I love how sarcastic sherman gets sometimes when a stupid ass question is asked such as "What if you ask 294 for the most average drink?" The response to that is hilarious as shit.
Not really a shower thought, but I had a weird dream last night where I was running from 096 and I was trapped in a room. Dr. Sherman appeared in black and white, and told me to put a long rectangular mirror on the floor. I did it, because why not. He told me to put down a second one, directly across from the first. I did, and he said that 096 would come out of the first mirror like it was a portal, and to stand between the mirrors and jump out of the way in time. I did. 096 ended up getting trapped in a loop. Successful containment. Dr. Sherman said, "Good work, cadet." and disappeared. So what if we get someone to look at a picture of 096, put 096 in a portal, put another portal in a chamber, relocate the first portal to be right next to the second portal with no space in between, and lock up the chamber so that the portals can't be deactivated. It would essentially soft lock 096.

Christmas definitely happens in SCP-3008, and the Employees are probably incessantly chanting "merry christmas and happy new years" while tirelessly setting up chaotic and erratic and illogical festive decorations. And then it all comes down at the turn of the new year. I'd imagine it's about a week of madness right before and after december, for the decorations to be manually set up and taken down.

I had this thought randomly, if there was an event that caused the foundation to reveal themself but it didnt turn out as bad as they thought like if they thought an XK world ending event was happening but most of humanity survived, not enough to actually be classified as such, would the foundation stay in the open or would they amnestisize the world?

Imagine if there was an SCP based off of Xana from the cartoon Code Lyoko. Basically a computer virus that can do anomalous things such as control technologies that should not be possible as long as electricity is some how involved even if it defies physics or even control people.
The most horrifying part of 173s turning you head all the way backwards is that the last thing you’d see is 173 who would be stuck there for a bit until you die and stop looking
7:56 the reason SCP-173 is a problem at all is because the Foundation contains, it does not destroy. SCP-173 is probably not very physically robust, not beyond non-anomalous concrete and rebar. Take a sledgehammer to its face and it might not survive. But the Foundation won't take a sledgehammer to its face because that's not what they _do._ The Hulk could very easily destroy SCP-173
My SCP shower thoughts: 1. If an alien lands on Earth and it looks different than humans/has some kind of powers, is it considered an anomally? I mean... It's technically normal on their planet, so it's not really an anomally... 2. Would demigods (Percy Jackson), gods and monsters be considered anomalies? How would the Foundation contain them? I mean, the gods are kinda necessary for the world to function... But demigods and monsters? Would they make an ambush on the Camp Half Blood? 3. What would the Foundation do in a situation similat to BNHA? Everyone suddenly getting superpowers? I mean, they could try to contain them at the beggining, but at some point it's just too many people for the public to not notice... 4. What would happen if there was an SCP that could literally save humanity? Like, a person who can cure all diseases in the world or solve pollution with magic. The Foundation is supposed to fight for humanity, right? Would they try to secretly use the anomaly, little by little? Or would they just pretend that it's not important and waste the opportunity? 5. What if we took all the trash from our world and shoved it into SCP-3008?
1) Absolutely anomalous to us, but for keeping the sake of normalcy, CONTAIN. 2) Yes. Containing them would be possible, but there would be different containment procedures for each demigod/monster. Ambush on the camp: probably, if they could locate it. MTF Samsara would be the only ones to go in though. 3) There are ways for the Foundation to deal with global events and STILL stay hidden, often using amnestics, but Im sure this is some sort of K-Class event (end or world/reality/etc) 4)Classify as Thaumiel, contain it, and test the HELL out of it. 5) Theoretically it CAN work, but the issue is getting it IN the Ikea. Wouldn't it be easy to test if something is anomalous (at least for things that are physically accessible) by simply measuring the hume levels around it? I know at a lot of facilities that would be difficult to attempt because of the significant presence of other anomalies, but it could still be useful in the field, right?
How often does the Australian branch of the Foundation pick up a weird plant or animal and spend weeks and thousands of dollars studying just to realize it's just Australia being Australia.
