- The southwest part of the Las Vegas valley continues to grow with thousands of new homes being built, new businesses going in, and one of the newest casinos in the valley besides Fontainebleau.
Remember folks, casinos don't expand if there are no losers.
Damn, I think I understand what that means around that area
Stations is upgrading, expanding and building new casinos at the same time. What does that tell you? For one, they offer virtually nothing to the players. Why would anyone play at a Stations property when all they want is your money and give you no appreciation.Remember this? .....Station Casinos wouldn't directly admit to 13 Action News that they're not planning to bring back buffets. But in a recent earnings call, Frank Fertitta, the CEO of Red Rock Resorts Inc., said, "We’re going to put the dollars into the place where we make money. It’s going to be a focus on slot machines and table games, our primary business. We’ll have several restaurant options. We will not have a buffet."

As always the county does whatever the casinos say and care less about the residents. have seen it in Vegas for 60 years
Remember they don't care about the neighborhood only the money they can make.
They don't care about locals. Why no buffet, theater, bowling alley, live entertainment? They don't want to enterain you, they want to gouge you for every nickle and dime. Why would any local want to play at Stations?
Nightly rates close to $1k is ridiculous and not worth it for the Durango.
Are you serious? That’s crazy
there's a car accident almost daily on durango by the casino. traffic is a mess
Poor design by Red Rock Resorts. They made it way too small.
Where is the water going to come from?
It’s gonna be recycled water
Poop and pee
@@anderander5662 ah he’ll no, wtf
No wonder why my family wants to leave vegas
The real story here is the approval of 3500 homes on blue diamond hill
I like how they just wedged that in at the end as an aside.
I peeped Durango back in January. It was nice and the food court had a good variety.
Not to rain on your parade--but the salaries so boasted by the casino industry will not allow you to own a home...whereas decades and decades ago, such an opportunity was available to the average casino worker. You can rarely find such an article on net now with the censorship, but one reason the workers came to work casinos in this insufferably hot climate in the middle of a dry desert with no water is that they were able to own their own homes--however modest. They were able to have an single family home with a yard for the kids to play in. So...what's the benefit to workers now? I'd say losers...what's their benefit? Can they own a home? Workers are settling for less and less. Import a few more thousand more illegal immigrants, and the likelihood becomes even more unlikely. No...the illegals don't work for hotels, but they suppress the governing wages of an area. Well documented. Look it up. Why would you come to a region with essentially no water and water allocated to the rich only with no chance to own any property? Go somewhere else.
The poor getting poorer and the rich getting richer
Well said. Since the 80's, I have witnessed the wealth transition in this town. Working in a casino isn't a career...almost comparable to "high paying" fast food jobs. Can't own a home like the old days. Luckily I have paid off my mortgage.
Stations is anti-union for that reason. They pay some of the lowest wages in the industry and have no intention of allowing a union to negotiate for better wages and benefits.
I went to Durango Casino, not bad it’s fair, small
Please place signs that say no usual suspects allowed
Stations invites those 'usual suspects'. They are the ones with plenty of 'questionable' money.
@@TuPadreHDTPM79 Usual suspects keep local casinos in business. Them and those retirees keep them in business
Which businesses are growing in the area and why you did not show us?
Give them their own exit off the 215 and divert some of that traffic off Durango
You want to pay for a dedicated exit, so they can increase their revenues? If they want it, let Stations pay for it.
@@1kenodave1 what happened to all that weed money that was supposed to help with roads and all the other BS they said the money was gonna go
F THIS PLACE
New casino means more drugs, poverty, prostitution, pollution, traffic, noise, higher prices etc
Not another parking structure- my god lol. When will businesses start building underground parking garages.
It's new though
Wait til a newer one opens
