Fun fact, book it is still around matt and celebrating its 40th anniversary. But Im so old, i remember when we would actually sit in a pizza hut restaurant and eat our pizza, before boxing our own leftovers
There will probably be no ads like these ever again. Because back then we were a captive audience. No internet, no social media, it's all oversaturated now and PC. No more Mr Bucket. First time seeing the BattleTanx video. Blown away!!

If anyone never played Battle Tanx growing up... you seriously missed out. Such a cool game and good story. I still have my N64 and kept it all these years.
I played Global Assault for PS1 as a kid. The story was awesome coop. Used to always try and beat the whole thing using ONLY the Moto. I still play it on occasion for the Queenlord mode. Otherwise, it just sits on a shelf along with the N64 version of Global Assault and the original.
I approve of Matt's rankings, holy crap this was a fun video! We peaked as a society in the 90's and the early 2000's was a close second but we will forever be trying to return to those glory days.
That's where that line was from? "The colors, Duke" has been floating around in my head for decades but I could never rightly recall where it was from until now, thanks!
Matt I’m in total agreement with you and your enthusiasm. We just need a time machine that keeps us locked in to the greatest decade lol. It’s not your fault that Austin was neglected as a kid 😂
Jesus that WAZZZZUPP took me back, I remember Newgrounds had like 10k WAZZZZUPPP videos. I used to fake those Book Its so much and just tell my teacher I read them so she would put the stickers on lol. Also remember the original Stuffed Crust pizza commercials where someone would be eating a piece of pizza backwards and everyone around them would be giving that person the stink eye lmao! This episode really aged me (35)
OMG! Somebody posted a pic on a Twitter convo of Macho Man holding the Slim Jims and I had no idea what was going on and then I click on the vid and there he is! Love it! 😂
90's being lawless? Nah the 80's were lawless as well lol.... I used to have a lot of pogs and slammers. I need to see this anime 100%. Man this video brought me so many childhood memories.
Recently moved house, was sorting through some boxes today, and fond my old Pog collection... along with my 5 tier brass slammer that i remember everybody hating xD
I used to own crossfire when I was younger... got it for Christmas, but my mom wouldn't let us play it because it was loud and too many parts 🤣🤣... definitely gotta find one of these for my kids
4:46 reminds me of b-damen. They are basically the same except instead of simple ramp launchers, the launchers themselves were tiny build-them-yourself mechas that shot out marbles that you maneuver to do this or other similar game modes. To me this was my beyblade of the time (wish i kept them they were addictive to collect)
Lol I had so many pogs and to this day I still have no idea how it was supposed to be played and I remember some of the slammers were bricks of metal basically
If I remember correctly you and your opponent would pick x amount of pogs each and stack them upside down then you slam the stack with your slammer and whatever is picture up is yours to keep (if your playing for keeps lol) then you re stack the upsidedown ones again and the other person goes. Repeat until all pogs are turned face up
0:27 Matt, I myself am a proud product of the 90’s and I wish I could go back. But I’m sorry, that dang Puppy Monkey Baby Mountain Dew commercial from the 00’s was pretty dang close to the crazy stuff we saw. 😂😂😂
This was cool, here in Italy things looked somewhat different so all of those were new to me. I do remember Sega having evidently an exclusivity contract with a certain comedian, and even as a kid I thought those were weird.
I had so many POGS. (born in 87). When Apollo 13 came out Arby's (or Hardy's Jr, depending on locale) had POG holders in the shape of the rocket; that was SO awesome to have. I also had the POG maker toy thing, and I would make cut outs from baseball cards or, my crush from Elementary school. lol It was for sure a time to be alive
Very fun video! My fav's were the snuggle bear (he so deserved that, hated that bear) and the got milk. Great job you guys! I see #GiveKinseyARaise is trending!
90's commercials were trying an eye-grabbing tactic because they already knew by then that nobody watches commercials. Aww yeah the Macho Man! Now I gotta go look up that "cream of the crop" video again.
I remember a got milk commercial with Mario where he pops out of the tv and went into the fridge and drank milk from the gallon 😂 I did the exact same thing and when I got caught my parents asked where I got it from and I go from Mario 😂😂😂😂
Hey Matt, Hey Austin, I watch you every day, and you may be pleased to know that you make a 68 year old chuckle. I have bought almost every mid range tablet out there. Is there any chance you can review some available to see if i have missed one? I have left out Samsung and iPad. Oh, and i played Linus LTT and i didn't like it. Toodle Pip! Tony in the UK
Important question for Matt. Black, Gold, or Series 2? Crossfire is A or S because every 90s kid will never forget the music. Should have gone with creepy crawlers instead.
Oh man I was a surge addict back in the day I had like 5 a day lol then that stupid kid had to go and have a heart attack and ruin it for the rest of us🙄🤣🤣
LOOK HOW SMUG MAT IS AT THE END lol. Not like he did his own list or anything lol. This was my favorite episode in a long time, and honestly, some these lately, kinda been skipping around from part to part. Yess I was a 90s baby, so a lil bias, but I think this was pretty lively with a good collection of things. Maybe an idea for yall, maybe do something about promotional toys from fast food. Like how I talked about the POG collector from Arby's. I saw a picture today of the Jurassic Park Lost World watch, that had the holographic dinosaur eye, and I COMPLETLY forgot that was something I had as a kid tbh; that part was somehow lost. Although I did not forget the Ivan Ooze McDonalds radio thing - which I think you might have covered once (or I'm making memories up). But there were so many promotional gigs in the 90s with fast food, it'd make a good set of content.
I remember when the 7UP commercial got banned at my school. Kids weren’t allowed to wear the “Up yours” shirts. 😂😂😂
genuinely cool to see matt reminisce about the 90s. More episodes like this!
As always poor Kinsey needs a massive raise dealing with the two children all the time
Yeah, babysitters are generally pretty underpaid. #GiveKinseyARaise
@@KILLERONROAD #GiveKinseyARaise
The Budweiser commercial was A or S tier. I’m with Matt on this!
S tier for sure
As soon as Austin said butterfingers BB's I instantly had a nostalgia flash back..

That honeycomb advert was made in the 90s!? Damn, the CGI was honestly pretty impressive.
I doubt it was made in the 90s early 2000 at best
@@cellularrepublic1Nope, mid 90's.
Look at shows like babylon 5, andromeda, earth final conflict, heck even star trek was using cgi at this point.

No no no, we were not hopped up on Mountain Dew. We were hopped up on SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURGE!!!
Oh man when that Crossfire commercial came on I belted out the "song". This video light a nostalgia fire.
Being born in 87, I remember all of these. You could easily do a part 2!
Haha I remember most of these commercials but the snuggle bear was the one that made me scream, "o shit I remember that commercial!"
God I remember every one of those commercials. Matt take me with you back to the '90s. I'll even buy some Doritos 3D and a case of surge
Love that we went from being excited about Easy Bake Ovens to being excited about Air Fryers... lol
this whole video is my childhood lmmfao
Anyone else mail letters to Nintendo in elementary school, getting typed replies back? I remember one kid got a free game.
No SEGA Commercials??? we need part 2!
I grew up with these, we were all hyped up on caffeine and SUGAR! So true!
Surge and Jolt cola baby!
I approve of Matt's rankings, holy crap this was a fun video! We peaked as a society in the 90's and the early 2000's was a close second but we will forever be trying to return to those glory days.
This is one of the things The Matrix got right. Coincidentally of course, given it just happened to be made at the end of the 90's lol.
No Quiznos rats?! That was THE commercial that cursed all of us 90's kids so we'll never own a home.
Really, no, me and you smash 64 commercial. What a miss opportunity. That was the best commercial of the 90s
Was watching this on my GeForce3 Ti200 and it just failed at 7:20 somewhere I guess honey combs were too much for my poor gpu
I love your videos! Keep em up, their some of if not my favorite.
I cant believe you didnt include the popsicle commercial, "the colors duke, the colors! Im colorblind kid" that was a nutty commercial
That's where that line was from? "The colors, Duke" has been floating around in my head for decades but I could never rightly recall where it was from until now, thanks!
Where the is crazy Capri sun commercials???
This has made me realise I'm way to into retro stuff, I was born in the 2000's, but I still recognised basically all of these.
I forgot how much I miss the 90s. Great video!
Pogs were a remake of "botle caps" from an older generation! I Pogged all day!
Easily my favorite this is video to date. Thank you.
Jesus christ, I remember like every single one of these commercials. Thanks for activating my PTSD 🤣😂🤣😂
Never seen Matt so genuine as when he says this was his favorite This Is!!
Matt I’m in total agreement with you and your enthusiasm. We just need a time machine that keeps us locked in to the greatest decade lol. It’s not your fault that Austin was neglected as a kid 😂
PS Matt Crossfire was ultimately Bad A$$ and I had a bunch of POG. As well as Dr Dreadful food lab and creepy crawlers 😂
One of your better videos, loved it. Got to do 70s,80s,00s next.
I thought the show was called "this is"? Not "this is Austin's"?
Haha I'm with you Matt, I miss The '90s as well, everything is A and S tier!
why did you take me back to this time 😢
These 90s commercials were so good!! Brings me back to my time in high school when I saw these 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I heard someone say Pogs and now I'm here, gotta love the 90s 🎉
I love both channels but hands down this is is superior
OMG! Somebody posted a pic on a Twitter convo of Macho Man holding the Slim Jims and I had no idea what was going on and then I click on the vid and there he is! Love it! 😂
Crossfire is an S+ tier commercial, because they made a mediocre to bad game seem absolutely amazing.
I was born in the 1970’s, so I was in my 20’s when they came out.
You should do a video on cursed Soviet Union tech! That way we have the 70's and 80's covered!
Battle tanks was truly a fun game on the n64. I need to get my hands on it.
OMG... might have to be one of my favorite recent videos! Matt is right all the way! LOL... However, the Bud commercial deserved a much higher spot!
90's being lawless? Nah the 80's were lawless as well lol.... I used to have a lot of pogs and slammers. I need to see this anime 100%. Man this video brought me so many childhood memories.

The crossfire commercial made my brother and me buy that. Plus, it was really fun.
I used to own crossfire when I was younger... got it for Christmas, but my mom wouldn't let us play it because it was loud and too many parts 🤣🤣... definitely gotta find one of these for my kids
The crossfire commercial lives in my head rent free.. always have.
I'll get my parents CC for that VHS tape...whats S+H mean?

I think my favourite 90's commercial is Nike's Colloseum Battle featuring Maldini, Cantona, Ronaldo and the Devil.
When you think you’re clicking the video for tech and it’s commercials
It's funny that Matt and I not only share the same name but have basically the same memories lmao
in the 80's we made our own "pogs" out of folded paper. POGS just stole that idea in the 90's.

I am totally with Matt on this. The 90's are the best, everything else sucks.
