actually we are not... it has been said multiple times by the creators that the show take place 50 years in the future. The show ran from 1999-2001. So the show takes place around 2050.

It's hard to believe i was 12 years old when Batman Beyond first hit the screens 20 years ago and it's still one of the best animated shows i have ever seen, it was fresh and groundbreaking but wasn't afraid to reinvent the Batman character for a new generation. It was set in the future but at the same time it still felt like Batman but more up to date, 3 seasons, 1 movie and a half dozen comic books years later with all due respect to BTAS, this could very well be my favourite incarnation of Batman ever. Long live DCAU
Here's a fun fact, Michael Ansara who plays Mr Freeze, played a character in the TV show Outer Limits that inspired the creation of James Cameron's Terminator, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Schwarzenegger will then go on to play Mr Freeze in Batman & Robin and Linda Hamilton, who plays Sarah Connor in the Terminator films, played the doctor reviving Mr Freeze in his last appearance in Batman Beyond.

The problem with Bruce Timm is he’s a creep and drawn heaps of DCAU porn lol and his past 2 DCAU movies have been pretty mediocre. Paul Dini was really the brains behind a lot of it.

Two decades later and we still don't have a live-action Batman Beyond
I'm looking forward to the blu ray copy of Batman Beyond. It was so good. the prologue of the pilot episode is still one of my all time favorite batman scenes.
Matt Boesch the two part pilot episode is still one of my all time favorite Batman episodes . I still remember watching it as it first aired on WB Saturday Morning. Blew my mind

My sister and I used to watch Return of the Joker almost every day as kids. It's crazy how this was my first introduction to the character of Batman.
I was 14 years old when Batman Beyond debuted on KidsWB and still resonates today. It was a show ahead of it's time and the continuation of the storyline from Justice League, Justice League Unlimited. Superman: TAS, Batman: The Animated Series, and the New Adventures of Batman says DCAU continuation mattered.

This is a day one buy for me. Hopefully Superman the complete animated series is next to be remastered from DC. And I’ll keep my fingers crossed that Nickelodeon remasters the 1987 & 2003 Ninja Turtles animated series. And HBO needs to remaster the Spawn Animated Series. A man can dream.

The Eggbaby episode was a nice easter egg to The Blues Brother since the Mother was voiced by the actress that played the church mother to Elwood and Jake Blues. I believe it was Kathleen Freeman.

"It was Schawarbadge" was the episode "Out of the Past" which had the return of Ra's Al Ghul voiced by David Warner and Olivia Hussey voicing Talia Al Ghul and funny enough Olivia Hussey played Topenga's Aunt Prudence in Boy Meets World season 4 which was a nod to Romeo and Juliet (Olivia Hussey playing Juliet in the 1968 film) since Topenga was leaving Philadelphia, PA and Corey Matthews couldn't accept the fact that she was leaving. "The Demon Reborn" episode from the Superman: The Animated Series episode was kind of the prequel to "Out of the Past" episode of Batman Beyond as Ra's Al Ghul used his daughter as a vessel to cheat death.

What's great about "The Call" was when Superman says as McGuiness leaves "More than you know..." meaning Sups new that Terry McGuiness was Bruce Wayne's biological son. Also Farrah Forke who voiced Big Barda voiced Barda in the Justice League Unlimited episode "The ties that bind" which featured Scott Free, Oberon, Kalibak and Granny Goodness. Scott Free was of coursed voiced by Ioan Gruffudd from the Fantastic Four film series.
I don’t interpret that line as implying that Supes was cognizant of the truth of Terry’s parentage. That line just highlights how Superman found the similarities between Bruce and Terry to be stronger than what even Terry was aware of. After all, Supes did know Batman when he was in his prime so Terry’s serious lone wolf attitude makes Supes nostalgic enough to make that remark as it shows that Terry is living up to the Batman legacy, and proved even more that he was worthy of the mantle. Now of course, we know now why the similarities between them were so uncanny but I don’t think that line was intended to be any type of foreshadowing to that particular twist.
And Supes would have no way of knowing that knowledge unless he did some deep dive into the circumstances surrounding Terry’s birth; which I don’t think he did(it’s never been shown or hinted to be the case).
I never thought of Terry's similarities to Bruce was a result of his ancestry . I always thought that Terry was the sole Batman successor that really worked and proved himself to be able to take the mantle and keep it. While a lot of people do not share the same opinion on Terry's ancestry(that the Batman mantle is only given to someone related to him), I also think it's invalid because Terry did not get the mantle as an "inheritance" so-to-speak and that he earned the Batman mantle; Terry, being Bruce's son, is nothing but happenstance which, in my opinion, is one of the points that "Epilogue" had.
Clay face is my favorite Batman Villain.

I was there for this. The Tom Cruise references were because between panels Conan O’Brian came up on stage out of nowhere and shouted “Wait! Don’t leave! Here’s Tom Cruise!” And Tom Cruise came out said “Hi, here’s the first trailer for Top Gun they showed it then they walked off. I was in line for the bathroom when this happened, so I watched all of that unfold from the line for the toilet. Anything can happen at Hall H in SDCC.
such a cool group. with the dc streaming service picking up steam and the hbo dc lineup growing i really hope to see batman beyond again, much like they brought back young justice. PS- id also love to see the thundercats come back too that show had such great stories and artwork and will did amazing on both and rocked comic con this year

Dark Jedi Knight: Well, if you’re gonna get Mark Hamill as the Joker, you have to have Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne. It’s only natural. You can’t have Mark’s Joker without Kevin’s Batman.
If you listen to the commentary track for the Legends episode of Justice League, Bruce Timm makes an off-hand comment that if James Tucker (who designed a lot of the Justice Guild) ever did his own show it would be nothing but cool silver age designs. 7 years later, we got Brave and the Bold produced by (surprise) James Tucker.
