I do not have one of these cameras. But, however, one of my friends does. She posted a question on facebook and I found your video. I posted your video link on her page and 10 minutes later, she sent me a message saying she figured it out thanks to the video. Job well done. I told her to watch the rest of your videos to learn what else her camera can do. Job well done, Sir.
what is the difference between the sd1100is, sd1300is, and the sd1400is? which is the best camera? best value for price? and which do you personally recommend just for taking photos point and shoot?
@evans4you The 1300is, apparently the quality of the sensor for the 1400 isn't as good as they cheaped out in order to get 720p video. According to reviews. The cameras are very similar.
please can it have some infos set up Image of canon Power shot ELPH520 HS , to get pretty picture after shot it and have to have nice color video ? because my camera canon powershit Elphs 520 Hs , I don't touch any settings about camera and video , so I need your help more about it infos
THANKS A MILLION.... but i have one question.. can i take delayed pic.. i have a tripod and i need 2 take some pic for some flyers how can i do that??? HELP !!!!!!!!
Motion blur is caused when there is not enough light and the shutter has to remain open longer to get a picture. Zooming in uses up light and magnifies motion (makes the problem worse) so zoom out and get closer when possible. ISO increases the sensitivity to light (at the cost of grainy pictures) so increase ISO to decrease blur. Going from ISO 100 to 200 will half the blur. 200 to 400 halfs again, and 400 to 800. So going from 100 to 800 will reduce blur 8x, but will be more grainy.
Your comment in regards to Red Eye is backwards; the pre exposure blinking light of the camera forces the pupils of the subject to become smaller (that is, CONSTRICT, not DILATE). It is exactly because of an opened or dilated pupil allowing light to penetrate into the eye, that reflects blood filled vessels of the retina, and magnifies it through the lens of the eye back at the camera, that gives the classic definition of Photographic Red Eye.
help!! where can i change the settings so that when a take a picture in motion is doesnt come out all blurry. please help if that setting is possible on this camera

Hi, great video...I am wondering if anyone here knows if the Canon Power Shot SD1300is has the "digital macro" shooting feature like the 1100? I have seen conflicting information on this...even on the Canon site. I have the 1300 and cannot find the "digital macro" only regular macro. Any ideas? The digital macro feature usually has a "d" inside the macro flower icon. Thank you so much for any help anyone can offer!
Hi! Thanks so much for your response...the digital macro allows me to get very close (right up on my subject(jumping spiders) while using my 1-4x digital zoom. Or I can be on my 1- 4x zoom and get a clear macro shot while I am physically far from my subject. This is my experience with my sd 1100 is. I have not been able to get nearly as physical close with the 1300 set on regular macro. I ended up sending an email query to Canon after I wrote to you. I am a total novice, so I hope my explanation makes sense...and thanks so much for writing me back to help. I appreciate it. I am still waiting to hear back from them.
littlem39 once optical zoom is maxed out, any digital zoom or enhancement can be done in the computer as well. One thing to experiment with is zoom and distance. Sometimes you can get much closer at 2x than 4x. So test the macro at each zoom to see which gets you the best magnification.
Thank you very much...I am going to experiment with what you said, I had no idea I could get closer at 2x than 4x. I really need to play with the settings. When you asked me what the difference was, you had me curious as to what the technical answer was and I found some chats where people say that if you shoot with the digital macro you don't lose the clarity you would if you manually cropped and enlarged via the computer. I still don't know. All I know is that I love my little sd 1100 is, and I really want to be able to do what I am doing with that camera, but higher than the 8mp I have now. That was my hope with the 1300. I will keep practicing, and I truly appreciate your time! :) For reference sake, my instagram is @msjumpingspider so if you are interested how close/clear I get with digital macro. These jumping spiders are the size of a grain of rice or smaller. (Sorry for the long comment) I can't wait to watch the rest of your videos to learn much more!

Self timer is at 4:11 in this video. I think you just press down on the circle-pad while in shooting mode.
Where's the part 2

What's the digital macro supposed to do vs regular macro?
