On this channel, I’ve showcased several different airplanes from 2 seaters and 4 seaters to ultralights. Sometimes though you have pilots who need that extra payload to carry more people. Thats why today we are looking at 5 six seater airplanes that you can buy used in today’s market for less that $100,000.
Keep in mind that most of the aircrafts listed are twins engine aircrafts with retractable landing gears. That makes them complex and more expensive to own. So although you have a low entry purchase price, the maintenance cost for these aircrafts will be on the high side.
Here are the 5 aircrafts listed in the video.
Cessna 310R - Easily one of the better looking twin engine airplanes still flying today. The Cessna 310R is a later model of the 310s that were introduced in 1975. They have better performance compared to the earlier models of the Cessna 310s. This aircraft is quite old but still very capable. And you can find a good used one today for less than 100k
USEFUL LOAD: 2,154 pounds
SPEED: 205 miles per hour
RANGE: 999 miles
PRICE: $99,000

Beechcraft B55 Baron: The Baron 55 is another early model twin manufactured in the united states by Beechcraft. Gives you competitive performance on speed and has quite the useful load to haul 4-5 passengers and fly long distance.
USEFUL LOAD: 2,025 pounds
SPEED: 207 miles per hour
RANGE: 1,085 miles
PRICE: $90,000

Piper Aztec - Also known as the Piper PA-23. one of my favorite airplane on the list. Has enough useful load to carry more passengers. It does travel a bit slower than the rest at 172 miles per hour cruise speed. But the best part about this airplane’s performance is the range. You can fly it north of 1500 miles with full fuel tanks.
USEFUL LOAD: 2,025 pounds
SPEED: 172 miles per hour
RANGE: 1,519 miles
PRICE: $75,000

Piper Seneca II - Also known as the Piper PA-34. Here is another superb twin engine aircraft from piper that can haul 6 people and travel long distance. There are several iteration to this airplane but anyone you choose will serve you just as nice.
USEFUL LOAD: 1,643 pounds
SPEED: 216 miles per hour
RANGE: 1,000 miles
PRICE: $60,000
VIDEO SOURCE: / @flightlineaviationgroup
Piper Cherokee 6 - Also known as the Piper PA-32. One of the most affordable six seater airplanes in the market. This is also the only single engine aircraft on the list. Having only one engine means you are slower at 168 miles per hour cruise speed. But it also means you get to save some money on the maintenance cost since you don’t have to deal with he complexity of having 2 engines and retractable landing gears.
USEFUL LOAD: 1,735 pounds
SPEED: 168 miles per hour
RANGE: 840 miles
PRICE: $60,000

It’s not expensive to buy them; it’s expensive to fly them!
Bob Frieser I can feel how chuffed you are about coming up with that one🤣😂
Hang on...let me write that down...
@Agent J lollllllllll

Hallo Bob, absolutely I agree, most people do not understand - that *Time is money,
Dekades back - I had had a Beech-360 for business not for toy, So the time works for me,
in time of amortisation of costs.
As I sold my Company - also gave away, to the right time- as PT6 coming up
I guess piston engines consumption is too expensive actually.
thank's for Attention, regards from Germany
Someday I will own my own plane. I wonder if there are any black friday specials 😂
lmao
😁
Good luck just hustle for it
me too
Amazon, lol
Been a helicopter owner/pilot for over 30 years. Looking at learning to fly fixed wing and maybe even owning one. Love your videos!
My wife said she would leave me if I didn't get rid of my plane. I'm gonna miss that girl!
Lol which one
Make sure to wave at your ex wife from the plane for me 😉
Bro these are the only problems you ever want to have in life you doing great. Fly high
New wife working out good?
Biggest mistake my grandpa made was to sell his propeller maintenance and restoration business and his airplanes to please my grandma. His health deteriorated quickly after it and he died just a couple years after it, he died unhappy and unfulfilled. Years later she is still around and will be for longer.
Die happy, die active, fuck what she says... keep flying my friend.
When you mentioned the Cherokee 6 I thought about the Cessna 210. There are lots of older ones on Trade-a-Plane for under $100k
Thanks for all the research you put in to this - it's very helpful.
Your videos are great . Straight to the point !!!
So glad to see the Cherokee 6 on here. My father owned on (3217W) in the 1960's. He said of it "That plane just wanted to be in the air". He and some of his buddies would fly to North Carolina from Massachusetts for a few days of golf in the spring. One of the other guys owned a Cessna Super Skymaster. My dad would take one of the guys and all the luggage. He always got their first because the Super Skymaster didn't have the range of the 6.
I used to work for a flight school doing maintenance on their aircraft. we nicknamed our 310 the death trap since it was coming in constantly for repairs and a general pain to work on.
I have a Cessna 337G with completely redone IFR glass panel, and would not trade that plane for anything. The breadbox cabin design gives the best shoulder and head space and leg room is phenomenal. I have removed the most aft 2 (jumper) seats and made that space cargo friendly, so technically it became a 4-seater, though.
Sounds like a sweet set up. A very roomy 4 seater is very cool.
Sure ya do buddy. Keep dreamin 👌
@@johnqdoeShut up, jealous toxic troll
@@johnqdoewhy do you not believe him? That's not very hard to believe lol. There are lots of people who own nice airplanes.
Your content and videos are great Mike. I missed these kind of videos...these are what made me subscribe and fall in love with your content. Happy flying.
The best advice someone ever gave me.... "if it floats, flies or fucks, it's cheaper to rent it"
this is my mantra now.
‘Specially the fuck part
Solid advice!
Dude that is amazing, I will be using this from now on. You're doing God's work
Plus you can check of if it flies or floats and, with proper maintenance, that should continue pretty much the same for many years. The remaining item can stop at anytime without warning, regardless of how much was originally invested. Just sayin'...💔
Flew them all in my early career. 310 by far my favourite 👍
Thank you for all the information provided, explain very well and I follow your fantastic aviation program! thank you very much from Colombia South America.
Looking to get my pilots license asap!!
Keep the vids coming my man, very inspiring 🤘👍
Did you get it? I'm planning on getting mine soon
Awesome video. Thank you for posting it definitely gives me several workable solutions.
Great informations mike/ thank you for your knowledge and time.
Mike, this is such an awesome channel. Thank you and please keep posting content!!! Liked and Subscribed and I rang the bell.
Two big things missing from this video - avionics and engine time. A modern glass IFR-certified cockpit swings the price $30K compared to a busted, barely legal, VFR steam panel. Also, engines get overhauled about once every 2000hrs, and that can cost $20K per engine. So depending on how much time those twins have on them, that's another $40K swing. Paint is another $10K. The airframe is only about a third of the cost.
But it carries 2,000 lbs....thats a lot of kilos
Right none of the plans show will go for 100k or less
Most overhauls start at $35k
My man! This video came at the time I was looking for planes that would be able to carry family, have decent range and not break the entire bank :) i like the the last piper, single engine!!!
you got one?

Thanks Mike, really enjoyed the video.
Now I see why I been thinking of building my own plane ✈️, good content still
Very informative video! Thanks!
love all your videos, keep up the great work !
Love the C310 series. I have about 2000 hrs in them.
Helpful, Thanks a lot!.
Great videos bro...keep them coming.
Very good assessment of 6 seater aircraft. Thanks. We have the PA34-220T.
Thx very useful info
Excellent Video! I'm looking at a Cherokee 6 myself. Found one at an excellent price.
Love this video ,definitely getting a Cherokee piper
Thank you for the great info
Great video! Subscribed!
What's plane is the white/gold/black one pictured on the video image?
Nice post Mike as always. I’m specifically looking for a six seater. Why not the Lance or Saratoga out of curiosity? They also fit the characteristics...
Cool Video. And very inrmatcive!!! THUMBS UP!
Thanks Mike, good stuff. You're helping me formulate a plan that will surely scare the bejesus out of my wife. Can't thank you enough.
Hahah
What will be price in India after taxation ?

This is a seriously underrated comment. Well said! I’m in the same spot haha
Great information, Sir!
Good video.
I like the Piper!
Good one. Thanks
Appreciate your work 🙏 🙌
Great video, thank you. Can you do one on 6-seater or larger amphibious seaplanes? The Albatross looks great to me, but maybe there are more affordable seaplanes that also have very long range. I would love to hear about that. Flying from Lake Ontario to the Caribbean by seaplane would be very, very cool. (Fascist escape route.) The plane could also be loaned out as needed to local communities for search and rescue missions, disaster relief or emergency evacuations. The Albatross in particular just looks like a very cool, versatile machine.
I enjoy your videos Mike... what are the best websites to find planes for sale etc..
Great video but I love twins engineering for as balanced and control keep doing a good job.
This video was very insightful
Great inspiration
the 310R is a great looking airplane, but I will always prefer my A55 Baron. I got her for $90k and while its expensive to maintain, she is solid and has done some amazing things for me. I won't ever get rid of her.
What would you say it costs in an average year?
dude so-infomative.....keepit going
Great job buddy
I love the twin engine planes. Yes, it's higher maintenance, but it's worth it.
Seen your videos, and I like ten great job
Excellent video!👍
Thanks Mike!!!
I love twin props with whale tails ... so gorgeous. Tks for the video. Interesting content with many details.
The Cherokee 6-300 is a fabulous practical bird. ❤
These are some great solid certified aircraft but we still see you flying your favorite 4 seater Sling TSI at the end of your video there in the California sky’s. Can’t wait for you to have your TSI test flown and checked out!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you, your wife and the beautiful new little girl. Enjoy Daddy and Mommy welcome to the club parents club! Fly Safe my friend!
The 310 just looks cool
The only plane I want is a bush plane... Be going around East Africa's parks and what not... Or even do a trip from Mombasa to the Congo. That would be fun.
Mike, you are the best )
been enjoying your videos thoroughly! incurable amount of information presented in such a useful way. I was wondering, do you know of any single engine airplanes that seat six and have retractable landing gear?
I can think of one, the Cessna 210
Well done
Thanks. Interesting.
Useful video I wish you could advise me when I am buying my very first business jet
My dad buys and sells farm equipment. He went to an auction around 10 years ago and there happened to be a Piper Aztec for sale.
That Aztec happened to be an aircraft my grandfather used to own. He bought it brand new from the factory in the 1970s without paint, and had it painted light green. It was a great little plane.
you still have it?
Aztec..is the best...flew one for 1000 hrs....we called the ass truck cause of its load. and my would fly 214 mph.. really easy to fly for a twin
For me in top five is Cessna Skymaster 337 Wright now by Controller is two under 100K one 60K another 70K.
Bro that was a great video! Subscribed! I am in Mumbai on business and start PPL soon!
Hey Mike I'm Erin love your videos. I really enjoy when you show several models at once. Well you keep making videos. I'll keep watching. BTW I fly an amphibious seaplane . It's an ACK-62. I have an uncle on Canyon Lake another uncle at Lake Travis to friend down at Choate Canyon and mom and dad and friends on the Guadalupe River. Not the part where all the tourist go to Florida on inner tubes, but where the rivers wide in the waters deep so you can see why I went for seaplane.
BTW, I would like to see more seaplane for 6 and a passenger model if possible. Thank you sincerely Erin Schlameus
I'm just about to finish my undergraduate as an aeronautical engineer. I've already got an internship and hopefully a full time job lined up. I'm hoping to finish my pilot license and purchase an aircraft
Started watching the '310 Pilot' UA-cam channel and fell in love with the 310. Found another channel talking about costs and it tempered things a bit, lol. Maintenance, insurance, storage and operating costs for ~100hrs a year were in the $40K range. eek! haha
I wonder how much it really costs to own a super car. Or people that go to baja racing, dirt bikes, rving etc.. I think it depends on the type of hobby you want. I'd love to learn how to fly and go from there. I do not like flying commercial, I rather drive. Up until recently I never thought or imagined I could fly myself.. Here I am researching about personal airplanes. It's still a distant dream, but who knows :D
Hi Mike, i live in north Sarasota, FL. Any good flight schools? Nice video too, ty!
Hey Mike.
Am Henry from Uganda.
What are your aircraft recommendations for someone intending to venture into cargo and passenger (both tours and charters), with quite a small budget.
Happy New Year 2021 Mobro
I LOVE MOJOGRIP!! Super informative, just getting into the aviation industry.
Thanks Mike. Happy Thanksgiving!🦃🍕🥧🛩️🛩️🛩️
Happy Thanksgiving Charles.
In future years, when I receive my license, I plan to carry passengers and this video is very informative! I started a new channel all about aircraft today which was inspired by this channel and I would like to thank you!
I like the way he speaks slow and understandable

I would want a Cessna 310D with the 3 blade props! They are super cheap!!
Love it Mike.
I'm looking forward to flying with family .
What are the cost differences between single and twin engine in anuall maintenance.
Like, almost double. I'd stay away from the twins unless you've got plenty of money to burn. And even if you do - get a nicer/newer/faster single-engine. Possibly get a turboprop like the PC-12, but that's well into the 7-digit range
Good stuff amigo...one comment, avoid the Aztec Turbo
Unless one lives in the mountains,
.....jumping from 30 to 38 GPH plus the extra maintenance, are not justified.
Great useful load though...and fun flying an unpressurized aircraft at FL180 ...with supplemental oxygen of course :)
Our money has been so debased these last couple years, prices must have gone up... but great video, thanks!
One of the nicest things about the Seneca is the counter-rotating engines, no critical engine. Takes some of the stress out of flying a twin. Plus, they're just nice to fly.
They always have a critical engine. It just changes to be whichever one is upwind.
@@Jimmeh417 Well sure, but in practice engine out is far less dramatic in a Seneca...though still dramatic. I'm fascinated by the DA62 and the apparent not-event that shutting either engine down in flight is.
Hi, I am a new subscriber and I am beginning my research for an airplane that I can take on trips around the u.s.. I want something that can seat at least four but also has a ton of luggage room for fishing gear and suitcases. Do you have a list of good choices for me?
Thanks mike
Hi Mike...Particularly I like airplane with two engines. Here in Brazil buy this type of plane the price is high. There are many unnecessary fees. As always you produce great videos. I'm your Brazilian fan. Good job, my boy.
Tu é piloto? Quanto custou sua formação? É difícil entrar para alguma empresa como a Tam por exemplo? E por último, existe algum preconceituoso contra pessoas mais humildes?
Are there any planes kitted out like a campervan? I've seen a couple of old ones but are there modern versions?
Huuuge question mate I’m looking for a plane that can fit 4 to six people or a KUKA delta robot, servers and tools in other words big cargo or side door and a lot of load capacity, for cross country deliveries, based on this what would you recommend mate ?
I’m surprised you didn’t include aircraft like the Cessna 206 or the Cessna 210 more that piper Saratoga, although that is pretty much a Cherokee six. Even some bonanzas can be found under $100,000 and sit six people. A Cessna 205, 206, or to 10, can be easily found under $100,000.
Many light twins are available for little-to-nothing because their cost of operation is insane. They have massive fuel consumption, and double the engine rebuild cost. Basically, if you can afford the fuel and the maintenance of a twin, you probably don't have to limit yourself to only 100k anyways.
Awesome. Someday.
Good assortment and choices. I'm glad you pointed out operating costs above and beyond fuel. that's the nut right there. be very thorough (& honest) in determining your operational needs prior to selecting an aircraft. In addition, you may want to consider the type of flying you want to (can) do. 1000 mile range sounds nice yet realize that's 5+ hours in a plane with your PAX. fly safe and fly well.
I'm sitting here thinking...my 3 daughters and I pee 3 times between Indiana and Tennessee 🤣🤣

The Cessna 206 Stationair works but they are a bit expensive. Single engine fixed landing gear. Maximum Ramp Weight 3,806 lb (1,726 kg)
Basic Empty Weight 2,365 lb (1,073 kg)
Useful Load 1,441 lb (654 kg)
Maximum Payload 1,235 lb (560 kg)
Full Fuel Payload 919 lb (417 kg)

The added extra cost in license upgrade to multi-engine rating. As it can be an extra $20k-25k Dollars. That is an extra $10k+ from a single engine....If you ace it the first time out..
