I had Mine refurbed recently on the 530 and only cost £80, years guarantee. Much cheaper way to go through a reputable vehicle electrical company. ✌️
Nice jobb, chill out with the sealant don't need that much
Very good mate you know what you are doing and well explained as always. Good job done
Cheers!
impact doesnt go up and down, drill with hammer function does. just FYI like the rebuild 👌
Yep, the torque is momentarily free spinning until it impacts the striker, causing a very brief momentary spike in torque, "shocking" the bolt off but not keeping the torque high enough to snap the bolt.
Hi George,
Nice Job and well explained, from where you got the replacement parts ?
Where did you get the bushing that broke t buy
Intresting, not really familar with watercooled alternators since my 4,2 v8 fsi has it on audi its good to sneak around incase i need to take care of it at one point :P
Love this video and your accent! Much appreciated
Great job, very well explained.
Cheers Ian!
Nice work! I appreciate that!
Glad you liked it!
Great video mate. Can you list the part number please? I've got the 2001 X5 4.4i and she has a 150A Alternator but the regulator might be the same. Cheers
You need to open a repair shop George!! I'd go to you before the dealership 🍻
🙌🏼
Great video! Where did you get the kit from? And how is the regulator holding up? I suppose its aftermarket?
Good video. But would you be kind enough to give details of bearing sizes and screw sizes please. Also where did you obtain parts from. I have similar alternator and have purchased 5 different repair kits! Non of them have the correct plastic bush for the bottom of the housing!. My bush was also shattered! It appears that this is a relevant piece which gets damaged!! Great video😊
Isn’t the link in the description?
Cannot see a link in the description, thank you.Perhaps there is a problem somewhere as I have noticed a few people have similar enquiries, hope this is helpful!
mercedes om611/612/613 has this watercooled alt also.
Yep quite a few manufacturers use them👍🏻
Can you please add bearings parameters both?
🙌🏼
Fantastic video. Great use of knowledge and tools.
Cheers mate!
Great Video. The silicon you used, isn't the temperature rating a little low?
Thanks, no it’s fine👍🏻
Good video, where did you get all the alternator components from? Did BMW supply them or a third party, care to share details. Excellent job !
I will link them when I can as I’m away at the moment
that is good restore
Thank you👌🏻
I think my 02 cl600 has this alternator right
More than likely yes!
