I think my favorite would be the Diamond 40NG . I love the concept of single lever and not to have to worry about adjusting mixtures. Also it’s very economic because the used fuel for it is JET A-1 which is highly cheaper than 100LL what I use now on my pa28

good video and information. Thanks for sharing. Glad to see carbon fiber being offered on small private aircraft. I would think that should help structural stability without adding weight.
We're glad you found the video informative! Carbon fiber indeed offers a great balance of strength and lightness. Are there any other advancements in aircraft materials or technologies that particularly interest you?

G’day, I like your videos. With this one the background company information was good but at lease cruise speed and range would have been even more interesting. Would have saved me 25min looking up the specs on each 😁 Cheers 🍻
Absolutely, understanding the cruising speed and range is crucial when evaluating single-engine piston aircraft. We'll do our best to provide this in future content. Which specific model or category are you interested in knowing more about?
Hey , look at this , I am the one who missed one thing , let us assume in emergency situation , and parachutes open to land safely , and the plane is at 4000 ft. in elevation , Ahhhhh ! now I am safe , and the pilot looks down , and thinks "no , no way , not the power plant " or it could be " no , not the power line". so you see I even miss things . hang glider method is better way and safer.
I'm not a pilot but I love following aviation. I will be a pilot soon. I do love studying all of the performance specs of different designs and learning what I like or not. I wish all of the producers would include one simple stat for their planes - the coefficient of drag. I want a slippery plane. We all want this. One simple number will tell us where we are at. Why do they not do this?
It's great to hear about your passion for aviation! The coefficient of drag is indeed an important factor in aircraft performance, as it directly affects the aerodynamic efficiency and fuel consumption. While manufacturers often provide detailed information about an aircraft's aerodynamic features, including wing design and other performance characteristics, the coefficient of drag may not be explicitly listed as a single number in marketing materials or specifications. As the aviation industry continues to advance, it's possible that manufacturers may include more comprehensive aerodynamic data in the future, considering the growing interest in fuel efficiency and environmental sustainability.
@@speedomars Your comment would be valid if the video didn't mention the C172 and the Mooney which are both antiquated by your standards, especially the C172.
That interior of the Cirrus is just gorgeous. Completely different league from what i've flown so far. and combined with that emergency chute system, this one would be right on the top of my wish list.
The top piston aircraft continues to be the Cirrus SR20, SR22 and SR22T. How do we know? They sell more than all other aircraft COMBINED. And Mooney is out of business, btw.
Most BRS parachutes are optional on most aircraft and standard on cirrus. They take away from useful load on small aircraft and this can be a factor in the decision to install by the customer. Some pilots don't think they need it.
I was considering getting back into flying and possibly owning a plane but it seems the prices of GA planes have gotten completely beyond what the common working or retired person can afford. Maybe one day if I inherit some unknown fortune!
Indeed, the costs of general aviation planes have become quite substantial. If you do decide to pursue it in the future, there are still options like flying clubs, partnerships, or more budget-friendly aircraft that can make it more accessible. Until then, you can always enjoy aviation from the ground and keep the dream alive! Is there a specific aircraft you've always dreamed of owning, even if it's just a wish for the future?
Interesting competition has developed over the years in the experimental category. Worth considering when thi king to purchase. Downside potentially is that one must build the plane. Likely a deal breaker for most.
The Cessna 206 Turbo is a great choice although not in this list! It offers powerful performance and versatility, making it suitable for various missions. Whether it's for personal use, charter operations, or utility purposes, the Cessna 206 Turbo is known for its reliability and capability.
I'm surprised of the prices of this planes. 40 years earlier I readed the prices of planes in this category, they were a little part of the prices today. But there are offers of used planes with prices lower than 40.000 $.
Both the Cirrus SR22 and Diamond DA40 have their strengths, but preferences can vary based on individual needs and priorities. It's all about finding the right fit for your flying style and requirements.
comparing the rs-22 with 180hp GA is tricky, then you must compare it with a c-182 and the da50, and Caps is just a bad solution for a bad design that could not pass spin recovery certification...
I went to an air show today and seen a brand new cirrus sr22 in blue and I gota say, I have zero roots in flying and zero interest in aviation and after looking at that plane up close and being told it’s pressurized, turbo charged, can fly at over 25000 feet and can go from western Pennsylvania to Florida quick 😂 I gota up my game
Single-engine piston airplanes, including 4-seaters, are versatile and can be used for various purposes. They are often used for personal and recreational flying, flight training, short-distance trips, and even some business travel. Depending on your location and aviation interests, you can fly them from local airports, private airstrips, or fly-ins to explore nearby destinations or for training purposes. It's all about how you want to use the aircraft and the missions you have in mind. Do you have any specific flying goals or destinations you'd like to explore with a 4-seater single-engine airplane?
best plane have my mind, 4 or 6 seat, 1 or 2 engine, less than 100 000$ and FREE delivery to thailand. new or used. best used budget plane have 4 seat, singke engine long range (additional tank) less than 80k $ normal used cessna 172 about similar cost 30k-55k no more newer.
The fact of the matter is that greed is abundant in the aviation community. I take that back rampant is more like it. So let's say a shell of a single engine airplane costs $150k-$200k and then you need $100k for an engine and another$100k for avionics I can't see how they are priced where they are. Greed and lawyers is the only explanation that makes sense really.
Hey , this is not fair , only people who can afford to buy the nice planes don't have to deal with stop lights . Nice planes . I remember when I took flying lessons . Nice planes , but you missed one thing , please do not create computers on the planes with male voice and female voice , there will be lot of mid air crashes , due to female computer having crush with male voice , and might get too close to one of them to chat in mid air while flying . No. actually I like them all . But parachute is not good way , It will create jerking motion . better method is hang glider to reduce impact from sudden jerking motion from Parachutes . hang glider to eject out , is better method . So in transition of safe landing , is exactly that , Pilots already know how to fly , so with hang glider safety method , without engine , can glide the craft more smoothly and better way , Parachutes are in mercy of the wind , and this is not good method from the height to jerk and glide down on mercy of the wind to land . but with hang glider method the pilot can control to safe and smoother landing , This is what I am thinking . When engine failure occurs , and if any other emergency occurs , dejection of hang glider is much better.
If I had money to burn like that, I would be shopping for a jet. Most likely, a Lear 35 from the late 70s… Spending 2/3 of a mil on a piston single is utter insanity.

I will have to go with the Diamond DA40, there is something about that T-tail
Thought so too!
Not to mention the super low stall speed, and consequent great safety record.
what about RV10?
I’m surprised to see the C175 in this list. In this new version, do you know how many fuel drain points *per wing* this plane has?!!!
I would have included the legendary Beechcraft Bonanza into this list. Surprisingly no Piper aircraft either
In 1970 a new Cessna 172 was $12,500. There is nothing about todays prices that make sense. A dying industry that has outpriced itself.
