Nicolai Weissert - Nightwish - Amaranth - Drum Cover

Hi guys,
just as promised, new video online. Second recording with my new gear. My two Beyerdynamic Opus 88 arrived finally and replaced the Opus 87 at the racktoms. Die Opus 87 ar at the floortoms now. Die Sennheiser e604 was given back, I just borrowed it. Had a few minor sound problems with the toms today, but I hope you enjoy it anyway.
For those who watch my videos for the first time - my name is Nicolai Weißert, I'm 16 years old and I come from a little town called Eppingen in southern Germany.

I agree- a well tuned drumset is the key to good sound. Thanks for the answer- and yes- the presonus firestudio tube is really a good interface. I have seen lot's of drum covers on you-tube but your drums sound the best. So the conclusion must be the mix of a good tuned drumkit and quality equipment for good drum recording. Keep the videos coming- and rock on!!

You really nailed that song! And your drums sound amazing too. Alot of depth and buttom- I like;-) Im also considering buying the Beyerdynamic opus 88 for my toms and snare for quit some time now. Nice to see a good drummer on you-tube playing with these microfones.
One question: What kind of audiointerface/ program do you use to get that great sound out of your drums?

99% of it is easy, or all of it if you improvise like this guy. Its tricky how Jukka plays it right before the second chorus after Anette sings '''you receive but what you give.'' It doesn't sound difficult but when you go to play and you try to copy him it its a lot harder than it looks. Takes a lot of practice unless you are just plain awesome
