better job of packaging those batteries. I do like this car though. It's about time Honda!

Honda has not done anything to improve the look of their cars.
Huh?

+ladyvee7110 ha....you are in the minority here. I CONSTANTLY get compliments on my accord. Many people think it is a lexus until they see the H ;)
Matt Whitmire So? That's my opinion. I'm not here looking for cheers and accolades from anonymous UA-camrs. :-P
Each trim level needs to be priced $5,000 less.
You're kidding, right? The standard equipment on these cars is outstanding - you really do get your money's worth.
Tom Eisenmenger I must agree......the price for what you get is a great deal. Not to mention the resale of the Hybrid accord is outstanding
im1greatman NO, it should come with a European badge to screw you real good with more than $5000 each model.
